Our home is located mid-island, on the west side of Sunset Beach, NC. Our home is named "Flip Flops Required" noting its laid-back beach lifestyle you will feel once you step inside our home. Our home is furnished with all modern amenities including Central Heat and Air, 4 Color Cable TVs with basic cable TV service, DVD, VCR and a fully equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, dining table for 6 people plus eat-in bar with 4 barstools and washer/dryer. The living room offers an open and airy feel with soaring ceilings but offers comfy sofas to settle back in after a long day at the beach. When returning from a "sandy" day at the beach, the enclosed outside shower offers the perfect place to rinse the sand and salt water away. Our home has a variety of porches to retreat to and you are sure to find the perfect spot for playing cards, reading a good book (from our book library) or just relaxing in the morning with a cup of coffee and your family. Choose from our street side covered porch, sundeck or roof-top widows watch. Covered parking underneath house and double driveway for ample parking. Bedding: Bedroom 1 (King), Bedroom 2 (Queen), Bedroom 3 (Queen), Loft (2 Twin beds). Non-smoking. No telephone.
Bed linens and towels are not included but can be rented from a local linen company on the Sunset Beach called Julie's Rentals. If you notify us in advance of your choice of linen rentals, we will have them delivered to the home the day of your arrival. You can also rent bikes, kayaks, beach chairs/umbrellas for the week.
Our home is located on the quiet side street, 32nd Street. The beach access is at the end of our street and just a short walk (approximately 4 minutes) from the home.

The Unique Benefits at this House
Sunset Beach, NC is a beautiful haven for relaxation and traditional family vacations. Situated at the southern most barrier island of North Carolina, Sunset Beach offers a quaint town with beautifully wide beaches, bays, creeks, marshlands and great opportunities for shelling, kayaking, biking, bird watching and turtle watching. The western end of Sunset Beach attaches itself to the infamous Bird Island. The shoreline, dunes, and marshland of Bird Island provide important habitat and nesting for species that are endangered, threatened, or of special concern, including the Kemp's Ridley and Loggerhead sea turtles. Slightly hidden among the dunes on Bird Island is a plain rural mailbox, containing an assortment of notebooks, pens, and pencils. The outside of the mailbox is marked "Kindred Spirit". Visitors use the notebooks to record inconsequential statements, special thoughts, and sometimes private prayers. Visitors have the opportunity to make public statements in complete anonymity. Enjoy ice cream, lazy walks on the beach as the sun rises and sun sets, fishing on the public pier and shopping in the quaint boutiques on the island are so much fun. If your interests are golf or fishing, this is a perfect island to kick back on and journey to the offshore waters for exciting fishing or experience one of the many championship golf courses in our area. Don't forget to try the world-famous town of Calabash (just 5 miles away) for the Best Seafood Restaurants you'll find. Lastly, for a change of pace while on vacation, Myrtle Beach, SC and Historic Wilmington, NC are both within a 40 minute drive from the island offering entertainment and attractions.
