This contemporary, year-round beach home is located on the scenic South Point of Biddeford Pool, a quaint community that will evoke memories of childhood vacations at the shore. You'll enjoy expansive beach and ocean views from the house, the large deck, and the "annex" above the detached garage; it's common to see the lobstermen haul their traps while you're eating breakfast. While you grill your dinner or enjoy a clam-and-lobster feast on the deck, you'll be treated to the sight of shore birds flying home over the marsh as the sun drops from view.
With everything you need on the main floor, you'll appreciate the convenience of the 3-bedroom main house that sleeps 6, with a queen, a double, and 2 twin beds; you'll also find a fully-equipped kitchen, bright and cheery living and dining areas, and a full bath. The walk-out basement offers a ping-pong table, washer and dryer, and another full bath. A great space for a second couple, the annex offers privacy with a comfy family room, half-bath, and a sleeping area with a queen bed and room for a crib or child's cot. The large grassy yard is great for kids (and grownups) to play in.
You'll have plenty of room for horseshoes, badminton, bocce, etc., and you've got an outside shower for those sandy feet. You're just a three-minute walk from a white-sand beach stretching for 3 miles and flanked by conservation land, a picture-postcard retreat center and a freshwater pond. A five-minute walk will lead you to explore rocky tidal pools, or stroll the Audubon trail for outstanding bird-watching and fabulous views of the islands and lighthouse. Walk or ride a bike down into the village, where you can rent a kayak or windsurfer and explore the harbor and large tidal lake ("the Pool").
Although you're off the beaten path, you won't have to go any further than the village market for everything from gourmet groceries to kites and boogie boards, not to mention a lobster pound and restaurant featuring take-out seafood dinners and hot breakfast overlooking the harbor. If you feel like roving a bit farther, there's Kennebunkport to the south and Portland to the north, and there's even an amusement park and boardwalk in Old Orchard Beach.
