Dell Webb's Sun City is a vibrant community, suitable for active adults, one of whom should be 55 years old. There are two on-site 18-hole golf courses and three club houses offering over 80 different activities and clubs, plus several restaurants as well as a theater and ballroom.

Our home of 1,832 square feet has a desirable southerly exposure, overlooking the Santa Rosa golf course at the fifth tee-box. It is a convenient 10-minute walk to the back entrance of the shopping center at Market Place, which has a Stater Bros. supermarket, as well as several individual stores and restaurants. A healthy 20 minute walk (or a 1 mile or so drive) gets you to the Mountain View Club House, which houses - among other things - the administration desk, post office, Ventura restaurant, Morning coffee/evening Martini Bar, and computer club.

The house can easily accommodate six people. It is very pleasingly designer-furnished, and equipped with all the comforts one needs, including a gas fireplace and surround-sound system. Facing south-west, the windows are tinted throughout, which enables one to enjoy the lovely golf-course views, while keeping the house cool. The back patio is equipped with a propane BBQ, overhead fan and misters. The rock waterfall feature and automatic landscape lighting, add to the patio enjoyment. Several citrus trees are abundant with fruit during the winter months.

A golf cart is available for use, but cannot be taken off site - it is especially not permitted to be taken to the Market Place shopping center.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Sun City

Located on the north side of State Highway 10, at the Washington Ave. exit in Palm Desert, Sun City is surrounded by the San Jacinto, Santa Rosa and San Gorgonio mountain ranges. Nostalgic Palm Springs is a half hour drive away. San Diego is less than a 2 hour drive. Also within an easy drive for a day's outing is Joshua Tree National Park, the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, and Idyllwild, which, located at a 5,000 ft. elevation, is an ideal day trip when the desert heat becomes too much to handle! For the shoppers, there are the Desert Hills Premium Outlet Centers 20 minutes away, the elegant El Paseo Street, and the weekly popular College of the Desert street fairs, held on weekend days, are a mere 15 minutes away.

The Unique Benefits at this Single Family Residence

There are so many things to see and do in the area, and not just for adults. For visiting grandchildren, there is the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert, as well as the Living Desert, (not limited to only children's interest though.) Just too many interesting things to list.

My husband is from the Bronx, New York, and I am from London, England. Our permanent home is in Concord, California, which is about 25 miles east of beautiful San Francisco. We first visited Palm Desert in 2002, and fell in love with the area, so knew that this was the place we wanted to purchase our retirement home.
