Great place a little hard to find

My friends and I stayed here for 4 nights this past week and here's what we thought: Pros: -Clean, newly remodeled 3 bedrooms apartment -Security - 24hr doorman -Maid (Carmenza was simply AMAZING!). -Wireless internet -US phone line to make calls for free. We also had a local line available for free. Cons: -Hard to find location for most (taxi's and guests). We kept having to tell drivers where to turn and initially got lost a couple of times. -Shower water pressure is lacking Overall, great place with a friendly owner and wonderful maid that I would stay at again.
Owner response:Syed, thank you for your comments; You will be happy to learn that: 1- We have fixed water preasure. 2- In the future, I will give guests specific written instructions to give to their drivers on how to get to our apartment easily Hope to see you back soon. John

We stayed there for a week with our teenage daugther and our 10 year old kid. This was our first time in Bogotá and we enjoyed it very much; the apartment contributed to this a lot. There was no rush for taking an Hotel breakfast. You can feel as comfortable as at home. Every person has his own area, without bothering others .It was great to have a high speed internet connection, cable Tv, free international phoneccalls, and the apartment was well located, in a safe neighborhood, near shopping malls and small convenience stores. Carmenza, the maid, is a big plus. She is a very attentive person, who took care of the household chores with joy ( a very diffcult thing to find), and she likes to cook, which was wonderful for us. Mr. John is an excelent host, a very responsible person. I strongly recommend this apartment. Undoubtedly I will go there again if I come back to Bogotá.

We stayed in Bogota for 6 weeks, living in 4 places. This was by far the nicest of them all! It is a few blocks from the Transmillenio (train) and walking distance to several malls. There is a small park with two basketball courts, a soccer court and plenty of play equipment for smaller children. The neighborhood is very safe, comfortable and all the shops for daily needs. Carmenza, the maid, was amazing! She will shop for your food, cook all your meals, wash your clothes and keeps the apartment very clean. We plan to travel back to Bogota in a year or two with all five of your teenage children and I would definitely come back to this apartment
Owner response: Dear Therese; Thank you very much for your excellent Review, I like it very much. I want you to know that you were an excellent guest, one of the best, that you will be welcome whever you come to Bogota and that you are very special. Best Regards to you and your family, John

We stayed here for a week in March 2011. We were really happy with our choice and were really comfortable in the apartment. The office/comms facilities are a huge bonus and much appreciated. Also, the landlord being only a few blocks away was helpful for advice and assistance. The only downside was that the showers needed updating. Such a nice, modern apartment deserves bathrooms to match! We would also have appreciated a bit more upfront info about the services i.e. we were happy to provide breakfast and lunch for our maid Carmen Patricia, but we weren't made aware that this was expected (apparently it is law in Colombia!?) until 3 days into our stay which was rather embarrassing. All in all, I would recommend and would stay here again.
Owner response: Dear Sharon; Thank you very much for your fine review. In Boogota, water is heated by¨a ¨´Calentador de paso¨ that heats it as it goes bye. Because of this, not all 3 bathrooms can be used at same time, otherwise, there is not enought hot water for all. I am sorry about this but, that is the system here. Concerning breakfast and lunch for maid, that is the custom here. I did not know about it until maid told me. Next time I will make sure to tell guests about this. Thank you for your business, we appreciate them very much. Regards, John

We really enjoyed Bogota and this apartment was awesome!!! Every day, the maid came in and made breakfast for us and left the place spotless. She cooked sooooo good!!!. This place was centrally located with easy access to all the great places to visit. Also, the door man was always friendly and helpful. We felt safe staying there and had no problems whatsoever. You just cant beat the free internet all inclusive with the maid and doorman and cable, etc... Thank you John for everything. We would love to stay again in the near future. We totally recommend this apartment.
Owner response:Dear Toni; It was a pleasure to have you and your family staying with us. You were terrific guests, very caring about our property, Please come back soon, it would be a pleasure to see you again. All the best to you and your family. John

Three friends recently visiting Bogota decided to opt for a VRBO rental and not the traditional hotel choices. Immediately, we were made to feel very welcomed by the condo owner who explained all the ammenities. The condo was in walking distance to mass transportation, grocery stores and restaurants and the Unicentro Mall. We found it spacious, clean and well maintained and had 24 hour security. We enjoyed the use of the telephone to the States at no additional cost and the included Wi-Fi. As stated in a previous review, Carmenza was truly AMAZING!!!! I would not hesitate to reccomend this unit if you are considering a visit to Bogota. Book it now!

We stayed at this wonderful place from 03/31 to 04/06 Even if you have not stayed in Bogota before this place has a lot to offer. you have three upper level Malls nearby. Unicentro, Santa fe, and Carrefour. The Santa Fe is as good as the Andino, but cheaper. You have a Transmilenio stop nearby in case you want to experience the mass transportation System (Only recommended for explorers). Carmenza the maid was amazing! She can cook all your meals and wash your clothes. You have a village nearby to find groceries, food, fruit, medicines, even dry cleaning! I would definetely come back to this apt.

My wife and I stayed in the apartment 3 months from mid-December 09 until mid-March 10 to escape the terrible winter in our NC home. The apartment is like new and very comfortable and the landlord was always concerned that everything was maintained and in good working order. He makes a special effort to ensure his guests are well taken care of. We stayed in touch with family and friends thru Skype and were able to handle business interests back in the states with the telephone and office equipment provided in the apartment. The location was perfect, a wonderful bread shop, parks, barber and beauty shops close by and just a short walking distance (about 15 minutes) or a very cheap taxi ride from 2 large shopping centers, wonderful restaurants (we recommend Crepes and Waffles for their daily menu and a spectacular brunch on Sunday or La Bonga del Sinu for the best hamburgers in Bogota) and churches. The neighborhood is quite and safe. The maid, Carmenza, was an absolute jewel. She kept the apartment spotless, did laundry, and was an excellent cook. We highly recommend this apartment and living in a typical Colombian neighborhood as a way to experience Bogota from a very different perspective.
