Nestled behind gates with the main house on a private lot in a cozy Carmel Valley neighborhood, this charming 450 square-foot guesthouse was built in 2005 in the "board and batten" style typical of the area. Open and airy, it features a divided floor plan so that the sleeping area is in its own nook. Comfy couch folds out into a double sleeper bed. Cable TV, DVD/Stereo system, and wireless internet. There is a glass table with 2 comfortable wicker chairs. Large walk-in closet with washer/dryer and ample storage. Bathroom features vintage pedestal sink and clawfoot tub. The cottage is well-equipped for eating-in, yet is also an easy walk to Carmel Valley Village's restaurants and wine-tasting rooms.
Through French doors, the cottage looks out onto the Santa Lucia mountain range, into which you can walk from the property for an easy stroll in nature, or a strenuous hike. We swim in the Carmel river from April through July when the water level allows, and the small beach there is perfect for children. The spacious front deck overlooks a lush garden and lawn, and is a perfect place to relax with a good book or a glass of wine. Often in the afternoon during the summer, the "fog-line" is just a few miles to the west, and one of Carmel Valley's best attributes literally shines- the sun!
