The Property
Sweetwater Farm Retreat Guest Cottage is a charming timber-frame style guest cottage on Sweetwater Farm, a private and secluded 40 acre sunny southwest-facing farm on Salt Spring Island. Sit back and take in the rural beauty of the Cranberry Valley from the large deck, with nothing but the sounds of the crickets buzzing, the birds chirping, and leaves rustling in the trees.
Graze through our organic kitchen garden, or enjoy a good book upon one of our comfortable Adirondack chairs. A perfect getaway for couples and families. Located near great walking trails; Mt. Erskine out your back door and Mt. Maxwell around the corner.
The Cottage
The spacious 1000 square foot self-catered guest cottage spans three floors and features wood flooring throughout, a vaulted rustic timberframe ceiling, and a unique stucco wood-burning fireplace handmade by a local artisan.
The Kitchen
Sweetwater Farm Retreat Guest Cottage features a fully-equipped kitchen with a complete range of appliances, and is stocked with all of your basic cooking needs such as pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. There is also a BBQ on the deck for those warm and peaceful summer evenings.
Accommodations
Sweetwater Farm Retreat Guest Cottage has two rooms and comfortably sleeps six. One closed bedroom has a Queen Bed, the loft has a King Bed, and the living room will sleep two on a full convertible bed. Luxurious duvets and 100% Egyptian Cotton linens are provided for your needs and comfort.
Amenities
For your convenience, the cottage includes wireless internet access, welcome basket, CD and DVD player, a washer and dryer. We are also pet-friendly -subject to approval - with a fully-fenced yard. In our games room; ping pong/table tennis, shuffleboard, and darts.

Low Season: Oct 01-Mar 31 ................. $180/night .. $1150/week
High Season: Apr 01-Sep 30, Dec 23-Jan 02 .. $200/night .. $1300/week
Based on double occupancy. Taxes included & prices in Canadian Dollars.
$20 per night for each additional guest.
5 night min stay during High Season (with possibility of exceptions).
2 night min stay during Low Season.
One week bookings are preferred in Jul and Aug.

Year Purchased: 2002
For well over 25 years the Walls family has been a fixture of the Salt Spring Island community. The family first took root on the island when David's parents, Harry and Joan, purchased their dream property: 40 acres of painting-perfect farmland nestled in the mountains – a lush, picturesque place called the Cranberry Valley. Their weekend hobby of visiting Salt Spring from Vancouver to work on the farmhouse became their ideal lifestyle when they moved in and began keeping livestock and harvesting a yearly crop of hay, a tradition that continues today. Fiona and David first made the move in 1987, leaving Tsawassen with their two young children, Wesley and Christina. Their third child, Jennifer, was born on Salt Spring in 1990 - a true Salt Springer! (Ask the locals when a Salt Springer is a real Salt Springer! David's career as a helicopter pilot eventually took them north where they spent time living in various coastal communities, but Saltspring was always home. They returned in 1998 when David's career had him commuting overseas, and in 2005 they purchased the family property, Sweetwater Farm, to carry on its traditions into the next generation. Fiona and David are excited and pleased to be living blended lives as a successful Realtor team and farmers on Salt Spring Island and welcome their clients to come visit their idyllic farm.
