In addition to all the activities in, and around Breckenridge, one of the wonderful things about Breckenridge is the number of very good to excellent reasonably priced restaurants.
Some of our favorite restaurants in Breckenridge are The Blue River Bistro (best happy hour), Giampetro's Pizza (great for carry out), Relish, Empire Burger, Modis, Quandary Grill, and South Ridge Seafood (for their Happy Hour appetizers). For Mexican food, our favorite in Breckenridge is Fiesta Jalisco and Carlos Miguel's in Frisco (sit outside facing the mountains with margaritas and appetizers!). Overall, we believe the restaurants are good to excellent and very reasonably priced compared to most resorts.
Come for the Winter and stay for the Summer. Whenever you visit, we hope your stay is as enjoyable as ours always is!

A welcoming mountain retreat!
VRBO Bear stayed here - 09/25/2009
We had a great time up at Audie’s Retreat with our family and friends. We were welcomed into this home long before we ever arrived. We felt like we were home as soon as we walked into this very spacious townhouse with beautiful mountain décor in each room. There were personal pictures of the owner and his family, inviting us to share in memories of our own in this beautiful house. You could feel the love, laughter and memories that have been shared over the years.
We were extremely impressed by the fully stocked kitchen, making it possible for us to find everything that we needed. It was like the owners stocked the kitchen just for us! The high-end appliances, granite counter tops and large sinks made cooking all our meals a breeze. The little cubs enjoyed playing in the bunk room where there were plenty of books to read and toys for them to play with, along with a TV with DVD player and VCR. It was really great that the cubs had so many things to do. We really appreciated the property was cub friendly.
The adults enjoyed sitting in front of the floor-to-ceiling fireplace looking out at spectacular views from the top of Boreas Pass. Another nice feature of the home was the two master bedrooms boasting master baths with large bath tubs and glass showers. Multiple families traveling together can both enjoy the luxury amenities! A favorite of ours was sitting in the hot tub on the private back porch and gazing at the stairs that went on for miles and miles. It was the most incredible star-gazing experience. Even if it’s too cloudy to gaze at the stars, you can enjoy the solitude of the mountains.
We dined out and ate in Breckenridge at Bubba Gumps restaurant because this little bear loves fish. We also enjoyed some ice cream and walking around downtown. There is always so much to see and do in Breckenridge. We were here during OctoberFest and had a great time!
Whether you choose to relax in the sanctuary of the private residential setting or get out and enjoy the beautiful Breckenridge Mountains, make this home your home away from home. I know we sure did!

Audie's Retreat at the Top of Breckenridge!
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Although it's quiet and secluded in the mountains, it's only minutes from the charm of Breckenridge. Locally, there's fantastic skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, mountain climbing, skating, golfing, white water rafting, great restaurants, spas...you name it and it's probably in Breckenridge or somewhere nearby in Summit County. All of Breckenridge is also very family oriented and kid friendly. There are lots of activities for children. It's also only a few miles from Keystone, Copper Mountain and Vail. The weather is awesome in the summer with world class snow in the winter! Access to Breckenridge is easy from either Denver or Colorado Springs (which we prefer to avoid the traffic and I-70). Breckenridge is simply a wonderful Rocky Mountain Town!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Quiet and secluded, with awesome views of the Rocky Mountains, a large hot tub on a private back deck, 2 master suites with jacuzzis, 3 fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, 2 car heated garage, in-floor radiant heating system, wireless internet with a printer/scanner/fax machine to stay in touch back home. All the comforts of a mountain home with city amenities just minutes away.

A trail that leads up to an abandoned mine overlooking the entire Blue River Valley. Best by 4 wheel drive vehicle, a steep hike on foot.
A trail leading to an abandoned mine and down through French Gulch. A nice hike but can also be driven.
An awesome drive over Boreas Pass where the old railroad existed. The trail leads though meadows with elk and deer, through the Pike National Forest and all the way down to Como on Rt. 285.
A rock road leading up to Blue Lakes at the top of the Canyon. Unbelievable views. A hiking trail at the top leads farther up to waterfalls and more lakes.
The starting point for one of the most beautiful trails you will ever hike. Bring plenty of water and rain gear during the afternoon.
The beginning of a several mile paved bike trail that slopes gently down to Frisco. Enjoy shops, restaurants and bars along Main Street. Use our bikes, or rent them in town for an enjoyable ride.

Audie's a Real Treat!

Just spent a fantastic 2.5 weeks in Audie's retreat. The home has spectacular mountain views and was a quick and easy 8 minute drive to Breckenridge and the ski area. It was also extremely easy to ski the other mountains in the area and we managed to get to Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek and Keystone! The house was in perfect condition, spotless and very well equipped in every respect. The kitchen was excellent and had all the necessities to cook wonderful meals at the house. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and although my wife and I hosted only 2 friends from London, it would easily accommodate a family with space for all! Our favorite part was definitely the hot tub. It was the perfect ending to our days on the slopes and was a peaceful and secluded way to unwind. Jeb, the owner was extremely helpful during our stay giving us a courtesy welcome call to answer any questions and help us settle in with his parking tips and restaurant recommendations. A big thank you from us to Jeb is in order for opening up his home to us and making our stay a memorable one! I would recommend staying at Audie's retreat to anyone who thinking of vacationing in Summit County. Breckenridge is by far the best town to stay in if you are looking for a base to explore all the area had to offer and is big enough not to get bored of, if staying like us for more than a week. Audie's retreat, on Baldy mountain is a fantastic location giving you unrivaled views of the area and a little peace and quiet after a day on the mountain, while being only minutes away from all the action.
