Why the Owner Chose Kamuela (Waimea)
"As a native Hawaiian I recognize the sacredness of being in the middle of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualalei. Experience the majesty of Pele, Poli'ahu and Haumea-the goddesses of fire, snow and earth. At Waikii you will be safe, and you will be open. This is a place of healing."
The Unique Benefits at this Ranch House
This home features 3 Kitchens, 3 Living Rooms and 2 Dining Rooms! In addition there is a beautiful library with a pool table, fully equipped office and exercise area! Waiki'i Ranch is located in the middle of Parker Ranch country between 3,500 and 5,000 feet elevation. It is 13 miles from the town of Kamuela, and is nestled on the western slopes of Mauna Kea, a 13,800-foot high extinct volcano. The Ranch is over 2,000 acres in size, and consists of 10, 20, and 40-acre residential lots. The land is gently sloping pasture, mixed with groves of eucalyptus and Monterey Cypress trees. CLIMATE Waiki'i Ranch enjoys a very pleasant climate. The air is dry, with annual rainfall averaging 20 inches per year. Summer temperatures range from the high 70's to the low 50's. The winter temperature range is about 10 degrees cooler. Mornings are usually clear and sunny with no clouds or wind until near noon. Some afternoons, clouds will roll in and cover the ranch. It is usually clear by 8:00 PM. The nighttime sky has more stars visible than just about any inhabited area on earth.
Owner's Map of Kamuela (Waimea)
When we first saw the Ranch at Waikii we knew it would one day be our home for the rest of our lives. School and work will keep us in Honolulu a few more years so we can share this beautiful place with a lucky few until then. Our four children love it here. The kids love the trampoline, the hammock, the swings, lots of grass for bowling and Frisbee and just rolling around. The air is clean and the birds are beautiful-look out for pheasants, turkeys and many native birds specific to this Island. Waimea has charm, great restaurants and real people. There are wonderful walks, horse trails - this is Paniolo Country at its finest!

Positive Rating
What a wonderful change from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu. It's great to relax and remember the old Hawaii-we can find it at Waikii. A priceless getaway.
Positive Rating
We came here for a family reunion and there's really something for everyone. From a full size pool table to karaoke, raosting smores, lounging with a scotch in the library, bird watching, stargazing at night-The Milky Way is incredible! The open kitchen/bar/TV room is an easy space for a crown to gather. The dining room seats 12 comfortably and the Great Room always has another chair by the roaring fire. As for the lawn outdoors-you could fit a festival!
Positive Rating
Positively delightful! A refreshing escape from a busy world, with marvelous views and every comfort imaginable. The stars at night from the Jacuzzi were quite stupendous!
Positive Rating
The weather was quite lovely. The sun rising on a misty morning over the spectacular gardens rather took my breath away. Visiting Mauna Kea Observatories was a highlight of our trip and from the kitchen window that evening we saw the moon rising over its snowy peak-unbelievable!"
