Brand-new fishing cottage!Perfect for fishing! Hunting nearby! Summer, Fall and Winter are awesome! Beautifully decorated, hidden among the trees with the Gunnison river on both sides (it's on the tip of an island in the river). You can throw a line in from any bank around the entire tip of the island. We are probably talking about over 200 feet of private, riverfront property, tho in waders you've got the whole river.10 minutes to Almont - (float fishing, white water rafting), and 20 minutes to Crested Butte.
There are two queen-size beds plus a comfortable pull-out queen couch. The home is custom-built of cedar siding with lots of windows and a large redwood deck just for sittin'. Fully furnished.
The Tip of the Island is famous for its excellent fly fishing and bait-and-spinner trout fishing. From your charming, secluded, "tree house" location, the Gunnison River flows by you on both sides. You will enjoy the natural stereo sound of the river's main branch in your kitchen and living room windows and the west branch from your two bedroom windows.
Right next to the Dos Rios Golf Course, between the front and back nine! Plenty of water, trees, and sand enhance this well-established, mountain course. It is a great course with plenty of difficulty and a par 72 ranking. A round of golf only costs $65 per person.
The Gunnison River, famous for its lure and fly fishing, is the main tributary that feeds the largest reservoir in Colorado, Blue Mesa Lake, which is just nine miles west of the property, offering all kinds of fishing (Mackinaw, German Brown, and Rainbow Trout, and Kokanee Salmon). Sailing, waterskiing, jet skiing, parasailing, and beaching are popular pastimes enjoyed by all visitors.
Gunnison County is over 85% National Forest or Wilderness area. Local outfitters (for e.g. Tenderfoout Outfitters and Lazy FBar) will take you for the hunt of your dreams. The unique Gunnison Country is a sportsman's paradise with trophy elk and deer hunting.
There is lots of wildlife around the property including deer, red fox, rabbits, eagles, mink... and sometimes an occasional bear wanders by. In the summertime, there is lots of kayaking, canoeing, and rafting on the river - much of it organized from the Gunnison White-water River Park just one-half mile upstream. Please contact me to get you in touch with several of the white-water, river raft companies to book your personal, river raft trip.
Mountain biking is everywhere - but the Hartman Rocks Recreational Area, three miles away, is famous. Several hundred miles of trails can be explored from your bicycle, dirt bike, or just hiking. Rope climbing enthusiasts go there, too.
Around the last week in September the fall colors are fabulous! Besides the shimmering red and gold Aspen, the native cottonwoods all around you become bright gold.
