East Hampton Mini-Estate with Pool, Hot Tub and Har-Tru Tennis
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
From the moment you first turn down the long, winding and shaded gravel drive and begin the approach to this 5 acre mini-estate, you know you've arrived at something special. Standing before the Koi pond at the all-glass entrance to this 3000 square foot sun-lit modern home, you glance to your right and see the elegant Har-Tru tennis court with viewing pavilion and already begin to imagine the hours of fun you and your guests will enjoy there. To your left, you catch a glimpse of the separate basketball court, sure to amuse any kids (or athletically inclined friends!).
As you walk inside, there is an air of casual elegance about this special home. Through multiple glass doors and skylights, the sun casts warm rays across the walnut-stained floors, the exquisite baby grand piano and a range of furnishings which reflect a design sensibility that is modern, eclectic and, most of all, comfortable.
Stepping onto the 2000 square foot back deck, you notice the surprisingly large scale of the property, allowing plenty of room for badminton, volleyball or croquet across the expanse of the back lawn, which sits adjacent to the 20 x 40 heated pool. (Hidden from your view at the left, you'll later discover the 8-person hot tub, particularly appreciated after a full day of tennis.)
Back inside this comfortably large home, you discover three richly appointed guest rooms on one wing of the house, two of which open directly onto the pool area. Upstairs, you'll find a large loft overlooking the living room (which easily sleeps two) as well as a bonus 5th bedroom (though, due its sharply inclined ceiling, is often particularly exciting to children, and to some adults!).
Back downstairs, and with welcomed privacy from the rest of the house, you discover the master suite, with its private deck and particularly large private bath. While you're not sure whether you want to soak in the large Jacuzzi tub first or have a nap beneath the ceiling fan on the large king-size bed, you breath a sigh of relief knowing that you did, indeed, choose the right home.
P.S. Since many tenants find this feature particularly useful (and not just on rainy days!), it should be noted that the basement features both a foosball table and caged-in Prince ping pong table. Very fun.

The property was excellent in every respect: great layout, beautiful views, very open and light, multiple activities available, and terrific location midway between Sag Harbor and East Hampton. The listing description and photos are quite accurate, the property is clean and well-maintained, and the owner fully cooperative. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were a group of seven, including one seven year old, and each would recommend the property unreservedly.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

You need look no further for the perfect house in East Hampton!! We recently had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home in May. The home is more amazing in person - large luxurious bedrooms, an open kitchen and the private property make this an exceptional home for a vacation in the Hamptons. Whether you want to relax by the pool, play a game of tennis or take a long bike ride you will find averything you need right here!!! The owner was a pleasure to work with and made the whole rental process perfectly streamlined. Every detail was taken care of in advance and the home spotless upon our arrival. We plan to make this our home every trip we make to the Hamptons!!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We went for a weekend in early September and found the property to be spectacular. The house is beautiful on the inside with updated baths, great linens and extremely tasteful decorations. It feels like a home and not just another rental. The outside is immaculately maintained as well. Landscaping is wonderful and the pool, hottub and tennis court extremely well maintained. There is also plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. We loved our weekend and our kids did too!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family and i just spent a lovely 10 days over Easter at this unbelievable home. It was a perfect getaway from NYC. My kids loved running around in the yard, playing tennis, basketball and ping pong. Yes, ping pong in the basement was their favorite thing to do there. The bedrooms were comfortable and the decor was superb. We had friends visit for the weekend and they all had a great time as well. The kitchen and living room area are great for entertaining. The deck has comfortable furniture for lounging in the sun and reading books. Too bad it was too cold for the pool. We would definitely like to come back when the pool is open. It is a great space for families and for entertaining guests. Very private too which we like. The owner was very helpful in answering any questions I had and he left detailed instructions for everything. I am so ready to go back! It was a memorable holiday for the whole family :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I rented this fantastic house for a 40th birthday party I threw with a group of friends in the Fall. While the pictures posted on VRBO are indeed great-looking, I promise you they don't even do this place justice! Our group had such a wonderful weekend here. The house is amazing and the property grounds are simply gorgeous. The house has absolutely everything you could ever want amenity-wise, and the owner goes above and beyond the call of duty to make your stay enjoyable. Before we even arrived, the owner sent me a list of things to know about the house and the area. We are an active group and took full advantage of the pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, basketball court, ping pong table, huge yard, BBQ, kitchen, etc. We just had such a wonderful time, I couldn't help but post a review (and I never post reviews!) I promise this place will not disappoint. I look forward to renting again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home over Christmas week. As a recent NY transplant (from San Francisco), It was my mother's first visit to the Hamptons and we could not have had a more wonderful stay. The home is far more breathtaking in person - every piece of furniture perfectly chosen and styled, large luxurious bedrooms, and an open kitchen make this the perfect home for a special weekend away. The property is expansive and set up for long days by the large pool, any activity imaginable on-site, and a wonderful sound system making dinners at the house so enjoyable. The owner was a pleasure to work with and made the whole rental process perfectly streamlined. Every detail was taken care of in advance and the home spotless upon our arrival. We hope to return again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We lived in this house for 2 weeks with our 4 children (aged 7 to 18), and everybody had a great time. House is very quiet and spacious, smartly laid-out, leaving enough room for everybody to be either on their own or living together. Kitchen, living room and dining room could fit many more than our party of 6, as well as the 4 bedrooms + additional (although low ceiling) bedroom upstairs. Decoration and furniture are both practical and well-maintained, completed by 3 newly-renovated beautiful bathrooms, everything in perfect conditions and spotless clean. Garden is brilliant: a large swimming pool, a well-maintained tennis court, wide manicured lawn, and a basket ball court: our children were spoiled for choice. Lastly all outside dining and garden furniture, bbq, hammock, as well as a jacuzzi added a relaxing touch to all sport activities. If it were not for its equally distant location from Sag Harbor and East Hampton villages, you could probably stay there for 2 weeks in a row without getting bored. I forgot to mention a football table and table tennis downstairs which we also enjoyed on the (rare) rainy days of our stay. Since we came over from France for this holiday, Coats proved extremely friendly with us, providing all advice and instructions to facilitate our arrival and stay. We actually had no surprise, as all pictures on the VRBO site perfectly reflect the house appearance and outside facilities. I would strongly recommend this house for a family or friend gathering, or anybody searching a relaxed and sporty holiday in a luxury environment, in the heart of the Hamptons.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: With the benefit of having traveled extensively in both the U.S. and Europe, I have had the pleasure of developing four luxury rental properties in four distinctly different yet equally special locations: New York City, East Hampton, Istanbul (Turkey), and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (also available through this site). With each property, I have focused on creating the type of experience for my guests that I have come to expect from staying at some of the best hotels and resorts around the world.
Why the Owner Chose East Hampton:
As other guests to this property have commented, this unique location in East Hampton offers the perfect combination of both convenience and privacy. While only a 5 minute drive to the beautiful beaches and charming towns of East Hampton and Sag Harbor (as well as the East Hampton Airport for those traveling privately), this setting is uniquely secluded on 5 very private and wooded acres. This setting offers all the recreation and/or quiet you could ever desire, while still keeping all that the Hamptons has to offer right at your fingertips.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Designed to offer as much comfort and luxury as it does recreation, this property boasts a wide range of benefits, including: 20 x 40 heated pool; separate and private 8 person hot tub; sunken Har-Tru (clay) Tennis Court with viewing pavilion; separate basketball court; Koi pond and seating area; nearby bike trails offering 20 miles of terrain; 2000 square feet of outdoor decking for entertaining.
