Our lovely house has 6 bedrooms, Pool, Deepwater Dock and a Guest House on 3 acres on beautiful Coecles Harbor.
It is 3 years old and in immaculate condition, though we built it to mimic an Historic House with plastered walls and old style woodwork. There is a huge Covered Porch for relaxing and gazing out to the mouth of the Harbor. Also an enormous gourmet kitchen with a view, with top end appliances and extra fridge for drinks. Adjacent to the kitchen is a light filled Sun Porch with wrap around windows and a flat screen TV. There is large LR/DR with fireplace, 10' ceiling and antiques. Master Bedroom has a 4 poster bed and fireplace. In the basement is a pool table, a ping pong table, and a big screen TV.
Gunite Pool, outdoor shower, kayaks, bikes, hammock, swing. Dock can take a boat with a 4 foot draw.
Perfect for a large family or two. The main house sleeps 11; 3 of the bedrooms have en suite baths. Beds all have top quality mattresses and linens. In the guest house there is a bedroom with a queen and a single bed and a living room with a view, a pull out sofa and a kitchenette.
Very quietly situated on a dead end on sleepy Little Ram Island. The house is wonderful for entertaining; feed 12 on the table on the porch or in the Dining Room, or spill out onto the enormous lawn which sweeps down to the harbor.
Step back in time once you get off the ferry on Shelter Island, with historic old houses and a sleepy way of life. It is wonderful for fishing, sailing, biking or hiking in 400 acre Mashomack Preserve. Come enjoy the firemen’s barbeque, the Historic Society’s “Day in History” or the house and garden tours. Hampton Beaches 30 minute Drive. Golf, Sailing, Boating, Riding.

We have 4 kids who either sail or ride during our summers in Shelter Island. They love their summers here. My husband sails whenever he gets a chance. I enjoy cooking big lunches and dinners, and entertaining.
Why the Owner Chose Shelter Island
It is close to NY where we live, but it feels very far away form everything. We love that it's quiet, got lots of sailing and very friendly people.
