There is a beautiful Lake Home in the Brainerd Lakes Area, near Aitkin, MN on Lake Sullivan just over 2 hours from the Twin Cities. The house is a Ski Chalet with a steep pitched roof, over 1900 finished square feet on three levels, a 22' vaulted ceiling of knotty pine, and three stories of windows overlooking the large deck and lake.
It is a place to bring your family and friends for a relaxing time. The house sleeps 9 people in beds with two private bedrooms, an open dormitory-style loft, and even space for your porta-cribs and airbeds. You have all the amenities of home, even a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dishes and there is a microwave for late night popcorn, watching your favorite DVD movie on the TV.
This Lake Home Retreat is unlike any other….PRIVATE, with few other cabins, campers or noise to invade your precious vacation, and with deep water and lots of shoreline on 22 private acres. Provided are a bocce ball set, ladder golf, horseshoes, small swimming pool for the kiddies, and board games and DVD for rainy days plus free use of our boat and motor! You and your family can relax and enjoy the surrounding woods and yard, all 22 acres of it or just enjoy each other's company on the large deck overlooking the lake. Relax and sit on the bench on the dock or get some sun and a swim from the floating swimming platform anchored out front in 25' of water. Relax by the lakeside firepit or play a game of horseshoes. Maybe golf at one of the many courses around, or how about an evening at the Casino just 30 minutes away, or shopping, or other eating and recreation in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Maybe curling up with your latest favorite book, or playing board games or cards is your style. Cook whatever you wish on the deck with the Weber grill, but remember your charcoal and fluid!
Fishing is great entertainment for Big and Little Kids alike……pan fish galore with huge bass, northern and an occasional walleye to surprise you. A 14’ fishing boat and trolling motor is yours to use at no extra charge. Remember to pack your favorite lures and poles, and don’t forget your life jackets!

I enjoy my lakehome very much! But as a business owner I only use it a couple of weeks per year so I'd love to share it with you!
Why the Owner Chose Aitkin
My father purchased the land in 1956. He was enamored by the property's beauty, the tremendous fishing, and the privacy. In 1996 I tore down the old cabin and built the three level Ski Chalet-Style Lake Home with an open loft to facilitate the "togetherness" that a "cabin" is supposed to convey. Since I am so busy with work and I use the place only a couple weeks per year, I decided to share it with you!
The Unique Benefits of this Lake Home
I enjoy all aspects of the place including peace and quiet, all the wildlife in the woods surrounding the house, great fishing, swimming, the large deck overlooking the lake, all of it. It's also the rarity to have such a large private lot on such a nice lake with no neighbors. It makes me glad I purchased those additional lots adjacent to the property. To me, there is no replacement for seclusion and privacy and this place really delivers.
