The beach house is a year round 3 bed/2 bath ranch house on Cecil Bay/Lake Michigan. The sunsets are exquisite year round and extra spectacular May thru September, when the sun sets on the bay itself. It boasts one of the very rare 100% sandy beaches in the northern Michigan/Great Lakes area without the "ankle breaking" rocks. Cecil Bay is much shallower than the rest of Lake Michigan, which makes the water much warmer for swimming as well as safer for tubing, jet-skiing, water skiing, etc... The water is no more than waist deep for the average adult for at least 100 yards out. It is also the second house west of the Carp River, making some of the best fishing right in the back yard.
For you historical buffs, the beach house property is the western portion of the original site of The Cecil Bay Lumber Company, which was the exclusive supplier of lumber to the city of Chicago after it burned many years ago. Pilings of the railroad loading pier are still very visible on the beach with a completely submerged section of the pier about 50 yards out to the left and a sunken barge about 200 yards out to the right, which makes for some great snorkeling.
