Situated in the heart of the Hudson Valley, this cedar cabin overlooks a private 7 acre meadow, complete with historic wooden church, natural pond and shady babbling brook. Spend time on the front porch watching birds, roast marshmallows in the meadow fire-pit, walk the grassy paths to the pond or dip your toes into the meandering stream.
A short drive or walk down from the meadow is Harlemville, home of the Hawthorne Valley Steiner School and Farm where you can choose from an amazing assortment of fresh organic produce.
Within a range of a half hour drive, you have a choice of summer music festivals at Tanglewood or Bard College, winter skiing at the Massachusetts border, arts venues at Art Omi, PS21, hiking to BashBish Falls, or antiquing and dining along the Hudson river in New York or in Great Barrington, Mass.

What a marvelous home! Our entire family enjoys vacationing at this house, and we come every year to appreciate the wildlife, outdoors, and amazing hospitality. The children enjoy playing in the brook, and through the meadow--catching fireflies and eating blueberries straight off the bushes. We love the peaceful back porch with morning coffee and a good book! The owner's tea shop (Verdigris in Hudson, NY) has an amazing selection of teas and incredible baked goods. We'll be back!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Everything about this place is special. The charming house, the serenity of the surroundings,a wonderful owner. We were given great directions including tips on where to shop and when we arrived everything was written out for us. We actually went to the owner's tea shop - she couldn't have been nicer (the tea shop is killer, try the blueberry tart!!!!) You can tell there is a lot of love in this place and it provided the perfect weekend getaway. I highly recommend this rental.
