Nothing compares to being by the ocean. The smell of the salt air. The warmth of the sun on your shoulders.The sand between your toes.The warm breezes. The soothing sounds of the waves hitting the shore. Stunning sunsets... I could go on and on and on! Well you get it all at the cottage on Bay ave!! It's everything it is described to be and more! Waking up in any of the airy, clutter free bedrooms,.. and looking out your window to see the morning sun , dancing like diamonds on the waves. Looking down the beautiful sandy beach that goes on for miles! Then you walk downstairs to get your breakfast in the roomy , functional kitchen,.. breezes blowing . Then head through the sunny, comfy, open , airy living room, to walk out on the huge deck and seawall ,to sit and watch the peaceful clouds roll by with seagulls coasting on the wind ,..occasionally diving for their morning snack! You are ON the water with the stairs to the beach right there,...so it's easy to dash up to the house from the beach ,if you decide you want to grab something . The gorgeous greens and blues of the seemingly endless ocean,..are breathtaking! After a day of fun, (swimming , walking, sunbathing,.. reading,.relaxing .etc.) you can move to the other side of the house, jump in the great outdoor shower,.. grab a lounge and sit and enjoy the manicured lawn and perimeter garden. Dinner time , you can walk to the fabulous old lobster pound,and grab a few lobsters,.. or barbeque on the big grill on the back deck . It is enjoying summer at it's best! It is a very beautiful beach house with excellent amenities and stunning views, certainly the perfect place to wake up. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. There are no photographs of the bedrooms on the website, but they are gorgeous big airy rooms, all had a sea view. We had two small children and it was a great safe house for them and they loved the beach. The owners were prompt with their email exchange and very helpful in sorting out the payments and deposits as we were travelling from the UK. When choosing a holiday home we wanted to have a nice looking house right by the ocean with good selection of both restaurants and shopping opportunities near by. This house proved to have all that and more! The beach is stunning, and it was right there! House is very nicely decorated, light and clean - we thought it looked even nicer than in the pictures! There were MANY great restaurants very close to the house, and the owners had collected a nice little guide that helped us to find them all. Our favorite was Haddad, still miss their amazing lobsters! We enjoyed an extremely comfortable week at this lovely beach-side home. I don't really know where to start.....we knew we were out of season and didn't expect anything other than cold, wet, and windy weather (we actually ended up with sunny, bright, and cool - which was a lovely bonus). Therefore it was important for us to have somewhere very comfortable, with heating, and dramatic views regardless of the weather. This house ticked all the boxes. Being so close to the see was amazing - at times we'd look out of the window and think that we were on a boat ;-) The house was spotlessly clean and as described in the listing. The location of the house allows easy access to Cape Cod, Boston, and anywhere really. We had great days out nearby (Plymouth's Mayflower II and Plantation Village) as well as enjoying great restaurants and local attractions. The nearby towns of Brants Rock and Duxbury are great for exploring and we really did only scratch the surface before our time was up. The owners were extremely professional (in the nicest possible way) and the arrangements were really clear and easy to follow. In summary then - lovely house, lovely location, lovely owners - ticks every single box! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family.Did you find this review helpful?
