We had a group of 13 guys visiting New Orleans and stayed with Kim & Co. at this house. It was perfect for us. The big attic room that has several beds made for a great spot to hang out and recap our nights through our hangovers. Lots of porch and deck space to enjoy the weather, and a big, open, well-equipped kitchen for cooking. Really easy to access anywhere you wanted to go, too. We spent a fair amount of time at restaurants on St. Charles Ave. and Magazine St., both within walking distance (a very pleasant walk through a fairly quiet residential neighborhood full of old New Orleans houses). Several in our group made use of the St. Charles streetcar line to get into Jackson Sq, the French Qtr and Bourbon St. We mostly used taxis, never more than $20 each direction for a cab with several of us. The welcome info at the house indicated a preferred taxi company who we used almost exclusively; prompt dispatches and cordial drivers made for a spot-on recommendation. All in all, staying at Maison du Parc made our trip more comfortable, more relaxing, and more affordable. Highly recommended for any big group.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family assembled from across US to have Christmas in New Orleans. Ages ranged from 12 mos to 52. This house was perfect for the visit. Close to St Charles trolley line (walking distance). Ample parking around the house, and PLENTY of room in the house. Very close to grocery store. Easy drive to Audubon Park as well as the Warehouse and Quarter. House is perfect for families with good sized kitchen and bedrooms. Clean and well appointed. Excellent communication with owner. This house and location made for a reunion and Christmas to remember!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This rental house fit our group in so many ways. We had more than enough room for gathering as well as for privacy. With ages ranging from 1 year to 60+ (babies, preschoolers, college students, young marrieds, the parents of the groom and a couple of their friends), the 17 of us enjoyed every part of the house. The kitchen is more spacious than the photo indicates. It included all needed dinnerware, pots & pans, utensils, etc. The third-floor 5-bed suite is enormous; the beds are a comfortable distance from one another to give everyone his own space. The college students - and the baby's family - were pleased to find the washer and dryer in the basement. There were several TVs throughout the house, although there was too much to do in New Orleans to waste time in front of the TV! All our relatives who were staying in other rentals in the area were amazed and jealous of the place we had rented. Not only is it a comfortable place, but also a beautiful home. The St. Charles St. trolley that runs from the French Quarter to the Audubon Park was within easy walking distance. There were good restaurants within walking distance as well. A Rouse's supermarket and Winn-Dixie required a short car ride. About a block from the house, there was a fresh fruit and produce truck (not sure if he's there all the time). Kim, the owner, was readily available by email and phone before we got there and by phone after we arrived. She had a "pack n play" available for the baby when we arrived, too. If our family ever gathers in New Orleans again, we would certainly hope to rent Maison du Parc. We highly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed at Maison du Park for a bachelor party last weekend and had a great time. Kim, the property owner, was easy to get a hold of, pleasant to deal with and there were no surprises. The house was very clean and much larger (and nicer) in person than the photos make it appear. This house is perfect for a large group as the living areas and bedrooms are of ample size (the third floor bedroom is enormous). Even with 14 adults it felt like we could comfortably accommodate more. The location in Uptown is great and close to everything. Our group especially liked the adjacent large grassy park where we were able to play wiffle ball every day. Overall I highly recommend this house and look forward to staying here again next time I come to NOLA with a large group.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I can't say enough abut this great house. My group included about 14 ladies from Memphis and Chicago. We come down every year for the Iris Mardi Gras parade. In years past we have opted to stay in a variety of hotels throughout the city, but we decided this year to stay at a home so that we could spend a little more time together, as this is the one time a year we get to see each other. Mission accomplished! The layout of this house really gave us the spaces we needed to sit around and enjoy each others company, yet we also had the space to enjoy some alone time if we wanted. The location of the house is ideal to catch the trolley and head to the French Quarter or catch the parades up on St. Charles. The kitchen gave us a great place to perpare some meals and enjoy coffee and the front porch is awesome. The house was very clean and decorated to reflect the time period of the house but provided all of the modern amenities. I HIGHLY recommend this house for girls trips or a larger family gathering. We hope to stay there again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This beautiful home was a great spot for 17 friends to stay while exploring New Orleans. The location was conveniently located a few blocks from the St. Charles Street Car Line, making for inexpensive transportation to the French Quarter. Though it is an old home, we loved the way it had been recently updated by the owners, especially the modern kitchen. The large island and breakfast nook turned out to be our favorite place to gather. The owners were very attentive in their correspondence and promptly answered any questions. The description provided accurately describes the sleeping arrangements, which was very helpful in planning for a large group. There were many positive comments about how comfortable the beds were. I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We've recently returned from our 4-night stay in New Orleans and would like to share our feelings on the visit: WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! It had been ten years since our last journey to the Crescent City, and boy, was it worth the wait! The energy and good vibes were positively palpable. And the real highlight of the trip had to be the amazing house where fifteen best friends all stayed together! We can't say enough about this incredible residence, The Maison du Parc....it offered the perfect layout for sleeping accommodations for our large group. Additionally, the huge kitchen and connecting deck in back served as the ideal location for our many BBQ/Happy Hour get-togethers....we never once felt confined or crowded (like you might in a hotel). We look forward to staying at this beautiful home again sometime, and would recommend it to anyone who may be considering their own New Orleans visit in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family stayed here for daughters graduation/family reunion. Beautiful and comfortable, the house was fantastic. We had 16 people ranging in age from 5 years to 83 years. House accommodated everyone and is in a perfect location for all NOLA activities. We will never stay at a hotel for future visits, we will always seek out the Gagnon's properties.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: Gilles and Kim are avid preservationists, always searching for properties in New Orleans that have seen better days, but have good bones to work with. Maison du Parc was such a property. Built in the late 1800's but having had several owners that were unable to properly care for it, by 2000 had gone into a state of being uninhabitable. After two years of rehabbing including gutting to the studs, Maison du Parc has become a proud and stately home in Uptown New Orleans.
Why the Owner Chose Other New Orleans Properties:
New Orleans... proud to call it home! We are investing in the future of our unique city.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Maison du Parc is a place to gather family and friends in a spacious, well appointed property.
Located on Samuel Square, offering a beautiful view of Uptown's unique architecture and only a few short blocks to St. Charles Ave. historic streetcar line for easy access to the French Quarter, Convention Center, Dome and Audubon Zoo and Park. Pascal's Manale is only two blocks away for oysters and BBQ shrimp and some very tasty gumbo and crab cakes.
