Why the Owner Chose Grayton Beach
I grew up running around Grayton Beach as a youngster. My grandmother had a cottage called the "Cole Bin" and it's still in the family. Grayton has a great beach, beautiful gulf water and a coastal dune lake that sometimes flows into the gulf.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Walk to the Red Bar Restaurant-a fun and funky place with live music and great crabcakes. Borago Restaurant is also nearby and boasts wonderful Italian cuisine and to die for maritinis. Bike paths are nearby and connect you to Watercolor and Seaside just a couple of miles away. Rent kajaks or YOLO boards and enjoy paddling along Western Lake.
World famous restaurant and bar, with a simple but varied menu consisting of 8 items. Live jazz band every night. Sunday brunch. Great Food and Great Fun.
Casual beach restaurant and bar. Views of the gulf from the rooftop seating area. Great sushi bar and occasional live music. www.shortyssurfside.com (850)468-0417
A convenient store with everyday items as well as fishing gear at Yellowfin located inside the store. Bike rentals and kayak rentals available at the General Store.
Upscale (but casual) dining in a comfortable atmosphere serving italian and seafood dishes. Full-service bar. www.boragorestaurant.com (850)231-9167
Bed & Breakfast that serves a delicious vegetarian breakfast served with a hug. Live music for Sunday brunch and on some weeknights in the Backyard of Love among the beautiful outdoor garden. (850)231-2733

Humans AND dog felt right at home from the moment we arrived

After a longer than expected drive in and arriving much later than anticipated, my husband, dog, and I arrived at Moon Baby. My dog took right to the fenced in yard and as my husband and I entered the house, we both instantly felt right at home. The whole house is absolutely charming. The place is nicely decorated with a well appointed kitchen. Only minor complaint was the house was a bit dark in the evening. But under cabinet lighting and another lamp in the LR would do the trick. The screened in porch AND the front deck was such a great asset to have and each got used a lot. Little touches like extra pillows and blankets, an iPod/iPhone docking stereo, tons of games (even Twister!), supplied beach towels & chairs, full size washer/dryer w/supplied washing soap, even QUALITY toilet paper were so very appreciated. And the master closet! Such space, you could almost put a twin bed in it. Speaking of the master bedroom, it was SOOO large with separate seating area and cozy, large bed with a lovely down comforter. Perfect for the chilly nights we had during Thanksgiving. Moon Baby is located on a lovely, tree-lined, quiet street. The only noise we really ever heard was the A/C unit of the house next door. It was a bit noisy when it came on, but we quickly got used to it. And when the surf picked up, you could just hear it down the street. The lovely Grayton Beach was a VERY short walk down the street to the board walk. Just know, take a flash light if you go at night as GB is very dark at night. That was supplied too! Had we chosen to, we could have remained in GB and had all the food, drinks, and entertainment we could have ever needed, all within a VERY short walking distance. And a special thank you to Kitty, the owner, who was so easy to work with. When we briefly thought we might need to change to a bigger house for possible friends joining us, she was totally willing to transfer our deposit, etc. to Cole Baby, her other property. And when that didn't happen, she was kind and patient with our course changes. Such a special property for a couple to relax over a long weekend. And our dog, Roux sends a special 'WOOF WOOF' and a paw pump for the awesome yard.

For the second half of our vacation, we enjoyed the spontaneity and wonder of youth. My boys enjoyed the ocean and riding the bikes. Even some rain couldn't dampen our spirits as we all enjoyed more of Moon Baby's magic. Thank you for providing a lovely home-away-from-home.

Thank you for allowing us to vacation at Moon Baby in Grayton Beach. We both sooo needed some down time from work and bringing our furry babies with us for some R & R was a plus!! They so enjoyed their morning walks. Well, it's back to the salt mines next week. One day soon, we will return and our hope is to retire at a place just like the laid back style of Moon Baby at Grayton Beach. Thanks again for a wonderful-much needed vacation!

We had such a wonderful and very relaxing stay at Moon Baby. My family immediately felt so at home in your beautiful cottage. The weather was perfect and the kids had so much fun fishing, swimming, and crabbing at night. What a great place to wake up Father's Day morning. We never want to stay anywhere else. Thank You!

Thank you for a magical experience after a first-time visit to Grayton Beach. It's a tapestry of lovely color and texture and a feast for the senses. I feel like I have visited a place far, far away, even though this is an easy day's drive. I will be back again to share the experience with others.

Where do I begin? Absolutely love the Moon Baby, Grayton Beach & Kitty. The cottage is so cozy and comfortable and most importantly private. My wife and I have visited three times now! If you want to enjoy the beach, cycling, paddling, great food and people then you've arrived at your destination. Everything moves at a slower pace in Grayton and this is exactly why we love it!

Our stay at Moon Baby cottage couldn't have been nicer. The interior is nicely furnished with local art, comfy bedding, and new appliances. The screened porch and deck are great for bbq'ing and hanging out. Would defininitely recommend to anyone looking for an Old Florida vacation. Walk everywhere, no high-rises, great beach, good restaurants and shops, and friendly people.
