Yard games include bocce ball, ladder golf, horseshoes and a small swimming pool for toddlers. There are board games and 2 Blue Ray players for rainy days. enjoy the surrounding woods and yard, bask in the sun or read on the large deck overlooking the lake, relax on the dock bench, or sun and swim from the 8'X8' swimming platform in 25' of water. Golf at one of the many courses around, or spend an evening at the Casino just 30 minutes away. Shopping, restaurants and other recreation are close by in the Brainerd Lakes Area. A Weber grill will cook whatever you wish, but remember your charcoal and fluid! An evening campfire at the lakeside fire pit is a must. Map & Owner's Profile
Year Purchased: 1996
Why the Owner Chose Aitkin
My father purchased the land in 1956. He was enamored by the property's beauty, the tremendous fishing, and the privacy. In 1996 I tore down the old cabin and built the three level Ski Chalet-Style Lake Home with an open loft to facilitate the "togetherness" that a "cabin" is supposed to convey. Since I am so busy with work and I use the place only a couple weeks per year, I decided to share it with you!
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
I enjoy all aspects of the place including peace and quiet, all the wildlife in the woods surrounding the house, great fishing, swimming, the large deck overlooking the lake, all of it. It's also the rarity to have such a large private lot on such a nice lake with no neighbors. It makes me glad I purchased those additional lots adjacent to the property. To me, there is no replacement for seclusion and privacy and this place really delivers.
Owner's Map of Aitkin
I very much enjoy my lakehome but as a business owner I am busy and use it very little. Instead of leaving it vacant most of the time I wanted to make it available to you to have an alternative to the mundane "same old thing" resort style vacation. Stay at my home year round as I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
Thank You,
Dave

The house and the amenities were enjoyable, but the seclusion is what sealed the deal! Enjoyed a peaceful week away from it all!

“I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated our stay at Sullivan Lake. From the minute we walked in the door we felt at home. It was so peaceful and so relaxing. This is something I have wanted to do for years, and we picked the perfect place. We talked about doing this again next summer. Personally I could pack my bags and just move in! The owners are very fortunate.”

This property definately lived up to the ad, in fact the pictures cant do the property justice. Very nice, well equiped cabin, more than ample sleeping arrangements, nice dock, beautiful lake, the fishing was even better than stated. The privacy (no close neighbors at all) was great. I would not hesitate to recommend this property. Our group has been doing this for 10 years all over the US and this was one of the nicest properties we have found. Thanks. Well done.

"My experience at the cabin was lovely. It was secluded...very peaceful, yet had all the comforts of home with a large fireplace, well equipped kitchen and room for gathering with friends and family. There was plenty of space for everyone to spreadout on one of three levels, in comfy rooms outfitted in "Up North" decor. The views from the loft area and sitting areas were wonderful. And the fish just about jumped in the boat! Very nice! I highly recommend this property." Renee M - Minnesota

At less than 2.5 hours from the Twin Cities--not too far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The fishing is simply amazing! Your lake home is a peaceful retreat and the sunsets are second to none! This cabin has it all, plenty of room, modern conveniences, and still retains the feel of what a lake home should be. The decor and layout is exactly what a person needs to escape life in the fast lane. I would highly recommend anyone looking for the perfect getaway to book some time here. Chad P, CO

Just wanted you to know we had a wonderful time at your lake home on Sullivan Lake. The property was REALLY nice and we enjoyed all the "fish" decorating. It was great to vacation with our adult kids and their spouse/boyfriend. Everyone said it was the best vacation ever and voted to make it an annual event. The fishing was awesome. We didn't even put our boat in the water. We had a campfire one night in the fire pit which was great & went to Pelican Lake to swim one day. Our family has grown up going "up north" to a cabin. Thanks again for allowing us to enjoy the cabin and having a memorable family time. As you mentioned, a pontoon would be a nice addition in the future. Thanks again! Debbie J and Family, MN

We had such a great time up there! The cabin was beautiful and we loved having the lake pretty much to ourselves. My husband and his friend caught their limit of sunfish also and my friend and I enjoyed the beautiful sunshiny weather on the floating platform :) All in all a very relaxing weekend. We’ll probably be in contact with you again within the next year to go back! Thanks again! Robin U and Friends, MN
