For 12 years this has been our winter home! Compared with some of the other units in our complex ours has been lovingly maintained and upgraded.
We are located across from the beautiful white sands of Kamaole III Beach (considered one of the finest on the Island of Maui) at the quiet, southern end of Kihei just north of Wailea. This is the "Sunny side" of Maui, also known as South Maui's gold coast. Immediately adjacent to Wailea, Kihei is just 30 minutes from Kahului Airport and 40 minutes from Lahaina and Ka’anapali.
The master bedroom suite is located on the second floor and has a private bath, queen size bed, a ceiling fan, wall A/C unit, and some lovely views of foliage and the ocean. The second bedroom is on the main floor and has two twin beds (can also be made into a king with special bedding). The loft is a delightful sitting room with a queen sofa sleeper (ideal for children), a recliner and desk area.
The remodeled kitchen has all new appliances - see below for details. Also available are beach towels, many beach toys and a cooler.
This ideal, two tier design 188 unit condominium complex is beautifully landscaped with island foliage and flowers. Built in the shape of a horse shoe to enhance ocean views, there are two swimming pools, tennis courts and 2 party size barbecue grill areas where the fun often begins prior to SUNSET.
The party for some begins on our grass across from the beach where the sound of the CONCH (an old Hawaiian tradition provided on occasion by local residents) is frequently heard as the sun gradually sets over the ocean.
Our LANAI or balcony offers an exciting view of the HUMPBACK WHALES from November to early April when the females come to mate and give birth in the warm protective waters of Maui.
You can spend long relaxing days on the sunny white beaches or play a round of golf on one of the many championship courses in Wailea where the International hotels and resorts are located.
Other areas of activity include snorkeling or diving on MOLOKINI, swim with the turtles at TURTLE REEF on the Island of LANAI, take a ride up to the top of HALEAKALA’s dormant volcano and see the sunrise, then bike down the 10,023' mountain.
On Maui you can SURVIVE the road to HANA, attend an authentic HAWAIIAN LUAU, helicopter over the island or take a day trip to LAHAINA, the historic whaling village, visit KA’ANAPALI & KAPALUA in WEST MAUI or walk from KIHEI to WAILEA and stroll the famous seaside boardwalk between the ocean bluff and the beautifully landscaped grounds of world class hotels and resorts.
See the glorious splendor of Maui’s rain forest, feel the soft warm sand beneath your feet, take a dip in the clear blue ocean. Above the island's central valley lie the sugar cane and pineapple fields. Visit a local village where the old meets the new, relax on one of the three Kamaole beaches located across from our condo at Hale Kamaole.
Whether you're looking for an active vacation or restful retreat, the isle of Maui has it all. It's all here on this most beautiful of all the Hawaiian Islands.
We have a packet with directions, security info, maps, things to do on Maui, contact numbers for golf, etc that we mail after your deposit is received. The packet includes info on reduced car rental rates, & golf club rentals. If our unit isn’t available we can often recommend others.
We are constantly upgrading our Maui Home. When we're not on island you will find us in Michigan living on one of the Great Lakes (Lake Huron).

Why the Owner Chose Hale Kamaole
This was an ideal location across from Kamaole Beach III. The best and safest Maui sandy beach was just steps away. It was unique in that the complex had only 188 units compared to 500-600 unit complexes around it. We experienced only friendly neighbors and efficient staff with 1220 sq. ft. of spacious living space when we rented a unit. It was everything we were looking for so we fell in love with the area.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Kitchen equipped with lots of extras as my husband loves to show off his gourmet cooking talents for our Hale Kamaole friends! The social area by the community BBQ pit (in the lower tier) is directly across from our condo. Perfect daily opportunities to meet and make new friends and lots of lawn for the children to play games etc. I swim 5 days a week in Kihei, my husband works out at the local gym and hikes some of the most beautiful terrain in the world.
Owner's Map of Hale Kamaole
My husband Kevin and I have been happily married for 49 years. We retired 6 years ago and spend 8 months of the year on Lake Huron in Lexington, Michigan (one of the Great Lakes) and usually Kihei, Maui the other 4.
We are blessed with 4 children – 2 girls and 2 boys. We are the proud grandparents of 10 grandchildren – 5 boys and 5 girls. Ages are 16 to 8 year old triplets. Yes, that's correct triplets!

My wife and son stayed at the condo for 12 days. It was wonderful. The ocean is just across the street and food/shopping options were plentiful within walking distance. My son and I took a long walk on the lava fields that was breath taking. We also did the Road to Hana along with a sunrise view at the top of the mouth to the Maui volcano - Haleakala. The condo itself was very nice with a great pool, awesome grilling and plenty of room to play. We enjoyed many games of Bocce ball with the other guests. It was a trip of a lifetime and we plan to re-visit in the coming years. Thanks for the great memories.

“Spent the Winter Holiday break 2010: so happy with the location. No loud street noises; very much perfect for families with kids. Love the morning walks at 6:30 am with hubby in quiet, fragrant, bird chirping 70 degree weather. Having left 4 feet of snow and darkness, we were in heaven. Coffee maker, washer & dryer, boogie boards, thick beach towels – who needs anything else? Would happily book again in a heartbeat.”

Your condo is truly a home away from home - just in PARADISE! Thank you for every little touch you did for us. The kids loved all the activities and your closet full of beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, etc. Such a wonderful surprise! We loved the beautiful beach area and so much open space to play and relax Maui style. The sunsets and conch band were just delightful. We used the pool a lot and met so many interesting people grilling. Everything was fabulous! Mahalo!

Eastern Daylight Time Subj: Re: Sullivan Condo @Hale Kamaole #265 Joan and Kevin, There's no link on your website for leaving a review, so I'm sending it back for you to place. Loved your condo! I've stayed at Hale Kamaole several times in the past, and I can't think of a more perfect place for a relaxing vacation. My favorite thing is getting up early and sitting on the lanai to read, listen to the birds, and watch the ocean. Cross the street, and you're at the beach! Thanks so much for sharing your beach equipment with guests. I will definitely be back!

Your condo at Hale Kamaole was exactly what we hoped for on our most recent visit to Maui -- spacious, comfortable, well kept, nicely furnished, reasonably priced, and in the location we like best on the island. Thanks for a most satisfactory vacation rental experience. We fully expect to be repeat customers!

We have vacationed in Maui a half-dozen times since 1989 and each time we visit we stay at Hale Kamaole. Great access and wonderful nearby beaches within walking distance or only a short drive away make it a great place to enjoy Hawaii. The condo layout has been perfect for us when we travelled as a couple as well as with our 4 children. The Sullivan Condo was pleasant and well-maintained and Kevin and Joan are great to work with – they even helped us find another condo in the complex when theirs was already booked. We will be back again and Hale Kamaole #265 will be on our list.
