The Coronado Shores is a gated, beachfront resort complex with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the bay on the other. The complex includes eight tennis courts and four swimming pools/spas, gas barbecues and picnic tables.
There is a clubhouse with bar, big screen TV, pool table and veranda. Below the clubhouse is a fully equipped fitness center. These facilities are accessed with photo I.D. cards available to tenants for $20 each.
Guests of tenants may access the pools and clubhouse free of charge when accompanied by the tenant with temporary passes provided by the 24-hour door person. For more information regarding the complex facilities please go to the official site for the Coronado Shores Condominium Association.
From the pools and clubhouse veranda overlooking the white sandy beach, you can see Point Loma, the Coronado Islands, Tijuana (Mexico) and the entrance to the San Diego harbor. Within walking distance are excellent restaurants; bike trails; a beautiful 18-hole municipal golf course; community center with rock climbing wall; boat and jet-ski rentals; the world famous Hotel Del Coronado; and the outstanding Lamb’s Players Theatre.
By ferry, water taxi or car, you can visit the vibrant city of San Diego with sporting events, multi-plex cinema, live theater, Midway museum, Sea Port village, the Gas Lamp district, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park museums and much more.

We are a retired UK couple who rent condos in California and Arizona during the winter. We love American condos because they are clean and well equipped (with the very odd exception!) This condo is perfect. Its spotless, very well equipped and comes with all the mod cons including wifi and multi channel TV. What really sets it apart from the rest however is its location and the owners . Ray and Elizabeth are the absolute perfect hosts always available if you need them, they are genuinely nice people. The location which is virtually on the beach is superb allowing you to see wonderful sunsets over Point Loma. Enjoy just sitting on the balcony and taking in what has to be one of the finest views in California. The complex has all the facilities you could wish for including 4 pools ( 3 were always heated during our stay), lovely club house with bar and easy to use spotless barbeques around all the pools. The delightful gardens are beautifully maintained and the concierge always very helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

Excellent location, right on the beach – so close that when lying in bed at night gazing out the floor to ceiling windows, the gently soothing surf seemed to roll right under the bed. This condo is a roomy one bedroom unit, very clean and comfortable, perfect for a couple’s vacation. Liz and Ray, our most helpful and pleasant owners, recently renovated the kitchen and we look forward to using it on our return visit as we ate most meals at home. There was no better view than the extensive beach in front of the condo. The Coronado Shores Complex has an excellent gym and a friendly water aerobics group and if you like to walk, this is the ideal location. It is just a short walk to the stores in Coronado either along the beach sidewalk past the Hotel del Coronado or right on the beach dipping your toes in the water as you go. From the condo, looking out over the water one might think they were miles from civilization, yet the wonderful city of San Diego is just across the bridge teeming with things to do. We enjoyed the proximity of the condo to several golf courses – Coronado Island Golf Course a three minute drive and The Balboa Park Golf Courses, a ten minute drive. Thanks Ray & Liz for providing such an calm oasis for our vacations.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

Beautiful, clean, well-maintained unit located right on the beach. You can hear the surf 24 hours a day! We were able to stay out of the car by shopping on the island and carrying small backpacks to bring home food and drinks while we were out on our daily long walks. We actually preferred eating in the unit and sometimes grilling at the pool instead of going to restaurants. After all, we had an oceanside table for every meal. We swam in the pool every morning and as I mentioned before, went for long walks on the beach and through town. The Hotel del Coronado is a short walk up the beach and as a non-guest you can eat there, get coffee in the morning, ice cream in the afternoon and just enjoy this great landmark. The owners, Ray and Liz, are very helpful and you can reallly feel the pride of ownership they have for this unit. The only negative comment I will make about the property is that the longer you stay at this wonderful condo the harder it is to go back home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

About the owner: We live locally and use the condo occasionally as a get-away. Liz is head nurse in radiation oncology at Scripps Health; Ray is a management consultant and teaches business courses part-time. We love to hike, bike, and garden. Hope that you visit us soon. We enjoy the weather and the beautiful San Diego area. Eventually we will retire and live there full-time; hence, we like to keep it remodeled and clean. We also vacation there when not rented.
Why the Owner Chose Coronado:
Liz bought the condo when she was single and lived there for 20 years.

Ocean view, nice food, wonderful beach, pool, and nearby restaurants, cafes, and shopping. A very relaxing place. The condo is just a short walk south of the Hotel Del and the main street (Orange Avenue). Beautiful public golf course is about a mile away. Monthly rental only.
