My husband searched quite a bit for a condo when we planned our trip to Maui. We had only 3 requests - within walking distance to the ocean, a real ocean view (not a sliver of one), and a bed big enough for our 6 foot teenager in the spare bedroom! The pictures on the web site for Lokelani Condos fit our desires! We booked our reservation and off we flew! On the way, we read where some condos don't resemble what they show in their pictures. Ha, not at Lokelani Condos! Their pictures were exactly how the condo looked. In fact, I go back to the pictures and sigh, remembering what a great time we had during our escape from reality in paradise!

We just returned home today from what was an amazing stay for us at the Polynesian Shores Unit 126, owned by Greg Salmon. We really couldn't have asked for better. We arrived late the first night to find the unit opened up, the lights on and the beds ready for my 4 person family. We tucked the little ones into each of their own twin beds and then we were off to slumber in our own king bed in the well appointed master bedroom. The sounds of waves crashing on the beach came through our louvered windows along with the ocean breezes. It was perfect and alluded to what we would see in the morning. Because of the 4 hour time difference for us, we woke early the next day to two walls of sliding doors just off our kitchen and living room. Our two sided lanai provided for an amazing view of the wide open sea. An amazing treat from this corner unit. I drove off to the local Times Market (much nicer and cheaper than Safeway) and picked up breakfast ingredients and was back in a flash making breakfast in our well appointed and fairly new kitchen with stainless appliances. It was perfect. Each evening the sunsets from our patio, the well appointed and lovely cared for grounds, and ocean deck were AMAZING.Speaking of the the grounds, look for Andy! He is a great guy, there almost every day and bonded immediately with our kids, who sought him out every day to say good morning. The majority of Polynesian Shores is rented out as vacation rentals with only a few full time residents. Most guests stay for several days, so you start to make friends with some. It's fun and gave the kids some friends to play with at night. We never used the pool, but many did and it looked lovely. The location is pretty nice, with nothing being too far away and the best beach we found for our 4 and 2 year old was Baby beach and it was only 5 minutes away. Are there problems here? Not really. Yes, you will find bugs and occasional ants. It is a warm tropical island, expect that anywhere. They aren't a huge problem, but you will see them. Don't like bugs? Don't come to an island. Noise is not a problem, unless you don't like the ocean. They have quiet hours from 10-8 each day and they are pretty well respected. Rude smokers occasionally will sneak a puff on the walkways and pollute your space, but only they are to blame. There is a designated smoking area well away from the units, but some smokers can't seem to walk. We loved our stay.

We absolutely loved every minute of our time at the Polynesian Shores 126 it was very comfortable for the four of us. Excellent value and a gorgeous view. Easy parking and very friendly guests.. The pool was super-clean and we appreciated having access to the gas grill. It was heavenly. The only downside is that the unit has no AC. The condo has excellent cross-breezes and we were quite comfortable except that the second bedroom would get a little stuffy. This probably isn't an issue with the smaller units.

I stayed at the Polynesian Shore 126 for 8 nights with some friends a few weeks ago and we were all very impressed with the experience. It exceeded all our expectations, especially for the price. The unit we stayed in (126) was extra wide with 2b2b, very clean and well equipped with kitchen supplies, beach chairs, boogie boards and even a telescope to use. The property is only a few steps from the water and all the units have amazing views of the ocean from the very generous lanais. There isn't much of a beach directly in from of the property, but there is some sand right next door and, since all the beaches on Hawaii are public, it doesn't really matter. This is not a resort area with really big beaches, but that's part of why we liked it so much.

We loved it. My wife and I spent 2 weeks there. We stayed in the end unit #126, very quiet, roomy and peaceful. There are 52 units, the views were incredible and every night the green sea turtles came in to the shore to eat the sea grass, they were only 2-6 feet away from the shore. Lots of places to eat close by and the owners of the unit gave us some great local info to use. For the money it was well worth it. The trade winds blew night and day from the east coming through our back windows and cooling us down since there was no air conditioning which we did not really need. The humidity was a relatively low 40-60%, the air temp was 84 and the sun was out daily, only rained a little if any. We would go back just to sit on the lanai and enjoy the fabulous sunsets over Molokai and Lanai straight in front of us.

This condo is so close to the ocean that you almost feel like you're in it! The views are spectacular as are the sunsets. We ate most of our meals here since it has the best seats in the house! It has a large pool with plenty of lounge chairs. The grounds are well maintained with many beautiful flowers. The unit is well stocked with everything you need. It even has a cooler and beach chairs you can use for trips to the beach. We hope to return for many future vacations!

Polynesian Shores 126 was absolutely beautiful. When I opened the door to my unit, the first sight to hit my view was the blue-green Pacific just beyond the lanai. The unit was nicely furnished and equipped with everything "just like home" except you bring your own food of course. My first thought was "I'll be back!" Many locals also live in the area, which made me feel like a real Maui insider. This was my first visit to any of the Hawaiian Islands and I would definitely recommend This unit to anyone who would enjoy "tourist-limited" (small-scale condominium) experience on Maui

This unit is ground floor on Ocean with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. While the resort does not seem like much from the outside this unit had been very tastefully remodeled. You can watch Whales and Turtles right from the Lani. The area was very quiet and laid back. The good side of that is you are only a few minutes from downtown Lahaina in your car. We will be back.

Being a first time user of VRBO, I was skeptical. However when we arrived at this unit our jaws hit the floor. Talk about views unreal. Everything was better than we ever could have expected. There where plenty of beach towels and chairs. We snorkled with turtles right out in front of the condo Attt all around. The only bummer is we had to leave. We will be back

Stayed 1/05 – 1/12. Condo was very clean, well stocked and looked like it was recently updated. Felt like a home away from home. These condos are a bit smaller than some of the others in the area but you can’t beat what you’re getting for the price. Some friends staying in a nearby hotel were very jealous of our accommodations here. By far the best part was THE VIEW! We were literally steps from the water and the sound of the waves and the scent from the plumeria trees was so relaxing. The grounds are very beautiful and well kept. We could see whales and beautiful sunsets from our lanai every day. Very quiet and romantic location. If you are used to being pampered at a resort this might not be the place for you but it was the perfect paradise for us.

The grounds are perfectly kept! The view of the ocean is quite lovely at any time of day. The sunsets are incredible. There are large turtles right in the bay all day long! We saw dolphins swimming by one morning. There is a pool and BBQ grill. Very close to some good restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked. All furniture was nice. Would recommend for children, and couples We will return.

We have been to Maui over twenty times but our stay at this unit was the best ever. We found it online and it was all it was represented and more. It has a nice bedroom and the place is really nicely remodeled with granite counter tops, all the amenities of home except with a stunning view! It is a very private unit and a quiet complex, unlike some of the other places we have stayed in Napili Bay. We sat an the lanai and watched the ocean and the island of Molokai, whales in the distance and a few wind surfers. It was the most amazing location. We liked having a full kitchen and cooking and eating on the lanai. There are so many things to do on West Maui and some great beaches, next door and all up and down the coast. We drove up to the blow hole for the first time too, beautiful scenery. Favorite fresh fish was at Kimo's in Lahaina again this year. We also did the new Kapalua coastal trail which is very close by and it was gorgeous. Cannot wait to go back!

We stayed in unit 126 in November and it was wonderful. This luxurious unit was very spacious (two floors of fun), beautifully furnished, spotless, very comfy and had all of the amenities needed for a relaxing time.We found everything what we needed in the kitchen and around the condo. The building itself is located very close to the ocean, has a small sandy beach some distance from the unit 126, so nobody disturbed us during our meals/whale watching/suntanning sessions on our both lanais. And the view was truly amazing. The distance from the street was a plus since we’ve never heard even one car passing by. We were very pleased with our accommodation in every way and will be renting the same unit for our next stay in Maui.

When we walked into the unit, our breath was taken away by the view. You cannot get any closer to the ocean! Beautiful sunsets, whale and turtle watching, all from your balcony. The unit was very clean, nicely stocked with items needed for a 10 day stay. They even had a cooler for packing picnic lunches and lawn chairs for us to use. The Resort is located in a nice quiet area of Maui and has a small, but clean beach right next door. We would definitely recommend this place to others. You will not be disappointed.

We just got back from our vacation in Maui. I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed your unit. We have never stayed right on the ocean before and it was a real treat for us. Hearing the ocean as we fell asleep was so calming. Eating meals out on the deck at breakfast and dinner at sunset was awesome. Your location is top notch and a very convenient part of the island. If we ever get back to Maui we would definately like to stay there again. Thank you for working with me to help fit your rates within my budget.

What a perfect spot for a beautiful, relaxing vacation to Maui! The condo is RIGHT on the ocean... it's spacious, cozy, well equipped, nice kitchen, bedrooms and living room that both that open out on to a lanai! You sleep listening to the waves! There is also a lovely swimming pool right next to the ocean....The location is just perfect! It is situated about 5 miles from the town of Lahaina (which is great fun!) and has a nice 'neighborhood' feel to it. For example, you can walk a short distance and go to a Farmers Market and get yourself a fresh papaya for breakfast! Speaking of food , there are so many great places to eat...it's hard to choose!

This was our first trip to Maui. Greg the owner was more than helpful through the entire process. He provided us with tons of local information. Everything that he described about the condo was dead on. We bbq'd on the deck every night. Erin and Johnny V are great characters and added to our stay. We hope that we will be able to make this and annual trip. Many Mahalos Greg.

We surprised my Mom with a weekend on the West Side of Maui for her 75th birthday. This condo was amazing! It's right on the ocean with a great swimming beach which is a rare find in this area. We saw the turtles swimming right in front of our condo. It's well appionted with every kitchen item you could need. The beds are so comfortable and are on the ocean side of the unit so you have a nice breeze all night. We've already booked this for a long weekend in November and plan many more stays at this condo. It's laid out perfect for our family with two bedrooms and Two full Bathrooms

The only bad thing is we had to leave. Hopefully we will be able to return.

My husband and I stayed here with his parents for an extended week in October 2009. The condo was spacious, clean, and in good condition. The beds were comfortable; towels and linens plentiful. The kitchen is on the small side, but, when you are on vacation, who is going to spend time in there anyway? The view from the lanai was beautiful. It was fun to sit there in the early evening and watch the turtles as they came close to shore. The beach in front of the condo is a bit short for strolling, but, there are plenty of beaches near by. We plan to stay here our next trip to Maui, which is soon, I hope!

The condo we stayed in was decorated very nice and had the owners personal touches everywhere. The beach is small but private and the the snorkeling is great. The noise from the Ocean is wonderful to fall a sleep to. The location is excellent, and a short drive to stores and resturants. There are fruit stands and shopping centers within walking distance. This turned out to be the most wonderful place for a holiday. The ocean and sunset views are second to none. The unit are nicely equipped including full kitchen. Although there was no air conditioning, bit was not needed with the nice trade winds which blow through the condominium. There were also two ceiling fans which kept it very pleasant. It was very nice to have high speed internet access available at no extra charge to keep track of family email and news. You will really enjoy the park like setting of this condominium with the beautiful gardens and flowers. It certainly deserves a 5 star rating! The tiki deck is not to be missed we spent many a night down there for sunset.

The view was beautiful of the ocean and was just a few feet from shore. Parking was close to the entrance and everything was clean. I was so comfortable inside that I was almost content to stay inside, but of course we wanted to see everything we could. Loved the whole stay in Maui! Polynesian Shores is situated in a great location especially it's fantastic oceanfront. We had the opportunity to swim daily with sea turtles and a fantastic array of tropical fish. The ocean is no more than 50 yards from any room at the Polynesian Shores. I thought I wouldn't survive without AC but found the trade winds were both cooling and relaxing. Beautiful nightly sunsets with views of Lanai and Molokai. The grounds have a great variety of beautifully groomed tropical plants. The pool was never crowded always clean and well cared for. We had 3 adults in our group. We found the room to be very comfortable. Most rooms have both garden and ocean views. We had Direct Ocean front nd it was spectacular.

My wife and I spent split our honeymoon staying on Maui and the Big Island, and we are so glad we chose this great condo for our stay on Maui. It had everything we needed and more. We were blown away at how well-stocked the Condo was. We love cooking, so it worked out great because the kitchen is super nice and has everything you need to make the perfect dinner to enjoy while watching the great sunsets right off your private lanai. There is a closet full of everything you could need for the beach: tons of towels, beach chairs, boogie board, some snorkel fins, beach bag, umbrella, binoculars, and much more. The condo has no air but you don't need it because with the abundance of windows and the great trade winds you can just sit back, relax, and feel the breeze. There are tons of things to do within a short drive of the condo. Our favorite beach was Baby Beach, its a 10 minute drive and trust it was the best beach on Maui or the big island. I would also recommend Black Rock beach, and snorkeling just about anywhere on the west side of the island.

It was totally clean and well maintained. We were there for our 50th anniversary and with my daughter and her family. My daughter and her husband went to local restaurants. We had a minor repair needed and it was done immediately. I would definitely recommend this one to people of all ages. It is gorgeous! Being directly on the ocean is fabulous. We didn't do many activities, we just wanted to sit and stare at the ocean. We were there 9 days.

We stayed in room #126 in September 2009. It was so comfortable and clean; great comfy bed, and the sites and sounds from the patio were breathtaking! Having a ocean front view was priceless. We faced West, and saw the islands Lanai and Molokai, with beautiful nightly sunsets beyond the gracious palm trees blowing away. I took numerous great photos from this area alone. You can see sea turtles and whales from the ground floor patio when the sun was setting. This Condo was the best place I ever stayed due to the sights, sounds, and the convenience to shopping.

WOW talk about a great location. You could not get any closer to the ocean and the deck is a great place to meet at night and meet interesting people. Very Nicely appointed.

Polynesian Shores 126 has and unbelievable view. I did not believe Greg how beautiful it was until we arrived. The deck is the best for seeing turtles.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at Polynesian Shores unit 126. The views where breath-taking. The TIKI deck was well worth it. We where skeptical at first with VRBO but it turned out to be no hassles.

"..Your place is everything you promised and more! The sunsets were incredible! We barbequed and ate on the lanai almost every nite. It was nice that it was only a little complex, it was like having our own private pool and oceanfront. You can go out 100 yards and still stand in the water. We snorkeled right in front of the condo everyday!

"First impressions are everything, and we couldn't have asked for a better one than we walked into your condo! The condo is decorated beautifully and the view is spectacular. We saw one of the most beautiful rainbows we've ever seen one morning right after a light morning shower. It was post card material. Sailboats cross in front of you all day long and waves crashing on the shore lull you to sleep at night. We BBQ’D every night on the wonderful Tiki deck. We met some wonderfull people. We wouldn't stay in any other place. Thank you very much for the use of your beautiful condo. The next time we're in Maui, this is where we hope to stay Thanks Greg”

FABULOUS - Not your typical condo! We stayed 12/24/08 - 1/1/09 and consider this the ultimate "home away from home" for pure relaxation. It is actually much better than advertised in the description and pictures. This is a FANTASTIC option if you don't want a typical condo/apt complex and a much better choice than all the "humanity" at one of the resort hotels. Price/Value - OFF the charts, you can't go wrong here! I wish I owned it!
