This is a full service grocery store. They also sell wine and beer, so this can be a one stop shop.
Absolutely one of the best places for breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. A local favorite.

I can't say enough good things about this condo. I was unsure about booking it bc it's listed as a 1 bedroom with loft. But Peter told me that it would work for us, and he was completely right. The condo is full of light and very large with 20' ceilings that make it feel super spacious. The loft area is really like a 2nd bedroom- with a full sized bed and a half bath. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in this space. The weather was perfect for us to use the outdoor deck. I also really liked having a dining table where we could eat our meals, and having a grocery store a block away made shopping and cooking totally easy. I agree with the other reviewers that hotels do not compare in terms of amenities - esp when you are traveling with kids. Never used VRBO before but I will prob never stay in a hotel again if all our experiences are like this one! Thanks again, Peter!!!

Located in a very cute neighborhood this home away from home worked out quite well for our family of 5. With all the furnishings of home, it was nice and worked out in every way imaginable. The metro was extremely convienent making a rental car very much unneeded. A welcome package was provided with booking which answered many of our questions. Based upon our experience with this rental, the chioce of VRBO v. Hotel is no contest, VRBO is definately a part of our future vacation planning. In the words of another renter we encountered on the lower floor (different suite) of this multistory row house, "Given the costs of hotels these days, I think VRBO is a much better arrangement."
Owner response:Thank you. We're glad you had a great time in our nations capital!

Stayed here in August. The place is big, spotless and brand new. Even the dishes, bedding are new. We loved the modern decor and outdoor deck. Great location, great neighborhood, very close to metro, restaurants, grocery, etc. We are coming back next August and will stay here again.

If you couldn't tell from the photos, this condo is gorgeous! Everything in it is brand new and it is very tastefully decorated. We were so excited when we walked in to see how big it actually is! The vaulted ceilings definitely add to the feeling of spaciousness. We were initially apprehensive because it is listed on VRBO as a 1 BR, but we were a family of 6 and slept very comfortably- the loft acts as a second bedroom. The kids loved the neighborhood, and everything we would need in terms of amenities was right nearby. Also, the metro (2 blocks away) made our car completely unnecessary. We were at the Smithsonian in less than 15 minutes. We are coming back next year and will definitely try to stay here again!

We stayed for one week with a family of 5 in August 2009. The condo was fantastic. The condo is just as described. Our family had a great time in DC and this is partly due to staying at this condo. The condo is two blocks from the metro, which makes DC very easy to access and navigate. If you are visiting DC, forget the car and visit the entire town by metro (the only day we used our car was to visit the Air and Space Smithsonian at the airport. The rest of the week the car sat.)The condo is in the Columbia Heights area. There are many great places to eat within 2 blocks walking. There are a couple of chains (Ruby Tuesday, Subway, Potbelly, Chipotle) and several great independents (Pete’s Pizza, Five Guys, Rumberos, The Heights, Julia’s Empanadas). We ate at a different place every night. There is also a Target, a grocery store and a CVS drug store within 2 blocks. Everything you need is available within a 5 minute walk. Our children (17, 14, and 10) took to the area. Within a couple of days, they were walking against the red lights just like the locals. We would highly recommend this condo and the convenience it offers. We would stay here again.
