Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We bought this house after visiting Kauai numerous times. Our first visit to the island was to the north shore to backpack the NaPali coastline. Since then, we decided to buy on the south shore due to its centralized location, resort feel and drier weather. We know you will love the location in Poipu since the house is within walking distance to 3-4 different beaches, restaurants, shops, pool and tennis.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our extended family love the privacy of the inner courtyard, the closeness to the Grand Hyatt and the beaches, and our parents love the single level and openess of the house.
When our kids were younger, the inner courtyard and fenced backyard were a great place for the kids to play.
This beautiful resort hotel fronts Shipwreck Beach - a great surfing or boogieboarding beach.
This beach park has restrooms, a childrens playground, picnic tables & BBQ's, gazebos with shade, and a children's wading area separated from the main ocean by a rock wall. Great for younger swimmers
The Poipu Kai pool is reserved for those guests staying in private homes. The 8 tennis courts are very well maintained. Drop-in round robins are held every Tues, Thurs and Sat.
Start the cliff-walk hike at the end of Shipwreck Beach. Hike up the cliff and then along the cliffs next to the ocean for as far as you want until you reach the golf course. Return the same way or
The spectacular Poipu Bay Golf Course is located adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa on Kauai's sun-soaked South Shore. Home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994-2006. It underwent extensive greens renovation in 2010.

We live in the California Bay Area. We have 3 school-age children and visit this house every year at least 3 times. We consider it our home away from home and our kids love the island and all its activities. We always discover something new on each visit.

We loved the house. It was so much nicer than the pictures portray. Perfect for us. Our two daughters, their husbands and their babies were very comfortable there. The house had everything we needed. The beautiful back yard was a favorite place to sit and enjoy the sun. We were able to walk to the Hyatt for our son's wedding along the gorgeous walking path. We were so sad to leave this paradise and would gladly come back to stay in this house.

The home was very inviting and fully stocked with all the amenities listed! Even beach toys, snorkels and coolers were available for our stay. The home is located in a peaceful setting and is a short walk to the Grand Hyatt and multiple beaches, including Baby Beach. We had ample room for our family and made use of the kitchen and washer/dryer. This is a truly wonderful setting for a relaxing or active vacation- or both!

We have used VRBO for several years now and this is by far the best! It was the perfect property for our mini family reunion. Everyone was delight from the grandparents to the 3 year old grandchild. The listing on the VRBO site is accurate and everything was as described. The location is perfect, a quick walk to Shipwreck or Poipu beaches and a quick drive to several fabulous restaurants. This property was everything we wanted and more and the owner was great to work with. We plan to return in the future and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

We had a great time at your home in Poipu Kai. It is very well maintained and the layout of the home was perfect for us traveling with young kids. The ability to walk on the greenbelt trails between the Hyatt, the pool, and Poipu Beach sure beat getting in and out of the car and driving everywhere. We hope to be back soon.

I had the task of finding a house that would accomodate my three children (ages 7,3 and 1), as well as, my 80 year old mother in law and her 90 year old sister (both born and raised on the Big Island). Everyone loved the house and enjoyed their stay very much. My family and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I especially enjoyed being able to walk with the kids safely to our choice of beaches. The neighborhood and adjoining resort were top notch. I look forwad to my return to Poipu and this excellent vacation rental.

Two of my daughters, my granddaughter, my great-granddaughter (4 mo.), a niece and I stayed at this beautiful home for a week. It was a great area, sort of halfway between everything. The house was beautiful, airy and roomy. The greenbelt close by made for great walks to and from a couple beaches.

We loved this house! A complete home away from home -- and in paradisee no less. There was plenty of room for us, our 2 kids and the grandparents. It's so beautiful, open and airy ... We never got in each other's way. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped We prepared a lot of delicious dinners and really enjoyed the bar-b-que and Lanai. Loved the location too. The short walk along the greenbelt to the beach was a welcome sunset acvtivity - and Poipu beach was a family favorite. Did I mention we loved this house?

I just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful vacation on Kauai. I've taken my mother and sister to all four major islands where we've stayed in houses we found on vrbo. We all agreed that yours was the best. The design of the house is great and it is very comfortably and attractively furnished. The weather was perfect too.
