We and our 4 babies (Dogs ) stayed here for a week. We just loved it! The place is so beautiful & clean and the owners clearly take a lot of pride in keeping it maintained. Pictures don't do it justice. Our babies did not want to leave:-). We have stayed in a lot of cabins all over the country, but this is one of the best. The view is to die for and there are many things to do here. Gunnison was beautiful and lots of fun. We loved to watch the Border Collie at the Green Mesa Ranch running around with the horses. Overall, we highly recommend this place and hope to be back soon. Tim, Nick, Oreo, Mocha, Chewy and Cookie.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

If you are looking for a getaway vacation in the middle of Colorado (Gunnison County) this is the place to stay. Just 11 miles east of the city of Gunnison, this home affords great views, wonderful accommodations (nice kitchen with great cookware and utensils), a whirlpool tub in the master, and a wonderful deck with rocking chairs and a modern outdoor dining set. Although we wanted to spend time touring the many attractions in Gunnison County, we always found it hard to leave such a comfortable relaxing home. The owners call it a cabin. I call it an exceptional home in God's country. While staying there we saw a red fox, a Mountain Bluebird, numerous other birds, and domesticated horses and cattle, including new born calves. Several cacti were in bloom as well as wild roses. Gunnison is known as the wildflower capital of the U.S., so you may want to plan a trip around that season which is normally in late spring/early summer. The owner's were quite nice and accommodating. I am confident you will not be disappointed by renting this very nice vacation home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Just returned from an AWESOME family gathering. We explored the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, caught trout in a mountain lake, saw a family of moose on the way to Tincup ghost town, played mini gold and visited the shops in Gunnison, climbed a 14-er. And every night we relaxed in this comfortable roomy cabin on a hilltop. We so enjoyed the peace and quiet as we sat on the front and back decks, the closeness of the stars at night, the beautiful rainbows. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals for our crew to enjoy around the big dining room table. With plenty of space to relax, play games, and put a puzzle together, the cabin exceeded our expectations. and became a place to call home. Since we had a baby in the group, the washer and dryer were especially handy. Thanks, Lee, for helping make our gathering extraordinary!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This majestic home had everything we needed including views, space and all the bathroom and kitchen amenities at our fingertips. The kitchen had wonderful china, appliances and was neatly stocked with any item we needed and was easy to find. Loved the fact that I could hike right from the home's front door and one day hiked to the local tower as well as into Ohio City (9 miles away down on the nearby county road by Q.T. store.) Our little Westie dog loved running with the kids on the land and was very comfortable too! Enjoyed watching the horses run through the pasture below and all the nature and wildlife. Next time we will come with ATVs and highly recommend that too, if you do own some. Thank you Lee for sharing your beautiful home with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My wife and I lived in the Gunnison Country, in this home, for four years before moving. We enjoyed the area and our friends so much, we decided to keep the home after we moved. We take every opportunity to come home and see old friends and revitalize ourselves. Some of our favorite activities are shopping in Gunnison and Crested Butte, hiking, 4-wheeling, enjoying lunch at The Gunnisack and dinner at the Trough, but mostly, sitting on the front porch or back deck and taking in the creation around us.
Why the Owner Chose Gunnison:
We purchased this property as our residence when we lived in Gunnison. When we moved from Gunnison, we loved the friends we made, the house and the area too much to totaly leave, so we kept the house as our second home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we go to our Gunnison home, we enjoy sipping our morning coffee on the front porch and watch the sunrise and the Tomichi Creek valley wake-up. We enjoy our evening wine on the back deck while watching the sunset and the horses on the Green Mesa Ranch. Between these events, we enjoy hiking and jeeping the Gunnison Country, shopping in Gunnison and Crested Butte, boating on Blue Mesa Reservoir.
