This spacious room is in a classic Victorian home located just 9 blocks from the Arcata plaza. The house has a comfortable family feel with an expansive living room and a beautiful fully equipped kitchen available to all guests. It is the perfect home away from home. Find a new friend at our house and take off to enjoy the majestic redwoods, paddle the peaceful, scenic lagoons, bike through the lush Arcata Bottoms and explore the breathtaking, rugged coastline.

Our elegant home features gorgeous Brazilian cherrywood floors and a large kitchen for preparing delicious, gourmet dinners with other guests, or making breakfast in the morning to enjoy in the sunshine on our deck overlooking lovely Humboldt Bay. The gracious living room has large bay windows with stunning views out to Bay, and big, cushy sofas for relaxing. There is a woodstove to cuddle up next to on a chilly evening for games, conversation or to read a book.

This splendid Victorian home rests on top of a hill, so each room has a lofty feel, with views of the Bay and the town of Arcata. Enjoy your own exclusive art gallery, with many pieces on display from talented local artists. Every private room has a queen size bed, soft cotton sheets and down comforters. There are four exceptional bedrooms, two upstairs and two downstairs, and two light filled, sparkling clean bathrooms.

We have the four comfortable, elegant bedrooms available, and the entire house is also available to rent. Contact us for more information!

Wildberries Market place is only 3 blocks away, and there is a community pool just around the corner. There are many Yoga classes offered in Arcata, a nearby gym and other activities to get involved in. Every Saturday during the spring, summer and fall there is a Farmer’s Market on the plaza, with live music and food. Humboldt State University brings lots of shows through town at the Van Duzer Theater, and you can often find a good local band at one of the coffee shops.

What a treat it was to stay in this house! We could not peel ourselves away from the bayview windows. Nor resist sitting down as a family for a nice homecooked meal out on the patio. Weather it was Ann’s beautifully appointed home or the old small town charm, we felt we were shifted back in time when all things were good! Needless to say we enjoyed our stay and will be coming back soon and bringing friends along.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The house is beautiful! We rented this house for Oyster festival '10. I had 8 people sleeping comfortably. The view is wonderful, the kitchen is huge, and the layout of the house allows privacy for the bedrooms. This is a great place for couples to rent. The house is also perfectly located within walking distance to downtown, campus, community forest and much more! Also Ann was so wonderful to rent from. I recommend this to anyone coming into town for just a weekend or for an extended stay. I didn't want to leave!

This house is spectacular...old world charm with all the modern conveniences. I've brought several visitors to stay here because the warmth, cleanliness, decor and easeful atmosphere and management is delightful every time.

This Victorian home is absolutely stunning. It is cozy, clean and very well maintained. Recently renovated with HUGE windows that overlook the bay with a cozy wood burning stove that makes you never want to leave. It has spacious rooms that all posses different personalities & a kitchen that makes you want to start your own cooking show. This home is walking distance to town & located in a very safe neighborhood. There is no better place to stay in Arcata. Especially with Ann, who was a pleasure to get to know during our stay.

A lovely, incredibly well maintained home, comfortable beds, and an expansive living room with lots of light and a view when sunny. Ann was a wonderful host with lots of helpful information about the area.

              Year Purchased: 1994

About: Ann started her first vacation rental in 1993 the small town of Arcata, in Northern California. Over the years she expanded to her home on Maui, and another studio in Arcata. Her daughters, Elly and Mary, have helped her design, furnish, decorate and manage her vacation homes. When not working on their vacation homes they enjoy traveling, hiking, backpacking, and rafting. Sharing their vacation homes has been a rewarding experience, with interesting and lively guests from all over the world.

              Why Arcata:
Arcata is a lively university town, with Humboldt State bringing through great music and theater shows. There are coffee shops with poetry readings and local music, Brio Bakery with fresh baked goodies on plaza, and it's close to Redwood National Park with beautiful hiking trails through the redwoods. If you take scenic highway 299 east, you can enjoy the sunshine on the Trinity River, and whitewater rafting.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
While staying in this beautiful home you can visit with other guests and meet people from all over. You may meet your new best friend!
