Come relax and indulge yourself on the banks of the Tickfaw River, in your very own quiet southern hideaway. You can fish from the private boat dock, swim, boat, and ski or simply watch the river flow by as you sit on the dock or swing. If you prefer, you can spend peaceful and romantic moments on the second floor balcony facing the river or enjoy some drinks in the screened covered patio on the first floor while you watch all the boats go by. This wonderful riverfront house, located in Springfield, LA on a private street, is very tastefully decorated and offers everything you need for a getaway to remember.

The upstairs master bedroom features a jacuzzi bathtub, an incredible view of the river with access to the balcony with another bedroom down the hall containing bunk beds & a futon. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffeemaker (all you need are the food & drinks.) Full size washer and dryer is located in the utility room with all linens provided. There are satellite TVs in the den and master bedroom with a VCR/DVD player in the den. There are central heat and air controls on each floor with ceiling fans in all the rooms and a log stove in the den.

Tin Lizzies Restaurant & Bar can be seen right from the boat dock where you can hear the live music every weekend in the summer. The Prop Stop Bar and Lake Maurepas are located about 7 miles by boat. There is plenty to do out of the water such as visiting the antique shops in Ponchatula, golfing, shopping and eating at several nearby restaurants such as Charlie's Seafood, Lagniappe's, and Taste of Baveria. Also, hiking and canoeing can be done at Tickfaw State Park located close by.

  • This place is wonderful! The perfect balance between peacefulness and party atmosphere. The days are long, lazy and beautiful on the screened porch or taking a dip in the river. Tin Lizzie's rocks on weekend nights, but at just the right volume. The kids slept inside and the adults danced on the pier. I can't wait to go back!

  • When renting a place for the first time,you never really know what to expect; however; the Riverfront Hideaway was an unexpected surprise! The setting is beautiful with oak trees and cypress trees shading almost the entire backyard. The bamboo, trees and plants that line the sides of the property gives you an added bit of privacy and almost a tropical atmosphere. Already planning a fall trip!

  • The renter of this property was incredibly flexible due to several changes in my plans. The facilities were incredible. It was exactly as pictured on website (actually, nicer). The screened porch was lovely. We fished off the pier, took boat rides in a "glass like" river, and toured swamps. What a great couple of days! Will surely go back and would highly recommend. Very peacful during the week and I understand a little more eventful on the weekends, so pick your pleasure!
