Esther's condo was amazing! It is literally steps to the beach so we could fall asleep with the balcony door open listening to the sounds of the waves crashing. It's perfectly located on the East side of the island which makes it a great vantage point to explore the north and south sides of the island from. Esther was great to deal with and made our week long stay a breeze. We would definitely come back next year!

"Love Love love this place!" We spent 10 days in the hotel. We had a lovely visit. The room is clean, well stocked with towels and linens and has a phenomenal view. "Relaxing, beautiful place to stay and near island site seeing." We enjoyed staying at the resort. It was close to the quaint town of Kapaa. Every morning we ran along the beach and spent the days touring the beautiful, scenic island of Kauai. The third floor room gave us a sense of security to leave the doors open at night and hear the sounds of the ocean. I would recommend this place to all of our friends.

We (my boyfriend and I) stayed in Esther's unit for 1 week in November 2011, and dont have anything bad to say! It was a perfect room with a gorgeous beach view on a small resort-type property. The property is extremely well-kept, has great amenities like laundry facilities, pool, hot-tub, tiki bar and a BBQ patio which we took full advantage of. This location is quite central to the island and was a perfect home base for exploring as much of the island as we could in the short week we were there! I would recommend this unit to anyone!

This was my 1st trip to Hawaii so I didn't know what to expect. The room was great. It was clean, no false advertising as far as the room,location or appliances. Ended up spending 2 of the 7 nights on the balcony just watching the ocean as the daylight dwindled and since we were on the east side of the island, we saw the sunrise over the horizon every morning from our balcony. In talking with other people, it seems that they were paying more for their accommodations which made me feel good too :) If I go back to Kauai, I'm definitely renting the same condo!

"Total relaxation" The studio was perfect for a week-long stay - complex amenities (pool, tiki bar, WiFi in lobby, laundry, with the only negative the lack of parking spaces on some evenings); gorgeous sunrise views from the 3rd floor lanai; great beach for walking (we were lucky enough to see a monk seal resting on the sand); centrally located to all Kauai sites and sights; and lastly, the unit was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had just about everything we needed. Esther responded to all emails promptly (even when she herself was on holiday!) and even called to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We felt so much at home here, mahalo, Esther.

"35th wedding aniversary" Esther's condo is very nice, with a great view it was great to have the beach chairs, we took them to lydgate park several times. the condo's loaction is perfect for exploring Kauai. Esther was easy to work with. We got great pictures of a monk seal resting on the beach next to our condo.

"Exactly as described!" Fantastic stay in Esther's condo! If you're looking for luxury, then bring some extra money and head to the Princeville Resort. If you're looking for the basic amenities with a great price, a great view and a great central location on the island, then you've found the right place! As I mentioned, while the condo is stocked with basic amenities, the only other things I was left wanting was a bigger microwave (For my Costco-sized au gratin potatoes that wouldn't fit. Darn.) and a clock with an iPod dock to play some of my music while sitting on the lanai and enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean and the pool...and of course, the Tiki Bar at the pool- your best bet for a cocktail while relaxing in the sun near the sand. While several shops and restaurants at the Coconut Marketplace have closed in recent years, there are still a few good options there, and Trees Lounge located in the same parking lot as the Islander has a great happy hour and live entertainment almost every night, I believe. Just a short drive away is Scotty's Bbq- great food and an even better view. Just be sure to get back to your condo before it gets too late- parking can be difficult at the Islander later in the evening, so you might have a bit of a walk ahead of you. That said, I absolutely would not hesitate to stay at Esther's condo the next time I'm on Kauai!

"Wonderful! Exactly as described!! :)" My boyfriend and I stayed in Esther's condo at the beginning of august, and our stay was absolutely wonderful! The property is just as described. It was very clean and the view was awesome! The condo is close to everything...food, shops, and the beach! I would highly, highly recommend renting from her! We had never been to Hawaii before, so we decided that is where we wanted to go on our honeymoon. My mother in law had been to Kauai several times and recomended that we go there. She made the reservations at this location. Once we showed up, everything was beautiful. The property itself has a certain charm to it. The room was beautiful. The view was spectacular. You can see the pool and the ocean from the room. It was truly like being in paradise. I tore my ACL dancing at our wedding which made getting aropund a little difficult. Even though the condo is on the third floor (and there is no elevator) , I was able to climb up the stairs pretty easily. It was also nice having the coconut marketplace in the same parking lot. We didn't rent a car so it was nice to have stores and resturants in walking distance. Our overall experience is that we absolutely loved it. We definitly plan on booking the room again in the future. I would highly recommend this room.

"Great place, great spot" We stayed here in late July and found the place fantastic. The condo is very central, relative to the island, and hasa great view of the beach -- which has wonderful sunrises. The room had everything we needed, and even beach chairs -- which turned out to be invaluable. Ester manages the place wonderfully, and is very accessable for any queries you have.

"A Great Getaway" This condo had a beautiful ocean view and was centrally located on Kauai. It was within walking distance to places to eat and was clean and comfortable. The owner was wonderful to work with and very organized and communicative. The arrangements to stay here were very easy due to the owner's attention to detail. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone traveling to Kauai!

"Our Dream Vacation" We stayed at Esther's condo for two weeks and had a wonderful vacation The weather was perfect and the Islander's location is the best on the island in our opinions. It was so easy to travel to local beaches and the many outdoor adventures we'd planned from the Islander...it was very central. The Coconut Market Place was literally a 2 minute walk so it was especially handy for dining and picking up incidentals (and everyone was so nice!). The pool and hot tub area were lovely and the view from the lanai of both it and the palm trees on the ocean's edge was just beautiful. We enjoyed many meals out on the lanai just taking in that beautiful view. The condo was very comfortable and clean and Esther's made sure that the kitchen area has all the necessities you'd need to feel at home for your stay. I can't say enough good things about this trip. Kauai is a beautiful island, The Islander is a great location and so reasonably priced and Esther is a sweetheart! I'm definitely letting my friends that may travel to Kauai know that they should look into staying at the Islander. Thanks so much Esther!

"Excellent Experience with Condo 341 and Esther" Check-in was a breeze and the condo was just like advertised - beautiful view overlooking swimming pool and the ocean. The first night from the lanai was with a beautiful full moon glistening over the ocean with a gentle breeze blowing. Oh what a site!! "Nice place...Good value" We came across Esther's condo on Tripadvisor while planning our first trip to Hawaii. The price for a week's stay in this ocean view condo was such a good deal. Esther's condo is centrally located and makes getting to the north shore or south shore a relatively short drive. Your also close to nearby shopping and dining. The condo was exactly as the pictures depicted. one of our favorite things was to sit on the lanai and listen to the ocean. The beach in front is not a desirable swim beach but better beaches are only a short drive away. All in all it would be hard to find a better value on the island. We had a fantastic time. Mahalo Esther for providing a clean and affordable place to stay. It allowed us to be able to come and experience the beauty and magic of the Garden Isle of Kauai. "Amazing Value - Amazing View!" My husband and I took our first "real" vacation in 25 years, and stayed in Esther's unit at The Islander in Kauai. It was perfect for the two of us. The Islander exceeded our expectations. The grounds are beautiful. The unit has everything you need for a great stay. There's a lovely view of the ocean from the lanai. Barb and I had a great time in Kauai staying at Esther's place. It was clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and surrounded by Restaurants and local shops. The complex was very clean and safe with a wonderful pool and a fantastic HOT spa by the pool for the "Older Bones." The view from the Lani' was spectacular and the Island is diverse in many things to see and do. Esther was very comfortable to work with and the rate was very reasonable. "Kelly's Kauai Condo- Best Deal on the Island" My husband and I traveled to Kauai to attend a friend's wedding, and stayed in Esher Kelly's condo at Islander on the Beach. We had rented previously through Vrbo and had a good experience, but must say that Esther's attention to detail and assistance with many of our planning questions was sensational. The condo was everything we expected and more. Great loacation for getting anywhere on the island, and great view and ocean breeze from the location of the condo itself. Condo was well maintained, clean, and staff at the facility was very helpful. Esther communicated with us often before and during our trip to assure everything was okay. The accomodations were excellent for the price, and really a bargain. I would hightly recommend Esther to anyone interested in this type of accomodation, and have already referred some friends to her for future vacations. We weill definitely stay with her again on our next trip to Kauai.

"The condo was everything it was described as and more!" We had a great stay at The Islander on the Beach #341. It was very comfortable and the view was wonderful!!! We arrived to a clean and well equiped accommodation and were very happy with the location. The grounds are lovely and we felt the rates were outstanding for this rental. "Perfect Condo in Perfect Location" This condo is located in the perfect spot..it is near the airport and Kapaa but also a short drive to either the north shore (Princeville) or the south shore (Poipu). The condo is extremely clean and has a wonderful view of the pool and ocean. Even with the door closed, you can still hear the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach..just wonderful. We brought our two teenagers with us and they enjoyed the condo very much, loved the location as they could walk right to the Coconut Marketplace , the beach or even nearby surf shop. There are a few restaurants nearby and a nice little lounge "Trees Lounge" that offers happy hour and live music. We ate breakfast at Eggberts and the macadamia pancakes with coconut syrup were very yummy. There really isn't anything negative to say about the condo...it was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. We stayed 2 nights at another location nearby (Aston aloha Resort) prior to our stay in the condo and would not recommend that hotel as it was older and had a wet/mildew smell. This condo is in near perfect condition and you can really tell Esther goes above and beyond in keeping it clean and fresh. Jenn - AZ

"Great place to stay that was affordable" The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was difinitely the right decision to stay there versus a hotel room for 2 or 3 times more money and less of a view. Although no services were provided (no cleaning services during the stay, however, you do have this option for an extra fee), it was a very comfortable stay if you clean up after yourself which you should do regardless. At first, I was hesistant dealing with a single owner versus a company/hotel, but Esther, the owner, was very helpful with her instructions and her check-in and check-out process, which was fair and hassle-free. "Very Enjoyable" This unit was in a very well maintained complex, with relaxing island atmosphere. The view from the balcony was perfect. Although the unit is small, it had everything to make 2 people comfortable. There was plenty of storage and a great new air conditioner that worked soundlessly and efficiently. "An amazing 3 weeks" My husband and I rented for 3 weeks from Esther. We were so pleased with the accomodations!! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The view from the lanai was worth the trip in itself! We would sit out there and have lunch and people watch. There was always something interesting going on. It's a perfect location to go north and swim in Hanalei Bay or south to Poipu. There is a safeway close by to pick up groceries. Every afternoon we would go down to the beach and lay out and swim. Most days we would see sea turtles right by the shore eating at the coral reef. This is definately a place we will come again and we will certainly rent from Esther. She met and exceeded all of our expectations! Mahalo

"Beautiful views and very clean resort." The Islander on the Beach is a wonderful getaway for anyone. This particular room had a wonderful view and you could watch the sunrise every morning. Gorgeous beach to walk and a wonderful ocean to swim. The room was very clean and comfortable and very accommodating. Right in town. Very close to the airport, local restaurants and shopping. I can't recommend to stay here more. I had a wonderful trip.

"What a great condo!" This lovely 1-room studio condo had a lanai facing the ocean. It was very comfortable, clean, and functional. I loved getting up early and drinking a cup of coffee while sitting outside on the lanai, reading and watching the ocean. Since it's located in Kapa'a, we were well situated to go north or southwest for our day's exploring. The beach was lovely for a quick dip or just for relaxing on a lounge chair. The grounds were very well-maintained and so attractive! If you're looking for a great accommodation for your Kauai vacation, this is it!

My husband and I spent two weeks on Kauai. Roughly a third of the time was on spent on the west side in Kekaha, a third on the north shore in Wainiha and the last third on the east side in Kapaa at Esther's place. Our next visit we will be staying at Esther's condo for the entire trip! Everything that has been written about the condo is true: it is clean, it is centrally located, it has everything you need, the beach does not have a lot of people on it and it is a great walking beach, the pool is very clean and comfortable, the unit has everything one needs, and the sound of the surf at night is the best, not to mention the breeze that flows in (without the air conditioner on...which we never even used). The other aspect that meant a lot to us was the friendliness of the staff at the Islander. Even though this condo is privately owned, we spent some nice moments talking with the housekeepers and other staff people.....it was like being in a community of very kind people who enjoy being there. Thank you Esther for providing your unit to others for an incredible price that cannot be beat anywhere on the island ...it was our best stay by far!

The unit has a great view of the ocean. It was very clean and organized. The pool and the easy beach access was our favorite part of the property. We saw Monk seals sleeping on the beach. The condo is in a central location on the island making for a relatively short drive to the north or west sides.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo while celebrating our 10th anniversary. Esther was very accomodating, friendly and organized. We would definitely rent from her again. We found the location of the condo to be an excellent starting point for exploring the entire island. Centrally located in Kapa'a, we were close to grocery stores, shops & restaurants, and could get to either the north shore or south side quite quickly. We rented a jeep and explored about every corner of the island! The grounds at the condo were very well maintained and the condo's interior was clean, updated and comfortable. The pictures that you see on the website are exactly what you get. This isn't an all-inclusive type resort, but that wasn't what we were looking for! We weren't planning on spending a lot of time at the condo since we wanted to explore this fabulous island. This studio condo was exactly what we wanted with its comfortable bed, and top floor balcony with an ocean view. We took full advantage of the "Snorkel Depot" located in the Islander shops next door ... to rent snorkel gear, boogie boards, and bicycles at very reasonable prices. This privately owned condo is a great value for the money we paid! I looked it up online, and rooms at the same Islander complex go for twice as much if you book directly through them. Great place to base your tour of Kauai with great price. Located at beach with excellent view of beach and pool area. Ice machine and laundry nearby. Gas grills and Tiki bar in pool area. Coconut Marketplace behind Islander resort with good places to eat and shop. Excellent Smith Luau one mile away with free shuttle pickup from Islander. Airport is only 7-8 miles away. Central location to tour either North or South Kauai.

The was a great place to stay while in Kauai. The location cannot be beat; it is right in the middle of everything and equal distance to the south and north shores. My boyfriend and I rented a car and had a great time driving around the island. We only ran into traffic a few times during the week we were there. You really do need a car unless you intend on not leaving the area around the condo. There are a few great restaurants right in the parking lot, and the Coconut market place (right next door) has a general store. You can also walk to a grocery store and a starbucks. Esther's condo was great. Exactly what you think you are going to get when you view it online. Plenty of towels, very clean, etc. It was great to have to refrigerator and there is also silverware, plates, glasses, etc in the condo. The view is amazing! The pool is nice and its great to have the pool bar open (again, especially if you don't have a car). The beach in front of the condo was a little rough, but there are so many great beaches on Kauai, we did not really mind. All in all, it was one of the best vacations that we have been on and you cannot go wrong with renting this unit at Islander on the Beach. The price is very good compared to what others rented at this same complex.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed 10 days....accommodation was within walking distance of local restaurants, grocery stores and next to the beach. View from the balcony was indeed stunning with the sound of the waves putting us to sleep at night! The bed was sooo comfortable. Everything was clean and well-maintaned....just as represented in the photos and listing description. Esther was kind and caring....even concerned when she found out that my husband was 74 because of the third story.....but the stairs were no problem at all....and we really would have chosen the third story even if we would have had a choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this location to our family and friends.

Recommended for:Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

this is the one! We spent 4 hours on the internet searching but it was worth finding Esther's condo. She is great to work with and this place is centrally located (in Kapaa)to all parts of the Island. The condo itself is perfect for 2-3 people with a queen bed and pull out couch. Small refrig and microwave. Utensils and plates are provided. Great experience! We'd go through Esther again. Thank you! Dodie

We just got back from Kauai and being at Ester's condo made our trip complete. Ester is very easy to work with and is very thorough. She is quick to respond to questions. This unit was perfect for a 2 person getaway on Kauai. It was clean, the view was fantastic and the owner was very attentive to any needs we had during our stay. The location was perfect too, as it was an easy drive to either end of the island. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

This is a perfect getaway and and incredible price for a couple. The beautiful ocean views from the balcony were our highlights for our morning cup of coffee or cocktail in the evening. We will definitely go back and highly recommend to our friends.

We had a wonderful one week stay at Islander on the Beach room 341. It was so nice to wake up, fix a cup of coffee in the little kitchen, and sit out on our lani, watching the sun come up! The location of the room is excellent. This room overlooks the pool and on out to the ocean. Esther, the owner is very conscientious and easy to work with. The atmosphere here is relaxing, and we can't wait to return!! Mahalo!
