Nice place and would be a nice place for large family gatherings as there are good areas to be together in a variety of places and not always underfoot. The weather was constant rain so we weren't able to enjoy the outdoors or lake. We had rented the boat but couldn't get the boat started and called the owner but still couldn't get the motor started. Owner did not charge us for the use but if the weather had been nicer it would have been very disappointing not to be able to start the boat. One problem was that we had arranged to meet owner at 3pm the first day per his insistence to pay for the stay and he did not show and had no intention of showing up then but did not notify us of this. The windows need a good cleaning and the large amount of leaves around the doors need to be cleaned up.Pretty steep hill should be noted on the info sheet as one goes down to lake. Some of the carpets really need to be replaced.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time at Rusty's Lake house!! Super Golf nearby, Bass & Crappie jumping on our Swim Baits, Evening Camp fires Lake side & ESPN. What more do you need for a Guys Get Away? Birds and Wildlife were all over the place. Even got some video of a very large Beaver or Otter. Thanks Rusty!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners.

We stayed at this house for a 4 day weekend last weekend. The house is what you'd like out of a vacation rental/lake house. Plenty of space, nice decks, hot tub, pool table, fully stocked kitchen and a reasonable landlord. We packed 12 adult males into the place and, while we ran out of beds, there were a handful of couches that did just fine. The house is decorated nicely, but so nicely that you're nervous you will break something you can't afford. Rusty, the landlord, is a nice, laid-back kind of guy. He let us have the space and was very reasonable about the pricing. Overall, it was a great trip and the house was a big part of that. Thanks for having us.Did you find this review helpful? Though some small, there are plenty of bedrooms to accommodate multiple people. Nice view on the water. Hot tub was nice. The owner is genuine and was a pleasure to do business with. Great guy. All in all, it was a great stay and place is return to. Thanks, Rusty.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

WOW!!!!!! What can we say. The house was perfect. We had 12 guys there and it was GREAT. The house is very big. Huge yard with fire pit. Deck is beyond big. We had a great time. The house needs a little TLC but looks as if they are working as they go on this house. Only one complaint. The DARN microwave, you have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Other than the microwave everything else was PERFECT. Everything there a group needs to be content. Its about 25 min from downtown.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were quite disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of the property. The windows throughout the house were very dirty. It was difficult to even see out of the kitchen window. The landscaping is overgrown and needs to be weeded. The carpets and floors are filthy. We wiped water off the kitchen floor and the towel was black. The Florida room appeared to be so inviting, but it was dirty with old furniture and dirty windows. The deck was not safe for small children, but there was no indication of this in the rental listing online. There is a table on the deck that is in such bad shape that we did not use it. The gas grill was filthy. There were dead bugs in many areas, especially in the basement. There were 2 broken chairs in the dining room. Dried food was found on some of the dishes so it was necessary to clean all the dishes and silverware before using. Some of the tiles in the basement were wet and a musty odor is present. We also did some general cleaning ourselves. We called the owner and requested that it be cleaned. He did send someone and it was cleaned, but the carpets, windows, etc need extensive work to be thoroughly cleaned. We also requested a discount which he did give us a modest reduction. We did not feel the pictures on the internet were indicative of the condition of the actual property. The property could be a wonderful place to stay, but it is need of general upkeep, upgrades, and thorough cleaning.Owner response: Upon entering the home I had a call that cleaning was not up to snuff , i had been there four hours before and knew this not to be the case, but out of respect cleaning crews were called back in for a second (complet house cleaning) they were not seeing anything out of the norm as carpets had been done 7 days before by a carpet cleaning company, the window that is dirty is 20 ft off ground and is for raising flowers in, it will be addressed and cleaned, they had a 18 month old that there is not a deck that is safe in North America for, this one has 3000 pd cable strength cables in it. Small children will try to crawl through or around this so there is a list in the house expressing no one is to let small children on deck without being with them. There is a professional lawn service in every week, Although we went through alot to try and make this customer happy the re-cleaning while they were out sight seeing nor anything that was done seem to make them happy, even discounting the 1 st day rental in half did not make them happy. This is a normal house with clean linens, floors cleaned, towels cleaned, hot tub cleaned, lawns cut, etc. from the time these people walked it hey requested a full days reduction and money was what was on there mind.

Here's the good. Rusty is very nice and easy-going. His house is huge and has a lot of character. Thank God the air conditioners worked well, because we had a HOT week. Most everything was in working order, but there were a lot of little things that needed some attention: A back patio door lock strike didn't hit the hole right and wouldn't lock, so we had to fix it, toilet roll holders weren't secure, the bottom of the dishwasher was barely hanging on...etc. The major things included: We wanted to rent the pontoon boat (the little boat was nowhere to be seen), but the man we were supossed to contact, next door never returned our calls. We called Rusty, who rented to us. After 2 days with the boat, we decided to rent it for the duration of our trip, but Rusty, or someone took it away for the rest of the time! It was supposed to be available to rent while we stayed there. The spa was unuseable because someone dumped a huge amount of chlorine in it. My father-in-law burnt his hand in it. We were looking for to the spa too. Also, neither one of the jetted tubs worked.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

You will not be disappointed with this house or the owners. My co-workers and I rent this house usually 2-3 times a year. In fact I just sent payment for 2 days in June. Rusty is always so nice and ready to accomodate any needs we may have. The house is big enough that you can have several small groups doing seperate activities or everyone together at one time.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

It literally was the best four days in my life. 15 of my closest friends staying in one house for a bachelor party. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The living room and kitchen are in great condition. With a nice LCD flat screen .The deck is really the key to the whole property. Every morning we all gathered on the deck in the beautiful weather with a view of the lake right in front of us. The neighborhood is quiet upscale and clean. Everything about this trip was perfect. Rusty was polite. We will be staying there again no doubt. The jacuzzi and pool table put it over the top. Cheers Mike from NYOwner response: Glad to have you stay with us! rusty
