This home is beautiful! A well thought out construction using interesting and innovative materials/design. The screened porch is FABULOUS!! This house is just as described (and pictured); well maintained and clean. The location is a convenient walk, bike ride or drive to everything on Ocracoke. Brian is a very nice guy, easy to talk to and he made sure we knew that the Hatteras ferry wasn't running. Thank you for opening up your home to us, Brian!! Our best meals out were at Howard's Pub and the Back Porch. The clam chowder at Dajio's is different but very tasty. Definitely plan on coming back to this house in the future!
Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed your stay on the island. Fortunately the dredge arrived and the Hatteras ferry is once again running. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Brian

This home was perfect. From the shady screened in porch to the Ikea-esq decor, the 8 of us felt very comfortable, never crowded. The kitchen is well appointed and the location is convenient to everything.

This was about our 20th vacation to Ocracoke, and by far, our best accommodations. The home was designed by the owner with open spaces and great light. Everything (TV, A/C, appliances, etc) worked great and the kitchen had everything we needed -- and three of the six of us are serious about cooking. The close location to town activities, large/comfortable screened-in porch, outdoor shower, grill, herbs in the garden, and many other amenities made this a fantastic place to stay. The owner lives in town and was extremely pleasant, helpful, and easy to contact. We would definitely rent this house again.

This is our 10th summer vacation and 5th house here at Ocracoke and I would rent this house again. The home is modern with great light and open spaces. Very pleasant for the eye. Everything (air conditioning, plumbing, appliances etc) worked great and the kitchen was very well appointed with everything we needed (and we like to cook!). The owners are local and made themselves available in case of troubles, of which there were none. The screened in porch was particularly large and comfortable. Overall a fine place to spend a week.
Owner response:We are happy you enjoyed your vacation and look forward to seeing you again.

We were immediately taken by this beautiful Island home the minute we walked in. It was open and spacious with lots of windows and light although nestled in the trees. Brian, the owner was there to welcome us with the key and answer our questions. The house was neat, clean, and everything described on the website and more. The kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed using the outdoor grill and screened in porch. The beds and furnishings were very comfortable. The location of the house was perfect, as we were able to walk to nearby shops and restaurants. The beach was a very short drive away; and because we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle, we were able to drive right on the beach. The house was perfect for our family of four plus dog, and we would definitely consider renting it again in the future.

We just returned from a week's stay at Brian's home in Ocracoke. We were greeted by Brian and his wife Heidi, and they gave us a grand tour of their home, which is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings, spacious, well-equipped kitchen, and the enormous, breezy outdoor porch were aspects of the house that "wowed" us. The house was child-friendly with books and toys for our baby to play with, as well as "grandma and grandpa-friendly" with fresh herbs in the garden for them to cook with. We loved the location as well--just a short walk into town for ice cream or an evening meal. Brian and Heidi were also super-helpful with suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ocracoke. We truly had a memorable trip!

I knew when I first stepped into the doorway of the porch, this was a very special home. It flowed with the nature around it, and was calming. The owner came by to make sure everything was in order and to check to see if we needed anything, which we didn't, everything was perfect. My husband and I live about 90 miles to the north on the Outer Banks, and just wanted a quick getaway. We also wanted a place that we could take our dog Maggie. This was the perfect solution. The home far exceeded our expectations. The decor and environment were peaceful, simple and relaxing, exactly what we wanted. We could hear the sound of the ocean at the same time as the crickets chirping in the night. A perfect getaway for anyone. The design of the home is simple, yet elegant. It is inspiring and comforting. I think what we liked most was the efficient use of the available space. We also like the fact that the home is so eco friendly. The home feels like it is far larger than it is, and the way the porch opens up to the great room makes a perfect setting for families or couples. The home is also very convenient to anywhere on the island. We were able to walk to the beach, to get coffee, and meet friends for lunch. The central location is perfect for whatever you want to do. We will definitely be back to stay at this home again. We looked at many places on the island, and this is the one we will return to year after year. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful vacation,

This house is in a great location and very "kid friendly". The owners are very friendly and live close by, in case you need anything. You'll love the large living area on the first floor and the beautiful screened in porch!

What a wonderful home! We loved the contemporary design. The large, open living area with kitchen was perfect for our big family. Great screen porch too. Location was ideal as it was close to town and the beach. Ocracoke has lots of nice eating establishments too. The fishing could not have been better as we are taking a cooler full of fish home with us. AJ loved all of the kids toys and books. Everyone enjoyed the entire week!

I agree that the pictures don't do justice to this fantastic house! The design and layout of the space is really comfortable and beautiful. The house is a joy to be in and to look at. We especially loved the spacious and gracious screened porch and the lovely living room area.

For starters, the photos don't do this property justice. Aside from Ocracoke being a spectacular barrier island with a great swimming ocean, cycling-friendly streets and breath-taking sunsets, the Samick's home is ingeniously engineered and as lovely as any HGTV house. There was great space for our family of four and Magnolia May the 11 pound Beagle, who loved her first trip to the beach. But we're torn: we want to shout from the mountaintops how lovely this home is ... yet we don't want to lose our space in the rotation! We'll be back.

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation in a truly beautiful home! The location of the house was perfect; close enough to walk to shops/village or drive to beach. There was ample space for our family of 6 to thoroughly enjoy our stay.

This is a very nice house on a dead-end street in a quiet residential neighborhood. Two short blocks to walk to the important village spots: the Vegetable Man, the coffee shop, nice restaurants and shops, etc. We found that by staying here, we could really relax!
