Elk Lake and Torch Lake are among the top twenty most beautiful lakes in the world. Skegemog is one of the best fishing lakes in Northern Michigan for bass, northern pike and muskies.   • This is a great place to visit. If you kayak, there is no better place to launch from. This summer (2005), I took my Feathercraft Java and did some 14 kayak trips over the week that we were there. I got close and personal to a family of loons. This was something that other powerboats were unable to do. In addition, the lodge is a quiet place to rest. It is also a great place to act as a base for day trips to Traverse City, Frankfort, Leeland, Charlesvoix, and Mackinaw City. This is a great place and it has become part of our family's summer plans.

  • This is a wonderful and roomy property with beautiful views. The condo is extremely well equipped with games, toys, linens, and kitchen equipment. The washer and dryer are a huge bonus, and the owner makes sure there are detergent, coffee and other basic necessities to make your stay more comfortable. Location is perfect - a restaurant/bar across the street, a small market within easy walking distance, and just steps to the edge of Elk Lake. We've rented for the past two years, and are looking forward to returning next summer -
