Why the Owner Chose Great Barrington
We bought this house twenty years ago. We love the Berkshires! The rolling hills are beautiful whether covered with snow or flaming with fall colors or the soft greens of summer. When our son was little we thought it would be wonderful for him to have a taste of greenery to balance out the concrete of NYC streets. We had long loved the area, but we fell in love with this warm and comfortable house. We have made wonderful friends who are happy to help out whenever our renters need them!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love most of all to sit on the patio and read, have our meals, and visit with each other and our friends. We also love the music, theater, dance and wonderful restaurants in the area. There are terrific yoga classes 10 minutes from the house (Diane is an avid 'yogi.' We also spend as much time biking as possible -- if you're interested, we'll happily tell you about the trails we take (flat, if possible!).
Owner's Map of Great Barrington
We have been married for nearly thirty years. Joel works with inner city high school kids. Diane is a psychotherapist. We have one son who is about to graduate college and start teaching biology. When we are not in the Berkshires, we live in New York City.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home in Great Barrington. It was convenient to hiking on the Appalachian Trail and also nearby to various historical places of interest. The property was well-taken care of and the owners were most helpful. Highly recommend!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

[These comments were written by a father and his 12 year old daughter.] We love staying at this comfortable home for a week or two every summer. The house has lots of comfortable places where you can sit and read. You can cut flowers from the yard and put them in vases in your rooms. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Great t.v. and wireless internet. Really nice dining room, and those working in the kitchen can visit with those sitting at the dining table. The house has a nice grill. Nice big back yard to play in. The owners are just a phone call away if there are ever any questions or problems. We love the location, just a few minutes to Great Barrington on a quiet road. 5 minute walk to the Appalachian Trail for those who like to hike
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
