Why the Owner Chose Lake Wylie
Our family bought this lot on Lake Wylie in 1951 as a weekend getaway and in 1993 consulted with architect Reg Narmour to design a home with a Cape Cod cedar shake exterior, a log beam interior with the feel of an Maine fishing lodge. It is a wonderfully peaceful, cottage for you and your family to enjoy during each season.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We're 15 minutes south of the Charlotte airport (which is why 2 of our 5 neighbors are airline pilots) but it feels like you're in the nearby Smoky Mountains. For our family it's been the ultimate urban escape on the banks of the historic Catawba River which has been dammed to create Lake Wylie. We're located on a peninsula with 270 degrees of water out of the main porch. Fishing, canoeing and bird watching are favorite activities.

Amazing! Gorgeous cottage, gorgeous lake! The listings was accurate. The property was so well cared for and the cottage was beautiful. The owner was great and had everything available that we would have needed. It is far enough away from the hustle but at the same time just minutes away. The kids had a great time outside and inside in the loft area. A great relaxing time away from home. Can't wait to visit again.

We loved our family vacation at the Cedar Cottage. It was cozy and charming without pretense and opulance -- but more than luxurious enough to be a wonderful vacation. The lake is perfect for small children to swim in (ours were 1, 3, 5, & 7) -- with a very nice beach area and shallow swimming place. The rooms not shown in the pictures are equally as charming, well furnished, and comfortable. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner was helpful and friendly and very easy to work with. We would definitely return.

Our recent visit to the "Lake House" was most relaxing. The home and property are well maintained. Visiting from the west, it was a great choice to have our children experience the 'life in the east'. Never before until this trip have they seen a bluejay! The location of the home was a perfect venue for watching the squirrel scurry from tree to tree, the heron feeding their young and fun at lakeside. We were excited to fish (poles and tackle included at the property) and rented some jet skis for a day on the lake. There is plenty of room for everyone in your party to have 'their own space'. We could not of been more happy with our choice of venues! We loved our visit to the Cedar Cottage on the Lake!

The listing description was accurate. The photos left me wondering what does most of the house look like. When we walked in I was so pleasantly surprised. The house is just beautiful, so well maintained, and very well kept and decorated. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Our stay was exactly what we needed. We spent our days relaxing outside, rocking on the porch, enjoying fires by the lake at night. It was a nice place to spend a family vacation and I hope to return for many years to come.
