Whether you’re an adventurous traveler or one who likes nothing better than to unwind with a few good books during your well-earned vacation, our family’s hideaway, which backs up to the extraordinary Red Rocks of Sedona, will provide you with first-class accommodations at a price that’s within your reach.

From the pillow-top mattresses and the luxurious bed linens to the Egyptian cotton towels in the bathrooms; from the great room’s warm kiva fireplace and adjacent flat screen TV to the completely stocked kitchen with all newer appliances and granite countertops, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how “Javelina Haven” brings you so much value for your traveling dollars.

This custom built, three-bedroom, two-bath Pueblo-style home is tucked away in the quiet, semi-rural “Coffee Pot” neighborhood near the rock formation of the same name. Our getaway is on Maxwell House Drive; you’ll see other streets carrying similarly vintage coffee brand names to carry out the theme: Sanborn, Farmer Brothers, Nescafe. Our major cross street, off Highway 89, is Coffee Pot Drive. It’s clear that those who laid out Sedona’s streets had some fun naming them!

We believe you’ll be enchanted by the West Sedona setting and wowed by the rock formations that tower over the little canyon that opens to our backyard. From the great room, breakfast nook, dining area, master bedroom and the wraparound patio you’ll see the formations known as Capitol Butte, Three Golden Chiefs and Sugarloaf. And scenic Sugarloaf Trailhead, which provides hiking and mountain bike access to a host of trails, is less than two short blocks away from our vacation home.

Get away from it all. Enjoy a stay at Javelina Haven.

Why the Owner Chose Sedona

The semi-rural setting of our house, which we've nicknamed "Javelina Haven," provides a quiet, private setting in which we can unwind. Yet, just a few minutes away are two well-stocked grocery stores and all the other services and amenities one might expect in an average-sized city, including restaurants, movie theaters, golf courses, art galleries, shopping opportunities and more, all surrounded by the amazing scenery.

Owner's Map of Sedona

We are Gil & Carol Cormaci and we are both native Southern Californians. Our primary residence is in the foothills north of Pasadena, Calif. We bought our home in Sedona to have a getaway in the Red Rock Country of Arizona. Gil loves to hike. When we're vacationing there he's up very early to take hikes before breakfast. (Our house is just a short walk from the Sugarloaf Trailhead.) Carol is fascinated by the ancient Native American ruins that can be found all over Northern Arizona, and loves the fact the house can be a base for such explorations. We're both inspired by the extraordinary beauty of Sedona.

We had a wonderful week in Sedona celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. This home was the most comfortable, convenient place we have ever rented. It is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need. There is magnificent hiking and red rock views right outide your door. Carol, the owner was so helpful in giving us suggestions on restaurants etc. We ate at all of her favorites and loved everone of them. We will definetely be back!

Sedona comfort and privacy

Guest: Marny (Vermont)
Date of Stay: 03/09/11 Review Submitted: 03/29/11

We stayed in this lovely home for 18 nights and were glad every day for the comfort and convenience it provided. The house design provides privacy for guests as much as the many windows provide an expansive outdoor connection. The house is sited in such a way that even though neighbors are fairly close you maintain a totally private feeling along with the gorgeous red rock views in the back. Any question or problems are quickly attended to by a local caretaker/handyman. Being only two short blocks from a trailhead was another big plus. You could use it for shorter hikes or as a connector to much longer treks. Our time spent here was really enhanced by having the convenience and flexibility that staying in this house provided.

Vacation Heaven

We had a splendid time in Sedona at Javalina Haven. The house was home away from home with everything we needed to "live" away from home! The location was minutes from restaurants, shopping and the grocery store. Hiking was just a couple of blocks out the back door. We felt comfortable and relaxed - just what we needed in this trip! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!

Wonderful vacation experience!

This vacation home was so perfect that the grandkids want to come back and stay here again!!! I totally agree with them and can't wait to return. Carol and Gil have made their home so inviting with all the amenities of home. There was a fruit basket and bagels with cream cheese waiting for us when we arrived. A listing of restaurants and attractions was provided and extremely helpful. The home provides easy access to all the sights/attractions around Sedona. Sedona is such a beautiful city and far exceeded my expectations. I recommend Carol and Gil's home for anyone wanting a perfect vacation experience!

Simply Wonderful!

Guest: JMV (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 03/27/10 Review Submitted: 04/01/10

The moment we walked in to Gil & Carol's home, we immediately loved it! The decor is chic, warm, and comfortable, with a hint of southwestern flair. Gil & Carol leave a welcoming package of water, fruit, and bagels. The views of the red rocks are simply spectacular from this home! The back of the house is full of windows, where you can step into the back patio. Every morning I woke up, I couldn't believe how lucky we were in choosing this home for our stay. This home is simply more comfortable and private than the resort I was going to choose, and as beautiful as any high end resort. In addition, Carol gives many tips for restaurants and shopping, and she and Gil leave a Red Rock pass for their guests use, which is a great perk, Gil and Carol are tremendous hosts and I recommend their home to anyone looking for a fabulous stay. It's perfect for couples, girls getaways, or families, and I can't wait to make a return visit!

Owner response:We're blushing. Seriously, it is our true pleasure to get to know our guests via e-mail and/or phone calls ahead of their visit and to keep in touch afterward. The couple who oversee the property for us, Marco and Silvia, do a wonderful job at keeping it in impeccable condition and are the ones who deserve the credit for making sure the welcome basket is filled with items on your arrival. We couldn't do it without their help. And we wouldn't have nearly as much fun with this venture without the opportunity to deal with great guests such as you! Thanks so much for your kind words, Carol and Gil

We had a wonderful time in Sedona area, thanks to you guys. Your house is beautiful, wonderfully located and fully stocked beyond belief. There is no need for anything!! We sat on the patio every night and gazed at the stars, counting the falling stars, usually about 6 - 12 every night. Again, thank you so much for everything, I will certainly tell everyone headed that direction about Javelina Haven.

a vacation home with a B&B feel

Guest: Jennifer and Erik (Southern California)
Date of Stay: 11/14/09 Review Submitted: 12/05/09

Javelina Haven provided the convenience of a rental home with the personal touches of a high class B&B. This was apparent from the first contact with owners Gil and Carol. The home was spotless and filled with little luxuries that normally aren't included in rentals at this price such as, the bagels, fruit, coffee, and jam that greets you on arrival; the large, thick towels in the bathrooms; and the national parks parking pass that allows for access to the amazing vistas found in Sedona. The home itself is spacious with amazing views of Coffee Pot and Sugar Loaf mountains. We found the kitchen nook to be the most comfortable place with the best views. (The large dining table seemed excessive for just the two of us but would be wonderful for family gatherings.) We watched the Leonid meteor shower from the patio. The back yard is secluded and private. In fact, we didn't realize how many homes are in the area until we were at the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Gil and Carol also provide a nice listing of attractions and restaurants in the area along with maps and tips that made getting around in Sedona a breeze. Take their advise and eat at Elote Cafe. It is amazing! The hike to the top of Sugar Loaf is worth the calories. Just remember to turn right at the cairn with the post sticking out of it. (The sign indicating the summit trail was missing.) Sedona itself is full of interesting art galleries, shops, and native american ruins. There is so much to see and do that a single week isn't enough time. We would highly recommend Javelina Haven to friends and family. We will be returning again next fall.

Truly a Haven!

Guest: Mike and Carol aka (Tavares, FL)
Date of Stay: 11/07/09 Review Submitted: 11/27/09

We had the good fortune to stay @ Javelina Haven in Nov '09 and loved everything about it! The location was great - close to everything, yet far enough off the main roads to make it a perfect, quiet 'home away from home' for us. The home is lovely and filled with every amenity - very classy but also comfortable. The owners furnished it like we would have done if it were our own home, including not chintzing on housewares & textiles. The bath towels were plush, thick and soft, tableware high-quality - even a very good corkscrew! The back deck is very comfortable and has great red rock views. We spent mornings out there with our coffee, and also late afternoons - nothing like a comfy deck, birds chirping & a nice bottle of wine after a day of hiking! We go to Sedona regularly and have done hotels, resorts & B&Bs. This is, by far, our favorite. We will definitely be coming back. I especially appreciated having more than just a hotel room for the week we were there, as I fell hiking and broke my arm! Having a comfortable home such as this, with a king bed, large walkin shower, comfy couch, large-scrn TV & digital dish made all the difference (and yes, I still went hiking every day!) Thanks Carol & Gil, for letting us enjoy your wonderful home!

Beautiful house with even better views!

Guest: cbohnert (San Diego, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/01/09 Review Submitted: 11/13/09

We stayed at the house for a week in November and absolutely loved it! The house itself is very comfortable and warm. There is plenty of space with 3 bedrooms and a large common-area. The open layout makes it easy to entertain. The house has all the amenities you could want. However, the best part of the house is the huge windows, bringing in the beautiful views of the red rock cliffs. From virtually every room you feel like you are part of the outdoors. The location of the house is great too! You can get to numerous trailheads just a few blocks away. The best way to start your morning is a hike to the summit of Sugarloaf mountain (a manageable 30 minute hike) to watch the sunrise. After that, relax on the patio back at the house with a warm cup of coffee. We love the house and plan on coming back!

FANTASTIC!

Date of Stay: 09/19/09 Review Submitted: 09/28/09

A wonderful, comfortable home near Coffee Pot Mountain. Every amenity is included. Fruit, bagels and water were provided so that when we arrived, we could eat a light snack. WiFi was easy to hook up. Large Flat Panel TV provided for good Sunday football. Master Bed very comfortable. Decor is Southwest, and the place is impeccable. A pass to the Red Rock Forest is provided. Convenient to a lot of great restaurants. The ARCO on the corner has the cheapest gas in all of Sedona. Grocery stores less than 5 minute drive from the house. Carol (the owner) is easy to reach by phone and wants to make sure that your stay is great. Would return tomorrow if I could!
