Our beach retreat has just been all redone & beautifully appointed by artist/owner to please the most particular. It is being maintained in spotless cleanliness and awaits the most refined guests. Cape Cod in theme with the best of beds and linens (no linens in summer), stainless steel kitchen, extremely large patio with a view of sand and beach are but a few of the luxurious amenities. Everything has been thought of and included for your stay to be as pleasant as possible.

Biking is everywhere and for this we have provided five bicycles for your use. Also included for you use are six beach chairs, Bar B Q, Cable TV's & High Speed Internet connection.

This is an individual house with top floor being three bed/two bath and downstairs having two bed/two bath and connected by outside stairway. Two car garage plus one outside parking space. Private laundry room with washer/dryer. Sleeps twelve in beds and three more in air beds.

The surfing is fabulous and the "Pier" with lots of activity is a short one mile bike ride. A shopping center with several restaurants, taco shop, dive shop and bike rental is 1 & 1/2 blocks away. The sand, ocean & beach is 3/4 of block from your door.

The property description and pictures were very accurate. We found everything to be clean and in good working order. The 5 beach bikes were a real plus for us. The owner was helpful in answering any questions we had prior to our visit. We would rent this property again.

A beautiful home away from home

We stayed in this house for 5 days the week before Christmas and rented both upstairs and downstairs. We had 7 people upstairs and 4 of us downstairs. Our group ranged in age from 4 years old to 85 years, and all of us loved the house. It is beautiful - clean, neat, very up to date, and well appointed with lovely furniture, nice TVs, nice kitchen appliances, 2 outdoor gas grills, and bikes. Tons of hot water for showers and the kitchen - very important to our group. The beds were very comfortable, as other reviews have commented. We ditto the comment on the white couch - a little scary for a group with children. Also ditto to the ease of access to the highway, John Wayne airport, and Disneyland. For us the stay was extremely quiet and relaxing and the parking on the street was very available during the day (yes the garage parking is tight but doable, as others have commented). This is most likely due to the time of year - it was pretty quiet all over Newport Beach in general. A warning: plan to bring or buy hand soap, kleenex, and TP (one roll provided for each bathroom, not enough for a 5 day stay for the group). No big deal but caught us off guard. Joy was a very accommodating hostess - we had several emails and calls back and forth, and she was very responsive to our questions and issues. Regarding activities, several of us are runners, and running along the beach in the mornings was a major highlight. Our best experience: the Christmas Boat Parade, which we walked over to watch on the first night. It was amazing!

Great Beach Location!

We had a group of 8 adults over 40 stay here. We all enjoy the beach, but some of us were more focused on Disneyland for this trip, and some of us were more focused on the beach and the Newport Beach atmosphere. We couldn't have found a better location to satisfy all of us. The house is very nice and very clean, both upstairs and downstairs, and is only a short block from the gorgeous beach - so close that we walked it in bare feet each day - you can see the ocean from the porch and smell the wonderful salt air. The house is right off Newport's fantastic bike path that leads from one end of the beautiful beach town to the other.. The house is also very convenient to hopping on the 55 Freeway or Pacific Coast Highway for visiting other places (we spent 3 days at Disneyland). Everyone in our group was extremely happy with the house.

The listing desription and photos accurately describe the beach home, the property was very clean and well-maintained, and the owner was very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed relaxing on the very close beach, going to Disneyland and Sea World, and going shopping in the nearby shops. I would highly recommend this property to others and we hope to return in the near future.

Wonderful Accomendations!

We had 11 person reunion end of Apr 2010 and rented both upper and lower units. Plenty of room and beds are extra comfy--even bed picky hubby slept great. Furnished beautifully and upscale; except for worry about a white fabric couch with small kids the experience was delightful. Owners easy to work with and accomodating. Bring lots of quarters for laundry- market limits what they will give you. 4 minute walk to the sand and a great beach- we saw dolphins playing in the surf right in front of us two days in a row. Street parking is a hassel, but that's anywhere in Newport. No need to drive much of anywhere if the beach is your main game plan. It's an art getting into the garages, but can be done. Easy Disneyland commute. Seemed to be lots of parties on Fri-Sat night and police response if rowdy so if that will bother you, stay further away from the beach zone. Most of our group slept through the college age neighbors bash. We'd come again!!

Garages are a bit tight (all garages in Newport are tight as space is at a premium) but there is 3 parking spaces instead of the usual 2 so that helps. As to the beach & sand, the walk is 2 min. not 4. Hope these folks come back as they were nice guests & took very good care of our beach house.
