"Sunsets on the beach" While the interior of this condo was nice and met our needs, the special appeal is its lana'i. We spent most of our time when at Napili Shores there. It is very private, just above tidal pools and has straight-on views of Molokai. We also were able to watch sunsets over the island of Lana'i. The Gazebo and Cafe O'Lei restaurants offer great food. We did not need much help, but when we did, the Napili Shores staff was gracious and helpful.

"DEFINES RELAXATION ..." We arrived on a Saturday at approx. 6:30ish. We checked in at the front desk and had no issues. I would not say the people manning the desk were overly welcoming but I didn't care. The unit was as advertised. Exactly as depicted in the photos. The oceanfront location is why we chose it and it was exactly what I wanted it to be ... RIGHT on the ocean. Whale watching from the lanai was fabulous. There were teenie, tiny ants visible on the kitchen counter and wall first thing in the morning each day. I have experienced this in every unit I have rented in Maui and on Kauai. No biggie. The Napili Shores is very laid back. The BBQ's are absolutely "pristine" and a pleasure to use. Had lunch one day at The Gazebo restaurant on the property. It was nice. Apparently people go gaga for the pancakes ... not a big breakfast eater so didn't bother waiting in the HUGE line for pancakes. Napili Bay itself is fantastic. The Sea House at the Napili Kai Resort at the other end of Napili Bay has a lovely open to the beach bar ... happy hour is very good ... the ahi tuna is delish. On Sat. Feb. 27th at 5:30 a.m. we were awakened by a Napili Shores employee loudly knocking on our unit door to announce that the tsunami siren was going to go off at 6:00 a.m. and that a tsunami was expected at Maui by 11:30 a.m. We were up and outta there in 10 min. and drove up to the Honoloa General Store (high ground) in Kapalua. In the end I was too scared to spend our last night on Maui at our "ocean front" unit at Napili Shores ... stupid, I know ... instead we booked into The Ritz Carlton (8th floor). Made for a rather expensive last night.

"Great Location, Fantastic View, What's not to Like?" This studio condo, maybe thirty feet from the Pacific surf, was ideal for my needs. I stayed there for the week of Thanksgiving, 2009, and did not take vacation days from my computer software job in California. I attended all the meetings via internet, and wrote a ton of software! Done by 3PM every day, I was free to explore the island. A gorgeous sandy beach is about half a block to the north. Strip mall with a grocery store 1/2 mile to the south. The condo was quite comfortable for one, should be the same for two if you're *really good friends* :-). Try walking up to the Ritz Carlton for a drink at sunset!
