My husband and I spent three weeks in your house in December, ending it with Christmas celebrations. Our son brought our new grandson to us each day for the day and his 3 year old brother some days. I was not looking forward to being away from home that long, however, upon arrival I was so comfortable I felt right at home. It felt like my Mom's home and my son and daughter said the same thing, so cozy. We appreciate Julie being so nice and making it possible for us to stay there. We enjoyed the turkeys. Would love to come and stay again in the Spring or summer when the weather is warm and we can enjoy the outsides more. It is a place that one can feel right at home. THANKS!!!

Enjoyed our brief get away to the north to enjoy the fall foliage. This cabin was conveniently located to the Blue Ridge Parkway where we spent much of our time. We had a great dinner at the Sagebrush Steakhouse in Waynesville, it was a long wait but it was worth it. The house was clean and well maintained, appropriately priced. I was happy I saw no spiders inside the house (has been a problem at others). Loved the steam out front and the rocks all around. We cooked some while we were there and found everything we needed for this. Although we played no games we saw a wide variety of board games available to play. We look forward to our next trip back. Thank you for sharing your family home with us.

My family and I stayed at this great home while we were visiting with my son that attends WCU. We had such a GREAT time at this home. Julie the owner is such a delight! She went out of her way to make sure my family had a great experience. My seven year old son loved the wild turkeys and playing on the mountain. I would greatly recommend this home to anyone that is planning on visiting WCU or just coming to relax. *Oh and to mention one more thing this home has a living room and a great room both have TV's with dvd players. It's perfect for people with kids that don't want to watch the same thing as the children or if you want to escape from them for a little bit while you have some down time. WE LOVED IT!

What a wonderful place this is!...It was perfect for our weekend getaway with our kids. Two spacious living rooms plus a super large cute vintage kitchen...the house had all kinds of vintage decor items and was spotless. The ac felt great walking in and the beds were so comfortable! We spent the day tubing at Deep Creek ..(that was so much fun)..and came back to explore the creek in front of the house and walk up to the rocks behind the house for a breathtaking view!..we spent the evening rocking on the porch and talking about the day while listening to nature around us. Secluded yet close enough for your days adventure . The owner Julie couldn't have been any nicer...We will definitely be back! hopefully make it a summer trip every year. It was the perfect place. Thanks Julie

The cabin is a nice great headquarters for a relaxing vacation. Our week just slipped by before we knew it. Our time was more or less evenly spent between lounging on the porch with a beverage - reading; playing cards; or just enjoying the mountains, the tumbling stream, and the hummingbirds (the turkeys didn't deign to pay us a visit) - or hiking nearby trails. We walked some in the Sylva conservation land, I think it was, and some on trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nearby Sylva has a number of restaurants with diverse offerings, as well as a bookstore. We also drove to Brevard Music Center one day - a bit over an hour each way - which is a nice resource for summer visitors with that interest. One can stop for a hike off the Blue Ridge or in Pisgah Forest, if planned well. All in all, a nice setting for a relaxing time.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely cabin. The boys loved playing in the creek. We took nightly walks to the end of the road and always enjoyed seeing the wild turkeys. The cabin was clean and well stocked with all the items that we needed. Location was great for sightseeing in the area. Thanks again and hope we can return someday!

This was just the place for me to stay when the purpose was peace. Reminds you of your favorite grandma's house with the same furnishings and decor. Grabbed a few books and had a wonderful time.. Sitting on the front porch listening to the sounds of the creek was equally nice with coffee in the AM or wine in the PM. Went to a nearby town and did some antique shopping and there was a sweet craft fair going on. From the back windows you look up the mountain and i saw wild turkeys 3out of 5 days i was there. Just very nice and peaceful.

We have vacationed in Western North Carolina for eighteen years and find the cabin a great jumping off spot for day trips to Asheville or northeast Georgia. Just ten minutes to Sylva yet quiet and serene. We have seen wild turkeys, hawks and even a red fox! Try the local restaurants icluding the Grek Restaurant in Dillsboro and the Rolling Stone Burritos just off the campus of Wester North Carolina University. They have 20 varieties so large they can be shared by two Granny's Chicken Palace in Maggie Valley serves scrumptious fried chicken family style. While in Maggie Valley enjoy the towns many unique shops. After sightseeing all day return to the cabin to enjoy the cool evening and light mountain breezes. We have stayed at the cabin for three years in a row and highly recommend it.

A jewel in Sylva! All the comforts of home. This will be your home away from home. It is close to area attractions, such as, white water rafting, train rides, theme parks, horseback riding, and only a 45 minute drive to Asheville & the Biltmore. It has the privacy you're looking for and wonderful for relaxing. Sit on the patio and enjoy a visit from the wild turkeys or unwind in one of two family rooms. It was perfect for our family vacation. Thanks so much Julie!! Allyson

Dear Julie, Thank you so much for the get away to NC. I think it did mom and I both good being there. Have not been in the mtns. during the summer time and was it ever so BEAUTIFUL and LUSH! To top it off the weather was like fall, 60s in the mornings burrrr...We'd sit in the rockers on the porch in the mornings and drink our coffee and make plans for the day. What beautiful scenery of the mtns. and the soothing sounds of the creek. What a wonderful and relaxing way to start and end a day! I love what you all have done to the house! I love its rustic charm, so inviting and very relaxing, just like being at home, but better! Thank you for letting my mom and me stay there. Yours truely,Cyndee
