This is a great place to spend a week in the Brainerd/Nisswa area. You can enjoy the near by Paul Bunyan trail and downtown Nisswa. Roy Lake is a part of the Gull Lake chain, so you can access all the lakes (Nisswa, Upper Gull, Gull, etc.) very easily. The fishing is very good right in Roy Lake. I caught northern pike, sunfish, crappie, and largemouth bass. It was a little warm for walleye when we were there. We were able to have a fish fry from some of our catch! The pontoon is awesome! Perfect for trolling along the entire chain of lakes. The cabin is very well appointed and has everything you need for the stay. The bedrooms are very nice and as a whole the cabin is very clean. The A/C was nice to have although we didn't use it much. The deck was great for dining and relaxing! Honestly, this was our best experience in renting from a private cabin owner. The owners have a gem here in a prime spot in the northwoods. We look forward to getting back real soon.
