This is a spacious, elegant and gracious house, beautifully furnished with many appointments. A large living room, a family/TV room, large dining room (seats 12) fully equipped gourmet kitchen, library, music room with a baby grand piano. The house is conveniently located - 5 minutes to the supermarket and 5 minutes to many area attractions.
Stonington Borough, with its many restaurants and antique shops, is a five minute drive from the house, as is the Stonington Public Beach on lovely Stonington point. The beach has both a lifeguard and a float. There are beautiful sandy ocean beaches nearby in Masquamcut and Watch Hill, Rhode Island only a 20 minute drive. Mystic Seaport and Aquarium are a five minute drive, as well as numerous golf courses. There are two world famous Indian casinos, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods open 24/7 and are only 20 minutes away. There area also many cultural activities as Stonington is close to the world famous Eugene O'Neill Playwright's Conference center where you can attend new plays in development or visit the Monte Cristo Cottage, which was the summer home of the O'Neill family at the turn of the century. The Garde Arts Center in New London offers professional touring companies of Broadway and Off Broadway shows as well as a very popular film festival and lots more.
The house is set back off the road. There are sliding glass doors across the back of the house that look out onto the beautiful park-like grounds with mature trees, gardens and surrounding woods. There's lots of room on the property for kids to play with an area for skateboarding, kickball and two hoops for basketball. The property is well maintained and a caretaker lives nearby to meet any of your needs concerning the property.
