This beautiful home is located on a bluff overlooking Lighthouse Beach. It offers a 180-degree vista of the lighthouse, beach and Coos Bay jetty. The 2000 square foot house has private beach access. Each room offers an ocean view.
There is a private stairway to the beach exclusively for our renters. Without public stairs, Lighthouse Beach is difficult to access, making it the ideal destination for a quiet getaway. It is a large sandy beach, with plenty of surf for boarders, wood for bonfires, and tide pools teeming with ocean life. There is something here for everyone in your family! And for those less adventuresome, you can enjoy watching boats crossing the bar and pelicans fishing without setting foot outside.
Our home is walking distance from Shore Acres State Park with botanical gardens, which boasts some of the state’s most beautiful walks along ocean cliffs. During high tides, the surf crashing against the rocks and the resultant spray is one of nature’s spectacular displays. The home is also in close proximity to Sunset Bay, which offers wonderful tidepooling, swimming, and sea kayaking. And for any golfers, we’re just a 30-minute drive from world-renowned Bandon Dunes courses!

Year Purchased: 1979
I am a retired realtor and native of the Coos Bay area. My husband Stan and I enjoy travelling, tennis, golf and spending time with our families. I enjoy spending time painting, beach combing, and watching sunsets at our beach home.
Why the Owner Chose Coos Bay
My late husband Daryle, also a real estate broker, encountered the property when asked to list it by the original owners. We were blown away by its location and breathtaking views, and decided to purchase the property ourselves with the intention of retiring there. We started renting the property for vacations in 1991 and have continued to share it with a loyal clientele from throughout the United States.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We have kept guest books since our first rental, and one of the reoccurring comments notes the home's relaxing atmosphere. We, along with our guests, enjoy strolling on the beach, hiking along the cliffs, sitting in a beach chair enjoying a good book, and watching the varying wildlife. Just this past weekend my son spotted a whale in the lighthouse cove. Each trip is a new adventure. Our property also attracts many people for birthdays, anniversaries, and other family gatherings.
