The house is beautifully decorated, yet comfortable and easy to maintain.
It's perfect for families with kids who want to beat the heat and have fun by spending the summer in the Hamptons, for retirees and couples who want a great social life on the East End, or for several couples who want to rest and relax and hang out together and check out the fabled Hamptons night life.
We are on a private road, in historic Springs, where artists such as Jackson Pollack and de Kooning were inspired by the beautiful light and blissful micro-climate. The house is a classic-- grey shingled Hampton-style, but built in the late 80's, and with all amenities. The heated 20 x 40 pool is safe for kids, fully fenced and locked, but serene for adults and kids--we have a diving board and lots of chaises, floats and furniture for comfort, as well as a view of beautiful plantings of hydrangeas and lavender, the trees and the sky, from the private pool area (in summer).
The house is comfortable yet elegant---the eat-in-kitchen has a long refectory table and looks out to the back patio and trees beyond, it's fully equipped for gourmet dining. Every room has charm. We have an office with fax and wi-fi in case you need to stay connected, + cable, DVD players and ipod players.
East Hampton has every conceivable amenity-- from gourmet dining (Nick and Toni's and Eaat Hampton Grill are favorites nearby and Robert's in Watermill), a variety of local places, take-out or prepared food (Citterella's is a one-stop gourmet paradise) great pizza, seafood and Chinese food places. Nearby is the famed Springs General Store where Jackson Pollock traded paintings for canned beans, and where you can get a newspaper and homemade breakfast items and picnic fare, rent kayaks, + take advantage of the school playgrounds, library and youth park with all equipment available. Some of the best ocean beaches on the East Coast are in East Hampton, and the bay beaches are perfect for swimming with for small children. Montauk-- the Lighthouse, surfing and fish restaurants makes a great destination. The town of East Hampton has plenty of both chic and just-fun shops-- from Dylan's Candy, Dressen's donuts to Tiffany's and Ralph Lauren + an incredibly beautiful and well equipped library and bookstores for rainy days. Come back from a day at the beach or in town to our beautifully furnished house, and relax-- its affordable yet DIVINE!!

What a wonderful getaway we had in this East Hampton home!! Spending most of our time at the house, we were pleasantly surprised to find everything we needed was already provided ... from pool toys, to books, music, cooking aids, etc... The home was also comfortable and very nicely furnished. Being a family with two young children, the layout of the property was ideal. We had the shaded patio with barbecue out back for our lunches and some dinners and the beautifully landscaped (and gated) pool to the side with sun most of the day. We were blessed to have great weather for 9 of our 10day stay and the one rainy day we did have was a perfect chance to explore the Children's Museum just 20 minutes away in Bridgehampton. Being in The Springs, we had the privacy and quiet we had hoped for, with deer and bunnies to boot. Yet we were close enough to town to make the quickest of runs to the ice cream shop, super markets and even Starbucks. The town of East Hampton really is picture perfect offering high-end stores to mom and pop shops and many restaurants for evenings out. The home's Springs location is also so close to the surrounding towns. Wolffer Estate Vineyard only a few miles away in Sagaponack offers live music outdoors on the weekends and made for a beautiful night with the children and dog ... just bring a blanket and enjoy!! We also loved being able to spend a day in Montauk, which was a great END to our stay. My family is looking forward to visiting again next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

The website photos and description of this property don't begin to portray the stunning interior, the warmth and comfort of the living spaces, the lovely spacious grounds and the plush master bedroom and bath. The main level: dark stained wood floors, living room and sitting room/library (extensive selection of books, magazines and CDs) beautifully decorated in an English country cottage style with incredibly comfortable sofas and club chairs and a large flat screen TV. The large country kitchen includes every amenity (well stocked pantry and cooking tools). The light filled adjoining dining area has a large refectory table that's perfect for family dining or rainy day activities. I am an artist and did some of my best work on this table, spreading out my materials with the outdoor light streaming in through the patio doors. An office with WIFI is connected to the dining room. Perfect! I welcomed rainy days to read, paint and relax. Outside is large patio area equipped with state of the art gas grill and large dining set to accommodate family and friends. My grandkids loved the swing and slide in play are. The heated pool is wonderful and set up with lounges. There's a pool float, pool toys and water wings for the little ones. There is nothing the owner left out. In addition to downstairs guest bedroom, there are two guestrooms on upper level with bath and tub. Then there is the lavish master spacious master suite with super comfortable bed (we woke up every morning feeling great) and large flat screen TV. The bathroom is stunning. The owner also included exercise items, large gym ball and weights--nice surprise. This level is fully carpeted. This home is perfectly located. Ocean and bay beaches and picture perfect East Hampton village minutes away. Amagansett, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and Montauk providing additional venues for exploring, shopping and dining are short drives from house. And my favorite "kicking-back" spot--Springs General Store, less than 5 min. away. That's where to go for great coffee, breakfast or lunch and sit on the porch or stroll across road to pond and contemplate the beauty of the area. I highly recommend this perfect property for a heavenly vacation that you will never want to end.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Blissful is the appropriate adjective for our week long stay at the Harrison home. And it is a home, not merely a house. The location and setting are idyllic. There is everything you could possibly desire for comfort and inspiration, from the music library, to the books, cooking utensils and on and on. A Wonderful kitchen and dining room. We literally could not have asked for anything more because everything was already here. The pool and huge lawn are spectacular and the patio with the grill, fantastic. The house is large but not overwhelming. Everything is comfortable and tastefully decorated but you felt like you could 'live' there. Only four miles to town with all East Hampton has to offer. Interestingly enough, aside from some art exhibits we stayed close to home. Added plus: The beds are very comfortable, the showers work great, and the pool is wonderful to swim in. A great house for entertaining or de-stressing. We can't wait to come back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: I am an Art expert and my husband is a CPA; we have two teenage children. We have busy lives in New York City, full of cultural and work related activities. One of our daughters is an aspiring actress, the other is a University student. We invite you to experience the serenity and ease of this beautiful property.
Why the Owner Chose East Hampton:
In our opinion, East Hampton is the most interesting Hampton town-- it is filled with artists, writers, creative and successful people of all sorts, as well as 'Bonackers'--local people who were originally farmers and fishermen... all are devotees of the town and want to keep it historic and lovely--its one of the oldest settlements on the East End of Long Island. It has a thriving theater, a great plex movie theater, the finest restaurants as well as the most basic snack shops-- great fish, local produce, wineries with excellent vintages, gorgeous views, sensational beaches, fun nightlife and loads of benefit parties if one chooses them, but social life is entirely optional. There is a big variety of things to do with kids, keeping them happy even on rainy days.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our kids went to tennis and riding camp out here. We enjoyed the restaurants and the occasional party. We loved the EH library and puttering around in antique shops, yard sales, bookstores and boutiques. We loved looking out the bedroom window on the peaceful property with its green lawn and plantings...it's a perfect sophisticated vacation place, and now available as a full year, seasonal or short term rental.
