This spacious $2 million beachfront home is only 3 years old and sits directly on our private Lake Michigan beach. The first floor great room has a table that easily seats 18 people, with a counter and bar stools as well. The granite-counter kitchen--which flows into the living area--has all the modern amenities, including a warming drawer and convection oven. There are two extra refrigerators in the garage as well as a bar fridge and extra fridge and freezer on the lower level. The 60 inch TV on the first floor, a 65 inch in the fabulous master bedroom and a 140 inch projection TV on the lower level satisfy all viewing needs as well as several hundred DVDs and cable TV . There is ample seating in the first floor great room, with a large sectional, overstuffed chairs and sofas--all facing the clear waters of Lake Michigan and its unparalleled sunsets.
The master bedroom (with its own bath and balcony) has a gorgeous view of the lake and its magnificent sunsets. There are seven bedrooms, seven baths and an outdoor shower to get the sand off. There are multiple areas for gathering and creating memories...even a firepit in the sand surrounded by chairs. Our lower level has a wet bar,ping pong table and foosball as well as that 140 inch projection screen for watching movies. We also have hundreds of DVDs to enjoy on that big screen.
Of the seven bedrooms--four have their own private bathroom. All of the mattresses on all of the beds are brand new. The bedroom configuration is as follows:
Master bedroom (second floor)--king bed (private bathroom w/shower)
Bedroom #2 (second floor)--queen bed and twin trundle(two twins that can be separate or combined for a king-size bed) (private bathroom with shower/tub)
Bedroom #3 (second floor)--queen bed (private bathroom w/shower)
Bedroom #4 (second floor)--two twins (private bathroom w/shower)
Bedroom #5 (first floor)--two twins (bathroom w/shower on this floor)
Bedroom #6 (lower level)--two twins (two bathrooms w/shower on this floor)
Bedroom #7 (lower level)--queen bed (two bathrooms w/shower on this floor)
There are four brand new Aerobed twin air mattresses and sofas and sectionals that can be used for sleeping.
Located only a short drive (1.25 hours approx.) from Chicago, this is an ideal getaway close to home, yet feels worlds away. Restaurants, two casinos, a water park and childrens' zoo are nearby as well and the Lighthouse Outlet Mall and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
And did we mention Notre Dame? We are within easy driving distance (35 minutes) of that Golden Dome and its famed football legacy. Lake Michigan in the fall is stunning and coupled with an ND game makes it truly memorable.

Only an hour and fifteen minutes from our Illinois home, Long Beach is an ideal getaway location. It is so close, yet it seems worlds away with its small-town charm. Everything slows down here,leading up to the glorious moment when the sun sets. We have been to many scenic places throughout the world, yet nothing compares to the sunsets in Long Beach---firey orange balls that land on Lake Michigan with awesome brilliance. WOW!

There is nothing like looking out at Lake Michigan. The sound of the waves, the flight of the sea gulls, the ever-changing sand dunes---all so calming and the elements that drew us to this beautiful location. Since we have owned our lakefront home, we have been fortunate to create many incredible family memories--s'mores around the fire, endless beanbag games, water fights, ping pong matches, countless sand castle contests. Notre Dame football weekends while our daughter played in the band were made even better when her classmates joined us at the lake after the game.
Now our grandchildren make it even better! We are lucky!
