Large and clean apartment in a quiet neighbourhood

I would echo all the positive comments below about the apartment and the owner Caterina. The apartment is located in a apartment complex with security at the gate, so you feel very secure and the garden is nice to come home to with birds chirping and cats sleeping under the tree. I was not able to get the wifi password initially but Cateria was able to quickly get it to me which is very much appreciated. Only note is that as this is on an island, you do have to take boat rides (~10 minutes) every day to main island for all the sights and shops, so if you get sea sickness quickly, this may not be where you want to stay. For the rest of us, I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Venice.

We stayed in this apartment in the fall of 2009 and in another of Caterina and Giorgio's apartments in the same building in fall 2010. We find this location ideal. Giudecca is quiet and restful yet a two minute walk to the vaporetto stop and a five or ten minute vaporetto ride and you are at or near all the major sights. The apartments were spacious, clean, well equipped, and well appointed. The building's inner garden is lovely. Caterina met us at the vaporetto stop both times. It was a wonderful place to come "home" to at the end of the day (or during the day for a nap.) We hope to have the chance to stay here again.

September in Guidecca

The apartment is located on Guidecca, which we found to be a pleasant and convenient community. It was an easy walk to everything we needed, wine, groceries, bakery, salumeria, post ofice, pharmacy, vaporetto and hardware store. The apartment in part of a complex built around a lovely garden, which is entered across the Rio San Eufemia. The apartment itself was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Caterina was just upstairs and always helpful. We have stayed in several apartments in Venice and can say that this was by far the best in everyway.

Recommended for:Sightseeing

I stayed here in August with my husband and two children and we loved it. It is on a centrally located island just across the water from many attactions. The public boat is a pleasure - it runs often and is fun. The apartment itself is in a pretty garden setting a short walk from the boat stop. Our host was very helping and nice. The apartment is attract, well equipped and very clean. I would definately stay here again.

My husband, our two small children and I truly enjoyed our stay here. Caterina was more than helpful, the apartment was very clean and spacious, everything we needed was within walking distance and the boats were extremely easy to navigate. We experienced torrential downpours the first two days which kept us inside for much of that time. We utilized the kitchen for all of our meals those first two days and found it to be adequately stocked with supplies, having all the tools required for basic cooking. We enjoyed the fact that the location was away from the heavy tourist scene, yet we had all we needed within a short walking distance. Several of the restaurants and bars along the main street were fantastic and very friendly. Highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to stay here again!

The apt was clean and well laid-out. The location was wonderful - away from the crazy tourist scene, but only a short 10 minute ride to San Marco square...with boats every 10-15 minutes. The courtyard was beautiful and in bloom. There was a moveable air-conditioner which worked really well during our stay (crazy heat wave). The property owner meet us at the boat and walked us to the apt - 5 minutes away. We didn't find the grocery, but made do with a pastry shop around the corner for coffe and breakfast. Harry's Dolci, of Harry's Bar in NYC fame, (exceptional food) is also right around the corner and open late for dinner. I would stay here again in a quick heartbeat....it was a wonderful, spacious, clean and cool retreat!

Excellent apartment..in a nice part of Venice away from all the tourist crowds..Close to everything ,public boat,supermarkets e.t.c. Caterina (Owner) was very helpful she met us at the boat stop which made our arrival much easier and took the time to explain everything to us. The apartment was clean and well stocked with all amenities required for a family of 5. Thank you very much

We just returned from a long weekend in Venice and this was an absolutely wonderful place to stay for me and our children (ages 2, 5 & 13). It was very spacious, quiet, convenient and a nice break from the tourist mobs in Venice. We would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Our week long stay was wonderful. The Apartment is well appointed, in a calm neighborhood, a short walk to the vaporeto. There are several nice restaurants in the area and a very good COOP grocery store. If you want to visit and enjoy this beautiful city, but get away from all the tourists, this is a great option. Caterina met us at the vaporeto and gave us all the information we needed to get settled in.
