Once you enter the Blue Moon, you realize you are in a special place. The living room and dining room areas have white planked 16' ceilings and matching planked walls. The kitchen has granite countertops and grand oversized cabinets. Heart of pine hardwood floors throughout. 12 foot ceilings in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Marble showers and vanities in the bathrooms. This professionally decorated home gives you the feeling you have gone back in time but with all of the modern conveniences of a new home. The covered front porch with adirondack and rocking chairs allows you to enjoy watching all of the neighborhood activities. You can take a leisurely stroll across the street (typically you will see more bicycles than cars on our little street) to hang out at one of the community pools or play shuffleboard. Also, there is a large grassy play area - a great place for frisbee. If you go left down the sidewalk, you are just a few steps away from the sand leading to the East Pass beach area. Many people like to fish and snorkel along the jetties at the East Pass. If you prefer the Gulf beach, it is a short five minute walk over the Lake Christina boardwalk. If you don't want to walk, there is a tram that will pick you up in front of the house and drop you off at the beach and return you home when you are ready. The Destin Pointe community has 3000 feet of beach frontage along the Gulf of Mexico and the East Pass where the fishing boats come and go from the Destin Harbor. During the summer months, you can watch the fireworks most every weekend sitting on the cool sand of the East Pass. Once you arrive at Destin Pointe, there is no need to worry about any of the traffic jams on Hwy 98. If you need something from the grocery store or Target, you just take Gulf Shore Drive (with very little traffic) and cross over 98 to get whatever you may need. We are also very close to some of Destin's best restaurants and Harbour Walk shops, bars and restaurants. We highly recommend Harry T's restaurant - you will see why when you get there. You can watch the boats coming and going from the harbor with the beautiful blue water. Sipping on a cool drink, you will think you are in Paradise. There are several great golf courses in the area if you want to bring your golf clubs. Also, we have two tennis courts in the neigborhood. There is great scenery for walkers to enjoy in Destin Pointe and on the walking sidewalks along Gulf Shore Drive. Once you have visited the Destin Pointe community, you will understand why so many people return year after year.

We enjoy long walks on the beach. Watching the boats come and go out of the East Pass. Destin Pointe has the only location in the area for snorkeling and fishing along the jetties.

My family and friends just spent 12 glorious days at "Blue Moon". As with last year, all of us felt right at home in this cozy cottage. The proximity to all of the property's amenities makes this an ideal rental! The owners and the property management went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We will return!

Our family had a wonderful time at Blue Moon. The location of BM was just perfect...it's right across the street from one of the neighborhood pools. It's a GATED community so we felt safe letting our kids ride their scooters aroung the block. The tram service to the beach was very fast and staff was always helpful and friendly! You can also walk to the beach. My favorite feature of BM was the ice maker hands down! We filled our cooler each day to take to the beach. Beautiful home!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
