Our mission is to give our guests a beautiful home with luxury and comfort. We want you to think of Chateau Badeaux when you think of Big Bear Lake and return enjoying the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall months. This is truly a house for all seasons.
Custom log home built in 2004, with fantastic mountain and ski slope views. Located in the upper Moonridge area, overlooking Bear Mountain, just minutes from Big Bear lake. The living room, has a wood burning fireplace, wide screen TV, DVD,(DVD Library) CD, wireless Hi speed DSL access,(so bring your laptop) cable TV, Xbox, Ipod docking station (that will also charge your ipod) board games and pool table, all this with spectacular views.
Fully equipped gourmet kitchen, includes spices, all utensils and small kitchen appliances like a Cuisinart food processor, Cappuccino machine, Coffee grinder, blender, trash compactor, double ovens, just to name a few. There is a a breakfast bar with 4 bar stools. A telescope is also available to use, so on a clear evenings you can see the moon and night sky full of stars. In the winter you can watch the skiers and snowboarders race down the slopes. In addition to the incredible views you also have grey squirels,mountain blue jays,blue birds,chikadees,wood peckers,and chipmonks. We provide the food for our wildlife, so they can be enjoyed year round, while you sit on the deck or in the great room.
For Thanksgiving and Christmas we will provide the turkey for your family.
Master King Bedroom with private bath includes Jacuzzi tub and shower, terry cloth robes available for your convenience as well as a down comforter. Two queen bedded rooms also share a large bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, two sinks and separate shower. Television and DVD players in all the bedrooms, including access to lower balcony and views of the mountains. Gas BBQ. Outdoor Spa Tub located on the upper deck with view of the mountains and stars. Laundry room with washer and dryer. We provide all the linens and towels, shampoo and soaps.
With each booking we provide a gift basket with your choice of red wine, white wine or sparkling cider, coffee beans, (coffee grinder available) candy, hot chocolate and popcorn for the kids as well. Just our way to say thank you for being our guest at Chateau Badeaux.

Our family enjoys the outdoors and sports and the ability to get away from it all. Having a second home in Big Bear Lake gives us the opportunity to do it all.
Why the Owner Chose Upper Moonridge
We built our home in Big Bear Lake because we enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, mountain-biking and water sports. Here we can do them all! Big Bear is two and a half hours away from San Diego or Los Angeles, but in another world! The village is comfortable and charming with a real small-town atmosphere. The locals are welcoming; there are restaurants, shops, art galleries and lots of things to do without feeling crowded or rushed. We chose our location because of the wonderful views of the ski slopes and the surrounding mountains. The wind through the pines is a great sound that tells us that we are in our mountain home.

A five minute drive from our home finds you at the ski slopes or the lake. Because my husband and I love to cook, the kitchen comes equipped with everything from spices to gourmet appliances, making it easy to create that perfect meal. This is a perfect home for a romantic retreat or a family get together, with plenty to do. Playing pool, or Xbox, enjoying a book or conversation near the cozy fireplace, or just watching the wildlife feed off the trees.
