Stayed at Billy & Pam's unit for a 3-day weekend which was not nearly enough time to enjoy this paradise. The unit is located directly on the pool. It was very nicely decorated and equipped with everything needed for a stress free vacation. It was clean and the a/c was on when we arrived. Never know what to expect when rental is done on the internet, but this was more than we expected. The owners have done a great job and made us feel like we were at home. The pool and jacuzzi area is so relaxing and there was a full moon while we were there, so it was beautiful at night also. Screen porch is a plus for drinking morning coffee or relaxing in the evening. We would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family and plan on going back ourselves in late Summer. My husband and I just returned from the Purple Parrot two days ago and are already missing it! The resort is perfect for a romantic getaway and families too. This unit's poolside location really made our stay-we loved the awesome view and listening to the peaceful waterfalls from our front door! There's also a small screened porch on the front for shade-very nice. Everything that we needed was already in the unit; we especially loved the fact that linens were provided and we only needed to bring beach towels. The beach is literally a one minute drive down the road with a free public parking area. There are ample restaurants in the area, although not an abundance considering the number of guests in the multiple highrise condos on the beach. A major shopping mall is located about 30 min. away in Pensacola, and there are small strip malls along the way. Walmart and Target are a short drive away; we stopped in to get groceries for the week at Walmart before checking in. Perdido Key beach is not a touristy area; we found it to be very quiet overall. If you're looking for a beach with a little more to do-miniature golf, etc.-Pensacola Beach is a half-hour's drive and is also awesome. We also discovered a great new shopping area called The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, just a short drive across the state line. There's a movie theater and ferris wheel there along with lots of nice little shops. We highly recommend the Purple Parrot and the Perdido Key area and hope to return one day!!

The moment you drive in you know you are on vacation greeted by cute pastel colored villas, tiki bar surrounded by waterfalls and crystal blue pools. The screened patio faces the pool and waterfall and is where we enjoyed our breakfasts. I was able to prepare home cooked meals for my little Navy girl which is important after not being home for 6 months. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to bake bread and cookies for her friends on base. We visited Orange beach just up the street and in Alabama sugary white powder sand. We visited the State Park Beach and enjoyed the bay side more than the beach side because of the sea life. We also kayaked Perdido River. Finally we settled down to the warm jets of the Jacuzzi and did laps at the indoor heated pool. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The villa was comfortable, clean and accommodating. Great Romantic Getaway on Perdido Key!

I just got back from a wonderful week spent in the Island Time Villa at the Purple Parrot. This place met all of my expectations and more! The villa is just beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay (including all needed cooking equipment). Billy and Pam were a pleasure to work with and very accommodating and courteous. I had never been to Perdido Key and Johnson's Beach provided a very romantic setting for me to propose to my now fiancee at sunset! This villa is perfect for a young couple to enjoy the pool, the night life at the tiki bar and lounge on the pristine, private-feeling beach only 1/4 mile away. The Purple Parrot is also very close to the Flora Bama and other great night spots. Keep up the good work Billy and Pam! I'm sure we'll be back next year and for years to come.

Love Perdido Key, Love the Purple Parrot, Love this unit! Billy and Pam were wonderful to work with and stayed in great communication. The Island-Time experience is really relaxing! We enjoyed this place more than some we've stayed at that were directly on the beach. I would have to say that this unit is literally the best one in the entire complex. Sitting on the screened-in porch, you are looking directly at the pool, which is maybe 20 feet away, and just to the left is the tiki bar. We could sit and watch the band each night from our porch! Anyway, I've read all the reviews here and they are all positive. I just wanted to add that there are four good restaurants within walking distance. The Jellyfish sushi bar is great! Bella Luna Pizzeria has authentic NY-style pizza and is great. The Oyster bar is on the bay and we enjoyed it. There's also a Mexican restaurant, but we didn't have time to eat there. Billy and Pam have information about good restaurants in the unit if you need suggestions. Again, thanks very much for a great experience. Hope to rent the unit again soon.

I have to start by saying u have a wonderful place and i think it is the best location in Purple Parrot!!! My girlfriends and i loved staying there and hope to make it a yearly trip. We actually stayed at the pool more then the beach because it was beautiful and tropical. The villa had everything u could want and need. We loved going to the tiki bar and meeting new ppl, and loved being able to sit on our front porch and listen to the bands play. Thanks again for sharing your place and i hope to return soon.... Just spent a wonderful weekend in this pristine condominium. Plenty of extra cooking supplies were also provided. There is a large selection of DVD's to choose from and state of the art flat screens to view on! The sofa bed was extra comfy. The unit is directly on the pool so you can watch your children swim from the screen porch. The tiki bar is lively, but once in the confines of the condo it is peaceful.

FUN GET AWAY

Me and my family stayed in this condo for 3 nights in the end of august. we had a blast! the out door pool and hot tub was AMAZING!! The music was also very entertaining we just sat right there on the porch drank our wine and listened to all the excitement...The decor in this condo was VERY nice, almost makes me wish i lived there. OH and that bed was the BEST bed i have ever slept in, your body just sinks in. The only bad things i could say (which didnt ruin my weekend by any means) was that the condo above us was rented by a lady with 3 little kids that ran all over all day AND night, you can hear every footstep through the ceiling. So keep in mind this is a downstairs unit. Also we love to cook and there was only 1 pot that was tiny.So i would advise you bring 1 or 2 of your own!! I will deff stay in this condo again!

Owner response:Heather,thank you for your kind remarks,yes this is a down stairs unit,and can be a little noisy at times,but none the less,you can't beat the pool side location.We try very hard each time we are at our villa to make sure that everything is there for everyone to use during their rental,wether it be pots/pans,or utensils,sometimes you rent in between,our visits and are left needing some little something that someone else has misplaced ,thrown away,or broke,and we were not advised of it in time to get it replaced before your rental.Thank you for letting us know what we need to replace. Had a great vacation

We chose this condo because it was so close to the pool. I was able to sit on the screened in porch and watch my husband and daughter swim while my other daughter slept inside. The sleeper sofa was very comfortable for our children. The one thing to consider when renting this over a weekend and with children is that any bands or loud music from the Tiki Bar can be heard very clearing inside the condo. We only had one night of loud music and our kids were so exhausted that they slept right through it, but light sleepers should be aware of that possibility. Overall, our experience was fantastic and we would recommend this resort and this specific condo to any small family.

Fun in the sun from July

We stayed 5 nights at the end of July and had the best vacation ever! The pool was wonderful and perfect for our 2 year old daughter. The tiki bar was great form mom and dad too! The condo was the perfect size for us and so close to the pool. The condo was decorated and so clean. I did miss being right on the beach but the pool made up for it. I selected this condo because we have a small child and I knew how much she loves a pool and was not sure how she would like the ocean and sand. We did go to the beach everyday as she loved it! It wa only a very short distance. The only draw back to that is here it is November and I am still cleaning sand out of the back of my SUV!!!!! I would recommend this stay for your vacation if your looking to get away without a hassle and relax, perfect for any age! very short drive in many directions to some great places and would highly recommend driving to Gulf Shores to go to Lulus!!!! great time had by all!!

We rented 2 condos for this stay. We gave our daughter her pick of the two. She chose this one because they have a baby and this unit is steps away from the pool. When the baby was sleeping they could sit by the pool with the monitor. The owners are great and I would definitely recommend Islandtime!

Great Place for Families

This is our second time staying at The Purple Parrot, the first time in this unit. The condo was just lovely, our kids love it here and yes, it us just steps from the great pool that we spent lots of time in soaking up the suds, I mean sun... Really, nothing like carting all our swim floats, toys, towels, fins and whatever else ten feet or so compared to clear across the compound as we did last year. I didn't have a parking slip but that was taken care of with one phone call to Billy. Pam was also very nice to talk to as well. Unfortunately, the Tiki Bar we remembered so well from last year closed the first night we were there due to those owners moving on to other things. It was to open again after we left and I'm sure the new owners will do justice to the Parrot. The Blue Angels fly on Tues and Wed mornings and the Air and Naval Museum is great no matter what age. I can't say enough about the local eateries, you'll just have to try them all. Billy and Pam have menus and such available in the condo to look at while you decide. There were also activities for the kids in the condo which was a nice touch for parents who can't pack it all. Without a doubt, we will return to this condo, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

My family and I had a great time.The condo is very nice and comfortable.We loved the pool which is right outside the door and just steps away from the tiki bar. The beach is just 2 minutes away. Our son loved the waterfall in the pool. Would highly recommend staying here, we can't wait to go back.
