Stayed at cabin 2nd week in April, Main reason was to fly fish the "tuck". We have stayed in that area a few times in the last 5 yrs. First time renting this cabin, excellent, we plan on returning next year. Accomadations are excellent. Very, very comfortable. Location is great no noise, far enough away to be by yourself, yet close enough to be downtown in 10 min.

We were there for the WSOP tournament at Cherokee Casino. This cabin was within 15 minutes of the casino and many other attractions in the area. Whether you want to hike, gamble, explore Asheville or the Smokey Mountains, this cabin is perfectly located. Its clean, quiet, cozy and linens are provided. The stream outside the cabin was so relaxing to listen to as we rocked on the front porch. I plan to recommend this place to family and friends.

We stayed in this cabin for the second time over Easter weekend. It was just as we remembered--clean, cozy, comfortable, and in a beautiful place. Our children love playing in the yard. It's only about 10-15 minutes from the town of Sylva where my husband's family lives. This cabin gives us our own "home" while visiting family. It's a great place.

thanks to julie my wife and I got to stay for a few days this past October. We loved the fact that the cabin was off the beaten path but yet still close enough to downtown sylva for shopping and dinner, Good sized cabin, plenty of room for a large family. We enjoyed how close sylva was to other towns. We spent a down in Gatlinburg, a day on the train in Carson City and its only an hour from Asheville. If you stay here, you gotta check out The Coffee Shop. The Coffee Shop is a well established little dinner that has been open for decades. Good, inexpensive and quick, not something you get in many restaurants these days.

This is a great place, so clean, so calming! Julie was a great communicator and made everything easy. While we stayed here we made day trips to the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoyed getting to know the area. The front porch is a lovely place to start the morning and end the day. Thank you for sharing it and making us feel so "at home"! I hope we'll be back.

This is a home, and you feel at home the moment you walk on to the porch. It is not an empty new house like so many vacation rentals. We had planned spend most of our time away from the cabin, but it was so comfortable and beautiful that we ended up spending a lot of it on the property! The seclusion offered by the trees and stream make you feel like you have the mountains to yourself, yet the property is an easy nine minutes from town and the highway. If you want to explore western North Carolina, Sylva is a wonderful central location from which to do it. It's a beautiful area, and to have a beautiful, comfortable place to lay our heads at night made our trip complete.

My family and I recently rented this property and we have nothing but love for it! We made good use of the fire pit and loved the country feel of the decorations. We loved seeing the fireflies lighting up the trees at night and the overwhelmingly beautiful view of the stars. Having a cabin to stay in instead of a cramped hotel room made all the difference for our family, it made our stay a delight. You can tell that the owners take great care of this cabin, everything is in great condition and nothing was lacking! We'll be sure to make this place our go-to place to stay anytime we're headed to NC and it's available. The owners are wonderful to communicate with, Julie is such a nice lady, we highly recommend this rental!

Thanks again for allowing us to use your "home away from home." My family was thrilled with the space and the amenities. It was so nice to have quiet time together and to watch our teens kick back and play board games. The extra living space was perfect! Your home feels just like going to Grandma's! We loved the quiet atmosphere and really enjoyed our "porch time." While it felt like we were miles away from everything, we only had to travel about ten minutes to go to our daughter's graduation at Western Carolina. We definitely hope to return to your serene cabin sometime in the future.

We had a great stay at this little cabin last weekend. My children loved the rocks just outside the house and the yard areas were great for playing. The cabin was cozy, and we took advantage of the many family board games provided. The two separate living rooms worked well for us--the smaller one was the "quiet room" and the larger living room was where the kids liked to gather to watch TV. The cabin is just a short drive to the town of Sylva. We have not visited my husband's father and step-mom in a long time, mostly because of lack of a place to stay--they live in a small trailer. Hotels with 3 kids in tow are expensive and not fun. This cabin worked out great for us. We hope to come back soon.

My husband and I spent three weeks in your house in December, ending it with Christmas celebrations. Our son brought our new grandson to us each day for the day and his 3 year old brother some days. I was not looking forward to being away from home that long, however, upon arrival I was so comfortable I felt right at home. It felt like my Mom's home and my son and daughter said the same thing, so cozy. We appreciate Julie being so nice and making it possible for us to stay there. We enjoyed the turkeys. Would love to come and stay again in the Spring or summer when the weather is warm and we can enjoy the outsides more. It is a place that one can feel right at home. THANKS!!!

Enjoyed our brief get away to the north to enjoy the fall foliage. This cabin was conveniently located to the Blue Ridge Parkway where we spent much of our time. We had a great dinner at the Sagebrush Steakhouse in Waynesville, it was a long wait but it was worth it. The house was clean and well maintained, appropriately priced. I was happy I saw no spiders inside the house (has been a problem at others). Loved the steam out front and the rocks all around. We cooked some while we were there and found everything we needed for this. Although we played no games we saw a wide variety of board games available to play. We look forward to our next trip back. Thank you for sharing your family home with us.

My family and I stayed at this great home while we were visiting with my son that attends WCU. We had such a GREAT time at this home. Julie the owner is such a delight! She went out of her way to make sure my family had a great experience. My seven year old son loved the wild turkeys and playing on the mountain. I would greatly recommend this home to anyone that is planning on visiting WCU or just coming to relax. *Oh and to mention one more thing this home has a living room and a great room both have TV's with dvd players. It's perfect for people with kids that don't want to watch the same thing as the children or if you want to escape from them for a little bit while you have some down time. WE LOVED IT!

What a wonderful place this is!...It was perfect for our weekend getaway with our kids. Two spacious living rooms plus a super large cute vintage kitchen...the house had all kinds of vintage decor items and was spotless. The ac felt great walking in and the beds were so comfortable! We spent the day tubing at Deep Creek ..(that was so much fun)..and came back to explore the creek in front of the house and walk up to the rocks behind the house for a breathtaking view!..we spent the evening rocking on the porch and talking about the day while listening to nature around us. Secluded yet close enough for your days adventure . The owner Julie couldn't have been any nicer...We will definitely be back! hopefully make it a summer trip every year. It was the perfect place. Thanks Julie

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely cabin. The boys loved playing in the creek. We took nightly walks to the end of the road and always enjoyed seeing the wild turkeys. The cabin was clean and well stocked with all the items that we needed. Location was great for sightseeing in the area. Thanks again and hope we can return someday!

The cabin is a nice great headquarters for a relaxing vacation. Our week just slipped by before we knew it. Our time was more or less evenly spent between lounging on the porch with a beverage - reading; playing cards; or just enjoying the mountains, the tumbling stream, and the hummingbirds (the turkeys didn't deign to pay us a visit) - or hiking nearby trails. We walked some in the Sylva conservation land, I think it was, and some on trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nearby Sylva has a number of restaurants with diverse offerings, as well as a bookstore. We also drove to Brevard Music Center one day - a bit over an hour each way - which is a nice resource for summer visitors with that interest. One can stop for a hike off the Blue Ridge or in Pisgah Forest, if planned well. All in all, a nice setting for a relaxing time.

We have vacationed in Western North Carolina for eighteen years and find the cabin a great jumping off spot for day trips to Asheville or northeast Georgia. Just ten minutes to Sylva yet quiet and serene. We have seen wild turkeys, hawks and even a red fox! Try the local restaurants icluding the Grek Restaurant in Dillsboro and the Rolling Stone Burritos just off the campus of Wester North Carolina University. They have 20 varieties so large they can be shared by two Granny's Chicken Palace in Maggie Valley serves scrumptious fried chicken family style. While in Maggie Valley enjoy the towns many unique shops. After sightseeing all day return to the cabin to enjoy the cool evening and light mountain breezes. We have stayed at the cabin for three years in a row and highly recommend it.

This was just the place for me to stay when the purpose was peace. Reminds you of your favorite grandma's house with the same furnishings and decor. Grabbed a few books and had a wonderful time.. Sitting on the front porch listening to the sounds of the creek was equally nice with coffee in the AM or wine in the PM. Went to a nearby town and did some antique shopping and there was a sweet craft fair going on. From the back windows you look up the mountain and i saw wild turkeys 3out of 5 days i was there. Just very nice and peaceful.

A jewel in Sylva! All the comforts of home. This will be your home away from home. It is close to area attractions, such as, white water rafting, train rides, theme parks, horseback riding, and only a 45 minute drive to Asheville & the Biltmore. It has the privacy you're looking for and wonderful for relaxing. Sit on the patio and enjoy a visit from the wild turkeys or unwind in one of two family rooms. It was perfect for our family vacation. Thanks so much Julie!! Allyson

Dear Julie, Thank you so much for the get away to NC. I think it did mom and I both good being there. Have not been in the mtns. during the summer time and was it ever so BEAUTIFUL and LUSH! To top it off the weather was like fall, 60s in the mornings burrrr...We'd sit in the rockers on the porch in the mornings and drink our coffee and make plans for the day. What beautiful scenery of the mtns. and the soothing sounds of the creek. What a wonderful and relaxing way to start and end a day! I love what you all have done to the house! I love its rustic charm, so inviting and very relaxing, just like being at home, but better! Thank you for letting my mom and me stay there. Yours truely,Cyndee
