Wonderful stay!| Dec 17, 2010 Love2Travel201011 Winston Salem, North Carolina This B&B is a hidden gem in a great location just off Bellevue Avenue. Noreen is great to work with and very accomodating of individual needs. She will gladly make excellent restaurant recommends if you want to eat where the locals do. Settle in and enjoy feeling like you have a home away from home while visiting Newport.

Great location and accomodations! Nov 30, 2010 J&JHubbard Huntington, WV We (husband and our two dogs) spent Thanksgiving week at Murray House and we could have not asked for more. The room was clean, comfortable and a great location for our morning walks with a park and the "cottages" just a block away. Everything worked just the way our hostess said it would, and she provided a wealth of information about the area. While we were there for a family gathering, the B&B provided a calm place when we needed it.

Murray House, Newport's dog friendliest destination Nov 26, 2010 AlexandCindy, Cincinnati, Ohio In our brief 3 days visit, we walked our two greyhounds (Samson & Delilah) along the entire Cliff Walk. Little did we know that they are part mountain goat as well. Our time here was every bit worth the 835 miles we drove from Cincinnati, Oh (West Chester). You must load google earth on your computer. I will post our pictures there for you to find. After all, that's how we found the Murray House. The dog friendly restaurants were wonderful, and the October weather, sunny & 70' something, could not have been more idlyllic. Each day we returned to our room, we were enchanted by the new table settings. Samson & Delilah were overjoyed with the dog treats you left. Without further digression, Murray House and our hostess, Noreen, far exceeded our expectations in a wondrous setting. Don't change a thing

Great stay on my first trip to Newport! Oct 11, 2010 Spieslak Massachusetts Murray House Bed and Breakfast is absolutely charming! I had a smaller room as it was only my daughter and myself, but it was roomy enough for two. Room was very clean and decorated very nicely with alot attention to detail. The private patio and pool area were beautiful. The innkeeper was very nice and her gourmet breakfasts were delicious! Overall an excellent experience and would definitely stay there again.

Tremendous place!!! Sep 3, 2010 laddiemut Cheshire, CT My wife and I spent the better part of the week at the Murray House. Accomodations were excellent! Poolside room was very comfortable and roomy. Breakfasts were spectacular--different every day. Our host Noreen was very helpful pointing out places to go and was on the money with restaurant recommendations. Really enjoyed ourselves. As two native New Yorkers looking for a bit of peace & quiet, we were very pleased with the perfect location of Murray House -- just the right distance from the hustle & bustle of downtown Newport. We found the Pond View Suite to be cozy and charming, yet quite spacious. The weather outside was hot, yet somehow our suite stayed cool & comfortable -- we left the AC off the whole weekend! Our first morning, we got up early & took a cab to the beginning of the Cliff Walk, that way we would end up right by Murray House -- we were very happy we did it this way. Upon leaving after our two night getaway, we were daydreaming about extending our stay, just to have some more time to enjoy & appreciate the beautiful grounds, take a dip in the pool, & relax in the jacuzzi. Next time! ;)

We've visited Noreen's b&b three times and couldn't recommend it more highly. It is a quiet and tranquil oasis a short drive (or long walk) away from the hustle and bustle. You will feel your cares melt away at this calm and treasured spot. In just a few minutes walk you can enjoy the Cliff Walk or beach for your morning or evening stroll... or you can wander by the mansions! We love the pool and the covered deck outside the garden room where you can enjoy the serenity rain or shine. We don't eat breakfast, so I can't comment on the cooking, but Noreen always brings us fresh fruit and a muffin anyway ;-). She is the perfect hostess and is incredibly dog friendly and our shepherd Zelda always has a great time too. We'll be back next year!

The most charming B&B in New England! Such a feeling of nature and privacy and close enough to walk to the mansions (and the delightful cliff walk). Inn-keeper Noreen gave me a tour of the guest suites and they were all so special that I am having trouble deciding which one to stay in next time. I will be returning very soon. Thanks for a great time, Noreen!

We had a wonderful time at Noreen's! It was such a plus to have our chihuahua Millie with us because she is part of our little family! Noreen is a doll and she makes you feel so welcome and relaxed! If you have a canine or feline friend that you cannot travel without this is the spot for you!

We would not be able to say which brought us the greatest memories during our Newport wedding and honeymoon: The amazing atmosphere of the Murray House itself or the warm and terribly thoughtful owner, Noreen. Our room, as well as the B&B grounds, were very inviting, private and well kept. Noreen is a wonderful hostess with a heart that will keep you wondering what she'll come up with next! (we love you lady!!) Believe this: have your next stay be at Murray House, and you won't care to look any where else.

Christine and I have stayed at several B&B's and by far this one is the BEST. The pondview room is very cozy and romantic with the panoramic views of Almy pond and the ocean. As soon as you enter the room you begin to relax and feel the stress melting away. The in-ground pool and hottub was very clean and the patches of small gardens and Coy pond are beautiful. This outside paradise has many places to sit and relax. Noreen is a wonderfully kind person who will go out of her way to make your stay perfect. The delicious and healthy breakfasts she cooks every morning is the best we ever tasted. As if it can't get any better, she allows pets and our greyhound, Jasmine, enjoyed her stay too! She was especially happy the first morning when Noreen surprised her with a doggy bag of treats and a stuffy toy. All we can say is if you pass up this B&B you are making a terrible mistake.

Dear Noreen, Our trip to Newport this past weekend has got to be the best weekend getaway we have ever had. We thought having a dog would preclude us from taking these much needed respites. Your B&B was more than a place to sleep, it was like a home away from home. You have carved out such a warm and inviting place, while still able to provide guests with so much privacy. You food was exceptional, and the presentation was flawless. Our perfect "babymoon" vacation. We look forward to visiting you again- next time with the baby! Warmly, Michael, Divya and our pup Alaska

Dear Noreen, We've been to several B&B's and never enjoyed one as much as yours. Our 4 day stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was such a thrill to return to the room from a day at the beach and see our cat, Ariel, snoozing comfortably in a sunny spot calmly awaiting our arrival. We enjoyed the sumptious gourmet breakfasts, the relaxing hottub, and the serene beauty of our deck overlooking Almy Pond and the ocean. Your dinner suggestions were perfect for the celebration of our anniversary. Thank you for your warmth and picturesque surroundings. This was our best trip yet to Newport and we will certainly return. Thanks for all your special efforts. Our best regards to you, Lynn, Bob, and Ariel.

In the summer of 2003, we were looking for a place to bring our dog Bandit who had just been diagnosed with cancer. We wanted to do something special with him. We stumbled upon your Inn and stayed for a night. What a pretty room & balcony overlooking your pool and the water beyond! Plenty of room for all 3 of us. You were wonderful to us and so hospitable -- we loved meeting your Samoyed Nikki, who looked like Bandit's old buddy Tabuka who we had lost a few years before. Bandit enjoyed his walks in the nearby dog park. We lost our beloved Bandit 2 years ago but I like to think he remembers his visit to Newport fondly --- as we do!

I think everyone should have the chance to have a dream come true, don't you? Never did we expect to find that at Murray House B&B. But we did! Staying in the "backyard of the mansions" was delightful! And that enchantment was reflected in our Poolside room. Bright spots of color and textures filled the room. A small, but very well stocked kitchenette enticed my creative spirits for breakfast. And I truly felt like a child on Christmas morning to return to our room after an outing and discovered a new set of Christmas Dishes had been set on our dining table. Everything was so comfy and cozy, Murray House far exceeded any expectations we carried with us! We are so very grateful that our dog Hoover was welcomed to stay with us. He is so special in our world. To have that recognized, and to be warmly greeted, began the sparkle of this fairytale. When you visit, make sure you take a few quiet moments to look about the gardens, for even in winter there are signs of Noreens' deep respect and appreciation for nature. Our visit to the Christmas Evening at the Breakers was a dream come true. Our stay at Murray House B&B added the "happily ever after". Many Thanks Amy, Leif and Hoover

Noreen, I just wanted to send you a quick note to say "thanks"! Although our stay in Newport was very short , we had a great time. The accommodations at the Murray house were absolutely wonderful. My wife (Donna) and I are were delighted with the the attention to detail in the Garden room. It was very inviting and extremely comfortable. Sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet with you in person. We would love to visit the Murray house some time during the summer. I imagine that the surroundings are quite beautiful then! Thank you again, Bob R.....

Hi Noreen, Just a note to thank you again. Our stay was just wonderful. We so enjoyed the room and the fantastic breakfasts. Your cinnamon rolls were my favorite! We were thrilled that they appeared twice during our stay. Are they made with bisquick too? Everything about your place was delightful. The gardens are so well thought out and just beautiful. The pool was a real treat as well. Your recommendations were a great help. Thanks again for your hospitality. Newport was great - thanks to The Murray House and thanks to you - Noreen. With kind regards, Susan and David
