Just returned from a weeks stay at this beautiful property. The apartment was much larger than I expected and we had everything we needed. The grocery store was just down the street, so I fixed breakfast everyday and took my time getting dressed. The enclosed back yard was great for our dog, as he does not have a fenced in yard at home. He loved being able to run and play without his lease. We were close to everything we wanted to do. We visited the Currituck Lighthouse and museum, Duck, The Wright Brothers Memorial and museum, Jockey's Ridge (twice), went fishing on the Nags Head Pier and the Jeannette Pier and had the most wonderful fresh seafood at Miller's Waterfront Restuarant. One day we took a day trip to the Bodie Light house, Hatterus Light house and the rode the ferry over to Okracoke Island to see the light house there. We hope to go back if not next spring, then next fall and plan to stay here if it is available. I would and have recommended this listing to our family and friends. Private, clean, quiet neighborhood. What more could you ask for. Loved the patio, sat out in sun and read a book while my dog played. Really feel relaxed. Thanks for such a lovely relaxing place to spend our vacation.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We stayed here with our two young children and small dog. The apartment was the perfect size for us and in a great location on the outer banks, close to everything. The home owner was gracious and after we initially met him it was as if we were alone on the property. The apartment was well furnished and clean with a full kitchen that we used to avoid eating out at every meal. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

I just got back from a pleasant vacation with my boyfriend at the Outer Banks. This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks, and Ron was more than a gracious host. Although we hit considerable traffic on the way there, when we finally arrived at his house we felt as though we reached our second home. His property is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Kitty Hawk, which provided a great deal of privacy. The living area was extremely spacious and welcoming. Ron disclosed a great deal of information regarding which restaurants to dine at, in addition to which places to explore. I would highly recommend staying at his humble abode if anyone is considering visiting the Outer Banks for a quiet getaway.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We spent 1 week at Kitty Hawk and had the greatest time!!!! Our dog and 2 year old loved the space. I got to cook almost every day, and it made a major difference not only money wise but convenience wise. We are very happy with that choice and will go back in the near future. The owner was very nice and on top of things. And even though we were at his "basement" we had privacy at all times. The grocery stores were very close and the beach was on a walking distance, you can't bit that!!!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We spent a week at Ron's casa in late June and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The host got us off to a good start with a chilled bottle of Chardonnay and a pair of chilled wine glasses left in the fridge. The apartment was clean and somewhat larger than we imagined. Our little Yorkie, Abby, enjoyed playing in the fenced-in backyard. The Kitty Hawk location was perfect for us. We spent a lot of time in Duck (about 5 miles north) and also explored to the south (Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and even a daytrip down to Ocracoke). It was a week well-spent, and Ron was a congenial host.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

This was an excellent deal. We were looking for a quiet and secluded place where we could relax and unwind. Ron's place fit that to a tee. It is tastefully furnished and the yard is really beautiful with all kinds of flowers. The bed was comfortable and the air condition kept the place beautifully cool. It is perfect for a couple who want to have some privacy in a great apartment. It is just off a golf course and the ocean is a short walk away. you are right off the main highway so dinner or stores are only a five minute drive away. Ron was the perfect host and he did more than simply take our money. He gave us several excellent tips on how to Enjoy the Outer Banks and really wanted us to have a great time. He even left a bootle of wine in the fridge with a note- welcome to the beach. You can pay far more for places closer to the beach or right on the water, but Ron's place is a great value and I would recommend it highly. I am sure that you will enjoy it as much as we did.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: I moved to the Outer Banks about 15 years ago from Australia. I came here in search of solitude, a peaceful life and a great place to kayak. I love living here and consider this to be my "home". Currently, I sell advertising for local publications and am starting a new, "green" business.
Why the Owner Chose Kitty Hawk:
The main reason I purchased my home in the Outer Banks was for the beautiful wildlife and the endless kayaking. From alligators to bears and wolves, we've got it all!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Some of the things I enjoy most about my home are its privacy, the views and the quiet, friendly neighborhood.
