This wonderful vacation home is located directly on the shores of Saginaw Bay (Lake Huron) with a large, private sandy beach and spectacular sunsets. This is a ranch style home with a walk-out lower level. There are two bedrooms, both with queen beds, as well as a new queen pull-out sofa located in a den which is 75% private. There are two full bathrooms (one on each floor). The home is set up for one or two families to enjoy their own personal space, as both the upstairs and downstairs have a kitchen and living area.
The kitchens are fully stocked with microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots & pans, utensils, etc. There is also a washer and dryer available for your use. Please bring your own towels and linens. There is a tv and dvd player for your enjoyment indoors.
There is a large deck off the main floor that is perfect for relaxing, eating, and enjoying the views and sunsets (the property actually faces west on the thumb of Michigan). The lower floor walks out to a large grassy area with a fire pit and picnic table, before leading onto the sugar sand beach. There is a gas grill for your use, as well as two kayaks. The water is perfect for families as there is a large beach and shallow area in the water.
The home is located two miles from the quaint village of Port Austin which has great restaurants (including fine dining), shops, bars, and a large farmers market every Saturday during the summer. There are plenty of family attractions in Port Austin, such as a waterfront park with large play structure and putt-putt golf.
This is a wonderful vacation destination where you can relax by the lake during the day and enjoy a campfire under the stars at night. Get away from it all and come stay in Port Austin!

What a great relaxing place for families. The layout gave us the perfect space between child and adult vacation fun. The kids had their space and we had ours. I was always able to well supervise the kids because I could see everywhere from in or outside of the home. We will be visiting again.

Wow! Nothing less than wonderful. I've visited Port Austin since I was a child. But, this visit was amazing. Clean, convenient, nice people, even the light switches were clearly marked! What a great vacation home! I'm looking forward to visiting next year already!
