Lenno is an important centre, on the western shore of Lake Como, and is situated between the headland of Lavedo and Porlezza. This is the starting point of a coastal area, known as Tremezzina, which ends at the Maiolica.
The tombs and archaelogical finds, that have been brought to light, give testimony to the Roman origins of the village.
The Comachi historian, from the 17th century, claimed that this was the site of "Comoedia", which was one of the two villas of Plinio il Giovane (1st century A.C.).
Not far from the village, there is Azzano; it was here, in an area called Giulino, that Benito Mussolini and his mistress Claretta Petacci were shot, in 1.945.
Starting from Lenno there is a panoramic, thought strenous, path that goes up Monte di Tremezzo (1,700 mts.).
There is a beautiful shore of the lake, rounding the headland, which Villa Balbianello stands on, as far as Isola Comacina.
In the middle of the country, 50 m from the beach, among the Villa Balbianello and the "Abbey of the cold water" there is this elegant apartment.

Everything here is new and has been chosen with great care, there are teak floors in the badroom and marble floors in the living area and Italian tiles in the bathroom. The furnishings, appliances, all linens and dinnerware are also brand new.
The simple but tasteful furniture accommodates all tastes and offers our guests everything they need for a comfortable holiday, short break and business trip to Como, Milan or Switzerland.
The apartment is also ideal for those who do not want to be troubled with driving in Italy. The local bus stops directly near the apartment. There is also a public bus service from Milan Malpensa airport and Como is also well served by the international train service. a the lake there is a lot of boat from Como, Menaggio or Ravenna.
We can also offer an excellent English speaking taxi driver service, which is available on request. Switzerland is also a short drive away, 45 minutes by car, where you can find the City of Lugano, Campione D'Italia, with it's famous "Casino" and lovely lake front walk. The famous 'Jet Set' resort of St. Moritz is a two hour drive away.
Finally the apartment is along the Greenway of the lake Como: a pedestrian road from Colonno village, to Villa Balbianello, to Cadenabbia and Griante. 13 km going through old villages, crossing the site of the ancients, see church, monuments and villas, touching lake view, but also restaurant, bar, shop, etc.

This house is large and sunny: one bedroom Balbianello sees the hill, the other room sees the abbey 's Acquafredda. is in the heart of Lenno a few steps from the lake, along a side street with little traffic. Here peace and quiet reigns.
On the front is a large balcony accessible from the living room from the kitchen to see them all over the Gulf of Venus with Tremezzo and his church lit up at night.
The garden in front of the house was completely renovated this winter: in the Spring cherry blossoms and careful lighting enhances the green of the lawn.
Everything is treated with elegance and refinement in the true Italian style!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
In our house you will feel perfectly at ease: it is comfortable, elegant, spacious, beautifully presented in detail.
Cleanliness and attention to small things: Italian linens, fresh plants, the sofa and carpets. With short walk to the magnificent lake and from there a boat or hydrofoil, you can reach Menaggio, Bellagio and many other beautiful villages. Or you can walk up to the sacred mountain or continue along the coast and along a very fascinating history.
Lenno is the ideal starting point for excursions but also the sweet shelter where coming home. Cooking in the large kitchen is easy and fun: you can try to make some Italian specialties! There are many shops around food: you can pick any number to buy and cook our specialty! a few paces Olificio Vanini, who for years produced our oil!

Our Host Gloria was terrific! She went out of her way to pick-up her lost American guests and made sure we settled in nicely. The apartment was very clean, quite and located a short walk to shopping and dinning. We would stay again.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I and 2 friends enjoyed 5 nights at this apartment. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean and had a nice appearance. I especially enjoyed soaking in the comfortable bathtub after a day of doing a lot of walking. I felt we got a lot for our money. There was not a great view of the lake from the balcony but we could not afford to stay right on the lake. Lenno is a very charming village with a great walkway along the lake which was only a short walk away. There were good restaurants nearby and a nice grocery store nearby. All in all this place had a lot to offer and it was affordable and clean with comfortable beds and a very nice living room. Also, we did not have any trouble parking in front of the apartment. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed very much our stay in Lenno, which is a charming village very well located in the Como Lake area. We found the apartment beautifully decorated and very comfortable for our family of five. However, we did not find the breathtaking lake & beach view which was advertised and we had to park our car in the street as the garage was not available. Also, the cable-satellite option for the TV did not work during our stay. Nevertheless, we were very happy about our stay.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
