We have so enjoyed our week in the beautiful house

Guest: Richard and party - UK
Date of Stay: 08/27/11 Review Submitted: 09/27/11

We have so enjoyed our week in the beautiful house! It has everything you could want with a fantastic range of books, DVD’s, kitchenware and appliances. The house has been lovingly furnished and decorated with elegant and luxurious accessories, bedding and furniture – well done on a superb job! Thanks to Danny & Tina for their help and advice – it was appreciated. We have enjoyed this lovely house in this idyllic part of Normandy. Nothing has been left to chance and with Danny & Tina being most welcoming and helpful, we have been well looked after. Finally, anyone who stays and enjoys a good curry must ask Danny. It was an excellent dish

We’ve had a really relaxing week walking the lanes and catching up on much needed sleep & DVD watching! Our teenage children have had much fun in the pool and barn. The house has been very comfortable and well equipped and we’ve been made to feel very welcome. Thank you

We so enjoyed our week staying in your beautiful house. It is so tastefully furnished and so easy to chill out, which is exactly what we wanted from our holiday. The countryside is lovely and the location is ideal. We would not hesitate to recommend LGB to our friends.

Lovely house, perfect for a large family holiday. Wish the weather had been better but hasn’t mattered as lots to do! For cycling – lots of hills.

What a beautiful house to stay

What a beautiful house to stay. The kids enjoyed watching a movie every night! We enjoyed the beams and the board games. The kitchen was big and had enough room to cook yummy meals. WE DON’T WANT TO LEAVE!

We have arrived back in the states and have overcome jet-lag; we want to thank you for a truly wonderful week at your farmhouse; having travelled to Europe for 10 years and renting villas, homes in Tuscancy, Umbria, Provence, Costwolds, Amalfi Coast, and Croatia we can say that our week at Le Grand Buisson stands out as our favorite lodging choice by a wide margin; beautifully furnished and decorated home, comfortable rooms, great beds, fully functional kitchen- I could go on and on; we used the farmhouse as a base to visit Caen, D-Day beaches, Bayeaux, Swiss Normandie, Pays de Auge, Mont St.-Michel, and many smaller villages in the countryside; upon returning to Le Grand Buisson in the evenings with bags of fresh produce and fruits from local markets, we felt we were at home; thank you again for your attention to detail and your labor of love in renovating the farmhouse into a first class "home" surely translates to those fortunate enough to stay there.

We're just back from France and I wanted to email you right away and to say a huge thank you for a most wonderful stay at Le Grand Buisson. Your house is truly beautiful and ultimately comfortable. The decor is fabulous. We enjoyed the understated elegance of every room. The bathrooms were beautiful, the bedroom gorgeous and so comfortable, and the kitchen was a delight in which to cook. We also enjoyed the lovely leather sofa in the family room and the woodburner and the TV. We especially enjoyed catching up on our favourite British shows on BBC via satellite. Debbie, please feel free to use our comments on your website. Your home is beautiful and so well-maintained that others should know about it. We just don't want it to get too popular, though, in case we want to book again!! What a wonderful stay we had. We really loved Normandy and know that we will return to that area. We loved the people, the countryside, the little villages we discovered around bends in the road, Bayeaux, Caen, and the DDay beaches. It was all specatcular!

Mortain Farmhouse in April 2010

We really enjoye our stay here and would recommend it to anyone interested in the French country side. I did not mark "Pets" because I do not know the policy. This place was fantastic and our only "complaint" is that we arrived on Sunday, so all grocery markets were closed. I would suggest for those arriving on Sunday to be notified of this so they can be prepared foodwise, or be offered to pay extra to have some food availabe upon arrival.

I wanted to take a minute and thank you for an absolutely wonderful week!! Your home is absolutely beautiful as well as comfortable and we couldn't have asked for a more lovely setting in which to spend our week in Normandy. While our short time remaining in Europe will probably prevent us from being able to return to LGB (as much as we'd like to!), we will no doubt recommend it to all of our friends. Thanks again and happy new year!

Just to say what a lovely relaxing time we have had at LGB. The house has been beautifully renovated and it was a pleasure to stay here. The kids loved the barn and the large collection of DVD’s. Also great touring location for discovering all the wonderful places in Normandy. We’ll be back and won’t hesitate to recommend LGB to our friends.
